It wasn't just the super scrub setup of season1 2v2 that gave us hard times. On top of the 100000 pally/warrior teams we had to go thru, some of the rogue/priest teams were big trouble too. One good blind and we lose a tonna rating. It was frustrating for either of us to be blinded and watching the other die while walkin around silly for the blind duration. My other nightmare was spriest/lock..... they STILL rob 25+ rating from me to this day and I never bothered with a SR set until last week..... then bam there goes the arena gear swap change...
Nevermind that... we were stuck on 2-2.1k for the majority of season1. There's virtually no mirror matches (we were most confident in that). All I can remember from season 1 2v2 was grief and frustration. Were we really a doomed setup from the start?? No... I refused to believe that. I finally went from mooncleaver to deep thunder when my mage in 3's got stunlocked by Intercept (the warrior, not the ability) pretty much 100-0 and made the biggest cry ever on vent. I think that was the turning point.... not 100% the weapon itself but it was a great boost. I think the main thing was our chemistry and experience came into play at that point on. Everything clicked and we started winnin. It's a pity we only got to 2398 i think since we wanted to make sure we got our drakes, we really didn't play that much.
A few weeks after season2 i xferred to ner'zhul to join up with some of my old friends and brought along my blackrock crew. My homie frm spirestone Memri wuz rly excited abt my arrival so i played some 2's w/ him and hence my arena record w/ him. As soon as my priest arrived tho. We did rly well at the start with some 30-0 record rollin thru war/pal and various lock teams our first few losses were to some rogue/lock... that vc zteam and Ghrwin's (sp?) team but we got our points back and sat around 21xx and took a break while i focused on gettin my stormherald.
A few weeks later i finally got my shiny mace and we resumed our 2's things started lookin really well and we climbed up to 227x and then we bumped into jasi's new 2's team and got 100 rating robbed from us (im gettin that **** back) Upon misery we called it and tried again a few days later and bumped into xecks' / secretive and got beat antoher 4 times... they were close games tho. These streaks of losses wont stop me tho.... warrior+priest for life.

I played war/priest up to like 2k for a couple weeks while my warlock partner was taking a break, and it was insanely difficult. Props to anyone who can get such a high rating with it.

i run warrior priest atm and were at 2100ish on bg9, and id have to say our hardest matchup is rogue/druid, rogue/s-priest, or rogue/warlock. these combos basically 1v1 us, and while they aren't impossible, its pretty hard to be consistent against these teams.
elemental shammy/warlock raped us pretty bad, but ive only seen that team once.
of course, pally/warrior and warrior/druid are tough, but always beatable. def. alot eaiser then the combos mentioned above.Â
what do you guys do vs those teams?

hey wuts ur in game name and which server?
rogue druid and warrior druid are pretty tough for us as well as the recent popular spriest / rogue...
for rogue druid i try to kill the druid while applying hamstring on the rogue whenever possible w/o being shiv'd by cripple, if the druid slips away and my intercept is down i'll beat on the rogue for a bit... the most important thing here is constantly dpsing. depending on how well ur priest kite/tank throwing a few burns on the druid whenever possible will definitely tip the game to ur favor
rogue/hpriest is quite teh same concept, hamstring rogue whenever possible, gotta put more focus on the priest tho since he's easier to stick on, basically it's a race to see who can kill each other's priest first. for spriest it's the same thing... i still dont quite know how to deal w/ this combo bsides stacking stam =[
as for rogue warlock it's all about sticking on the warlock, rogues are too slippery to kill and leaving the lock alone to freecast/freecc will surely give u the loss. Time ur fear/intims right and u should be able to kill the lock b4 they burst u down

I play Warrior/priest at 1900-1950 rating right now, and it seems that warrior druid = I get owned (I'm the priest).
I have 428 resilience, 12.5k buffed HP, but it really seems that the fight is between the warriors versus the healers. The prob is the druid can survive longer than I can, and my warrior usually has to switch and intercept the warrior once or twice to save me. It probably doesn't help that my warr is Axe spec -- im sure a few mace stuns would go a long way. My warrior keeps hamstring on the other warrior, and intercepts the warrior when he intercepts me the first time (I stay on my mount till I have to dismount, usually when I get hamstringed). Other than that, I hop off and manaburn the druid like twice before he shifts into form to stop me, and from then on, it's usually their warr on me and my warr on the druid.
Long story short, we lose more than we win vs that combo. Same with warrior/paladin. Any tips to improve my strategy?

