Gameriots Political Decision sucks,

Tonight I logged onto WoWRiot and was surprisingly shocked to see Kyle P's post on no more political discussion on WoWRiot. I got a few points on why I think it was bad.

- The original purpose of having different portals was to keep communities together. The idea was WoW players who knew each other could talk among themselves and the people they know. It was not just to keep the talk on WoW.

- I have been a member of this site since the early AmpedNews day. This was before FPS Central and before Amped IGO. I saw a very hard working staff (Ryan, Austin, Josh, and James) put their time in to make the site the best gaming site on the interent. They launched a mods site and a social site and did several redesigns on the Ampednew site. It was a professional looking site and it was ran very well. The problem is it just didnt have a lto of success. Sure we had a lot of hits but the community just read they didnt post. It wasn't until gameriot was launched and the professionalism smashed that there was any success. Frankly this site is like a strip club in the wrong side of town, but that is what makes it unique, Changing it will be bad.

- It is a easy problem to fix. I know not everyone here wants to read political stuff on a gaming site but some find it fun. Why not have the category a blog is in in parenthesis to the left of the title. Have a filter to where people can turn off certain categories. I know with the talent that Gameriot has they could code this easily. Do it. Try turning this place into a high class strip club would be a dissapointment to a lot of people. It needs to stay the way it us.

Andrew
TGO

GameRiot!! & My Thoughts ... hmm

Well I must say the GameRiot came as a complete shock to me. Some here know me and some don't. Anyways I have been visiting Ampednews / esports / whatever  since almost the very beginning and even did some writing for them for a very long period of time. (It is actually pretty cool) The one thing that always stood out to me was how neat and professional things looked. Now don't get me wrong GameRiot looks very nice, but my first impression is it is a RIOT!!!! While it does have a great staff running the site (or at least they use too)  it appears as if the users are really being incorporated into the mix of things. (Possibly thanks to people commenting on everything to raise their level) The lack of users being involved I think really hurt Amped, so I am rooting for a big win with this layout and approach.

My closing thoughts

 - The site has the feel of AmpedEsports, MyAmped, Facebook and a WoW website having a big orge and creating this as it's baby.

- The default pictures looks like a fat AOL man! (Most users are probably fat so yeah)

- Overall I think it is awesome!
