Must of us by now have heard about the X-Men Origins: Wolverine leak and that the whole movie is online for pretty much anyone to download right now. The film is incomplete with unfinished effects and Tom Rothman at Fox insisted a ton of footage was missing and that the run time was longer on the final cut.
It turns that the run time is exactly the same thing, 107 minutes, though there supposedly are a couple additions and subtractions scene wise in the movie. The really absurd news came out yesterday via FirstShowing.net who talked to director Gavin Hood. He talked up the film and the usual Marvel easter eggs (like Stan "The Man" Lee showing up quite often) and dropped this little tidbit:
"They've hidden multiple secret endings on different prints and theaters will be showing different versions."
Yes you have read that right, it is an exact quote. No information was given as to how many different endings there are or how long they are though Dark Horizons theorizes they may be just a minute or so but seemingly have no basis for why they think that.
I dealt with the stupidity that Fox threw at us with X3. In fact, I just got the Blu-ray trilogy set as getting 1&2 that way was cheaper even though I could do without X3. But now we have Fox gimmicking Wolverine? Lets take a look at complaints just from the early footage shown so far, and no, I have NOT watched the workprint.
1. WTF are half the X-men in this for? Cyclops? Emma Frost? - stupid
2. Deadpool trying his best to be a shark with lasers on his head -appalling
3. Deadpool looking like a reject from ancient tattoo loving empire and no costume -screw off
4. Gambit being a part of Weapon-X takes seriously liberties with his origin
5. Professor X having anything to do with this movie - um no
6. MULTIPLE SECRET ENDINGS! - wtfux I will not pay to see them all
None of these are "movie killers" and it possible some may make the movie better. But for a fan of the comic, movies, cartoon, these points are a bit disheartening.
I haven't decided if I am going to see this in the theater yet. As much as I love the cigar-smoking, adamantium-laced canuck I hate when stories are unnecessarily tinkered with and commercialized.
Spare the spoilers if you have seen the bootleg please. You guys seeing this in the theater or waiting for DVD?

That is why Fox is churning out movies like this, and the rumored Magneto movie as well. If the franchise is in limbo come 2012 the rights go back to marvel.
A part of me hopes this movie tanks and takes Magneto and X-Men First Class with it, Fox abandons the property and Marvel can do it right come 2012. =/

Wow I didn't realize marvel wasn't making the x-men movies (I don't read that much into this stuff).
I aways wondered why some marvel movies were amazing (spiderman, ironman, second hulk movie), and some were god awful (third xmen movie...)

Why would any film have multiple serious endings? Isn't a book or a movie supposed to be a definitive story?! ****, this seems dumb. I don't know if I'll see it, I'm quite happy with the picture of wolverine, the x-men and the rest of the heroes/teams I currently have in my head

Crossing my fingers that it may just be a different "easter egg" scene per cut and nothing significant to plot. Maybe one ending shows Deadpool is his costume or something to prepare for a rumored Deadpool flick. Maybe one shows Gambit off his own or something, I dunno.
But if they have any bearing on the plot this went from bad to absolutely retarded.

Agreed. Well, maybe I'll cave and see it. I'm pretty gay for Jackman, he's a real man's man, and I like that. A lot.

As someone who recently got back into comicbooks, it would really suck to have them mess up a pretty good story. I hope that it is better than the reports Ive been hearing.

the movie was seriously terrible based of the workprint. I have never read a single comic, and i still thought it was terrible, not even entertaining as a action flick.

Even with if the movie contains allthe terrible things you listed it's still far better than allthe xmen movies (god those were awful...dont know why youd even buy them). It's probably behind iron and the incredible hulk in terms of good (to bad) live action marvel movies (oh spiderman was probably about the same...)
Sabertooth looks so much better in this movie...
They should probably just reboot the xmen series.

X-men 1 and 2 were fantastic, I dont know how you could bash on those. X2 was easily as good as Iron Man and Spiderman 2.

I agree. I actually saw 1 and 3 in theaters and never actually saw anything but the ending of 2. But then recently watched X2 in its entirety, and it was pretty great.

It's more like Ironman > Incredible Hulk > Spiderman Series > Wolverine > X2 > X1 > X3 > CRAP (punisher/daredevil/elektra/ghostrider/famtasticfour) > hulk.
The only actually good mvoies were Ironman and Incredible hulk. Spiderman was decent. The rest is pretty much ****. I'm waiting for Ironman 2, avengers, and the rumoured fantastic four reboot. These movies (ironman / incredible hulk) are making super heroes not look like goofy movies made for 10year olds.

Are you kidding me the green goblin looked ******* terribly goofy, ill admit spidey 2 was good but about the same as incredible hulk and iron man just stomps them all.
Liev Schreiber will really surprise you, its a hella improvement from the tool they had in the xmen series.
Maybe our views are different but sure I enjoyed xmen when it was released, but with movies like nolan's bat man series, iron man and incredible hulk we're able to have an idea of how good superhero movies could be. Offcourse superhero movies are fantastic and beyond belief, but that doesnt mean they have to look completely fake and articial (cough cough the thing..barf...).
It's fine to re-evaluate movies ad compare them to new movies because rebooting a series really isnt an issue anymore.

I feel like they had a great movie going for the first half of origins, and then someone got really ******* drunk. I actually thought Jackman and Liev Schreiber were great, the actor for gambit was pretty lame and so was the movies version of the character himself.
The ending was ******* retarded beyond all description.