i personally feel very pressured by this combo since any good druid can probably outlast my priest's tanking.
Since the priest class is more "offensive" dont make the game into 2 separate 1v1's. Warrior / priest is hella strong when sticking together. Ur right about axe spec, there's nothing sweeter than mace stunning the druid in travel/caster form leading to ms/white crit heavily pressuring the druid to blow his tricks I also find it easier to snare druids w/ phowl than hamstring since i dont use the merciless gloves and they'll definitely shift within 6 seconds... then again im playing overseas, so 300-400 ping is no so friendly for hamstring
Pretty much the dice is on ur warrior's hands, ur mana pool is his timelimit. If a warrior/druid can kill u b4 u oom then he probably got really lucky or u need to kite/tank better

in game i play on a dwarf priest named ohashi, on kiljaeden. blizz changed my name QQ, i bet this name means some retarded **** in japanese or something...
here's the "hard" matchups for us, anything you can think of to help against these combos would be great.
rogue/warlock: this is hard for us because the warrior can basically get tanked/melted by the warlock without heals, and the rogue just gets on me and locks me down. every time we've faced this team, they make it into two 1v1s. the rogue basically stunlocks me with maces, while the lock fights our warrior.
rogue/druid: this is also rough because the rogue eventually kills me while my warrior partner is cycloned. being a dwarf, i live awhile due to trinketing kidney, stoneform for wound poisons and whatnot, but once these cd's are up, im ******. the druid rotates cc's (root and cyclone) on the warrior, and if i use a gcd to dispel my partner, its precious time where im being owned. i also cant tank rogues for ****, and once im low the druid will help rotate stuns with bear form.Â
finally, rogue/shadowpriest. usually they just nuke the warrior with a well timed silence. it sucks that he's elf, because i'm sure if he was dwarf we'd win np. im torn on who we should focus here, we usually open on the spriest but once the rogue gets crips up, the priest usually trinkets hamstring and kites the warrior inside of intercept range. if the war tries to get on the rogue, he pops evasion etc.
as for druid/warrior, and pally/warrior, while they are difficult, we usually win by kiting the warrior out of los of his healer, while spam dispelling him down to keep of hots/freedom. or sometimes they are retarded and fight our warrior instead of me, which means free mana burns/dispel of innervate and divine illumination

haha, dwarf priest, my priest is human Q_Q
rogue/lock: accorading to ur scenerio, if they are split dpsing is there is no damn fkin way u should lose unless ur warrior hits like a little girl. regardless of what spec that rogue is (mutilate would be lol) if u trinket his kidney, fear stoneform u'll be free kiting him (unless he blows sprint, whatever he cant cripple u for a while) and during this time mending will be boucning like mad while u dispel off lock buffs if u hvn't alrdy, etc - use ur imagination. Dots alone should not be able to kill ur warrior thru mending/renew/shield and neither should you die to a rogue faster than a lock w/ no heals
i'll say more later, gotta run

rogue/druid: yeah, sometimes my priest get eaten up by rogues real quick. The thing is you guys really have to help each other out. Like u said after ur trinket/stoneform tricks ur pretty screwed, just praying for that KS resist is no gd. How ur warrior uses intercept is entirely up to him, defensively (to help u) or offensively (to shut down the druid). Usually i burn mine on getting the druid. Remind ur warrior to phowl or apply hamstring as much as he can on the rogue, you can help him out too by running the rogue across ur warrior, something like that.
Another thing is how ur warrior sticks on the druid. one shiv on the warrior and there goes ur chance at sticking on the druid, 2 shifts tops and he's gone runnin away healing himself. What i'd do is then just swap on the rogue for the time being. Chasing w/o intercept means ~10 seconds of 0 dps from urside. Always dps something whenever possible - if u swap to the rogue means he's gotta run back to heal, bam he's back in ur range and he's used some mana, now u can intercept back at him or just run to him if he's close enough. Honestly this matrix aint no joke, pretty sure xecks secretive didn't rly fluke their way up and for the underdog combo of warrior priest we rly gotta heavily outplay =[
rogue/spriest: it's w/o a doubt all about killing the spriest first... what can i say, it's so damn frustrating for a human priest bcoz if she blows trinket on fear then blind owns the fk outta her. Silence, fear, blind and maybe kick on top of sick dps to a zerker stance warrior is pretty screwed up. Hey at least you have stoneform and fearward, gl =P
sounds like u deal w/ druid/war pal/war fine so i dont need to commen on that
hope this is useful
