I need a break from the normal... to spout some irregular... of the normal.

First Term Alaskan Governor Sarah Palin

Sarah Palin is President Bush with a Bush.  Does she know our history?  No... otherwise why would she say that the founding fathers used "under god" in the Pledge of Allegiance?  Because she actually thought they did it.  When in reality, the pledge was altered under President Eisenhower with *shiver* religious influence during the Red Scare.

Why is this important??  Because in the past, as we should now know, not understanding the geopolitics (geographical politics) of a nation leads to bad decisions.  One great example, our invasion of Iraq and dissemination of their government left the country in a state of anarchy we were not prepared for.  We did not foresee, although we should have, the problems that would arise from taking down the dictatorship.  How could we have understand the situation better?  From understanding the history of the area better when deciding to invade.  So if the potential Vice President/President does not even know her own Countries' history, even a small common knowledge bit,  how can we expect her to act diligently in the affairs of foreign countries?

Now on to slightly newer stuff.

Attorney General Beau Biden

Next, I had the pleasure of attending a no press lecture-style speech by Delaware Attorney General Beau Biden who spoke at the Democratic Convention in Denver.  Just to remind those who did not watch the convention or his speech, he is the son of Vice President Nominee Senator Joe Biden.  In short, the guy is as great a person on television as he is off television.  Denver was not even part of the quasi-speech, which was more of a unscripted discussion, and the focal point was about how Delaware's Attorney General's office is ran and how they're currently implementing a new prosecuting program to reduce crime in the state.  Since I hold a Bachelor of Science (4 yr degree) in Criminal Justice, I could really relate to what he was saying in two ways.  But all in all, he is a great example of what his father is, which others have failed to represent.

World of Warcraft Sucks

I will not explain some of the reasons why WoW sucks which other people have explicitly said and which I agree with which include, the RNG aspect, the crappy e-sport aspect, the bad class balance, the counter-comp aspect and I will therefore begin with my fourth reason.

Fourth, the world combat in WoW sucks.

This is a given.  Everyone knows that flying mounts destroyed the little there was.  Prior to flying mounts consisted of generally just ganking anyway.  The most competitive ganking was the best.  That was in Silithus' town, which I don't even remember the name of.  Of course this is not even the case after the patch that made the guards instantly pwn everyone from everywhere.  What a bore!  Why don't they just make fighting unable to happen rather than buffing the guards beyond belief.  Fighting in Tanaris' town was fun too until they made fighting from rooftops illegal and then gave the guards guns which just flipping wreck everyone.

Whats the deal with the world pvp objectives?  Every world pvp objective except for Halaa was played out before it was even released on live.  And Halaa followed shortly afterwards.  They were merely side-miniature games like the arcade games in GTA but no one ever participated.

And finally World Events Suck in WoW

I have to admit, the world events in WoW did not necessarily suck in their idea of the fashion they were implemented.  They sucked for two reasons.  The gate opening of AQ was grandiose but lasted only a few short hours, but required hours upon hours of work from everyone on the server to open.  Or I should say, required hours of work if the people on the server felt like doing the work because eventually the gates opened practically by themselves (with the essential component).  Well?  The event lasted so short that if you didn't log in that day, you never experienced it.  And if you did log in that day, you probably lagged too much to experience it.

The whole Naxxramas world event was nearly lag free and lasted much longer.  But it didn't have the grandiose feeling that the AQ gate opening achieved.  There weren't large monsters walking around which required group participation to take down... instead they had basically packs of mobs which you had to farm.  Yay!  The reduced a world event down to a grind!

Did they change anything with the Sunwell?  They took out the competitive aspect of opening the raid instance!  They claimed that other events would be made to promote realm competition... Where the **** are they?  Non-existent.  A way to brush off the expectations of their players.  "maybe they'll forget" - they were probably thinking.  I didn't forget.

There are so many reasons why WoW sucks.  I will just laundry list a few others.

- farming endlessly

- So you can eventually farm endlessly again

- So when the next expansion/arena season comes out, you can farm again

- 1 new lackluster BG per expansion

- and others

Why do you want to keep paying for the ability to farm over and over again?  Why can't they add variations of BGs more often?  Why do they allow class imbalance to the extent they do?

I really can't say if Warhammer will be any better and to be honest, I wouldn't even play it if 8 people I know (half who never even played wow) plan on playing it.  But if we collectively focus our hope of Warhammer slaying WoW, maybe - just maybe... probably not.  Okay, but who cares.

Sarah Palin is President Bush with a Bush.

Somehow I doubt it, since she had good things to say about Ron Paul in the primaries, and worked for Buchanan in 1996.  She's about as far from Bush as you can get in the Republican party.

Does she know our history? No... otherwise why would she say that the founding fathers used "under god" in the Pledge of Allegiance? Because she actually thought they did it. When in reality, the pledge was altered under President Eisenhower with *shiver* religious influence during the Red Scare.

The fact that you aren't all over the idea that the founders were around for the pledge shows you don't know the history of it all that well either.  Same goes for the liberals bull****ting about it in the press.

How would you say the situation compares to Obama thinking there were 57 states?

I think the fact remains that she thinks the founders had the words "under god" in the pledge.  I really don't understand what you mean by me not being "all over the idea that the founders were around for the pledge".  It just doesn't make sense.

Obama obviously meant 47 states and accidentally said 57, 1 state he planned on going to and 2 others he was not planning on attending.  Thats an honest mistake.  She really believed the pledge of allegiance was both made by the founding fathers and included "under god" which she would be wrong on.

He's talking about the fact that the Founders didn't even write the pledge. They were all dead when it actually was written.. lol. This also reinforces what I wrote here, that she may have slipped, automatically thinking they'd referred to a different document:

"Also, for all you know, the pressure of being on camera or something
made her let those words slip out before you really considered they
were talking about the constitution or gettysburg address (see, I screwed up too), or something. You're giving Obama the
benefit of the doubt, why can't I give it to Sarah Palin?"

Lets see... No... otherwise why would she say that the founding fathers used "under
god" in the Pledge of Allegiance?  Because she actually thought they
did it.  When in reality, the pledge was altered under President
Eisenhower with *shiver* religious influence during the Red Scare.

I never said that the founders did write the pledge.  I said she thought they did and that they included "under god" which they did not.  A slip of the tongue to another document?  What other document includes "under god"?  How could that be a slip?  I believe she actually thought she knew what she was talking about, really what better source of constitutional authority than the founding fathers?  And the "under god" portion is a constitutional question.  That leads me to believe that she really thought that which she said was true.  Incomparable to a slip of the tongue, which tends to happen.

I fail to see how making such a trivial mistake makes her incompetent to be the vice president, especially considering Obama thinks he's ready to run the country.

Considering that the President doesn't run the country alone, being that he would have a cabinet, and is wise enough to listen to advice - unlike Bush who surrounded himself with "yes" people - kind of negates this argument.  Also, imagine if McCain died and Palin was the the president.  Also think about what a bad choice she is which speaks volumes of McCain's agenda to get into office.  He is willing to choose someone he met ONCE who is a first term Governor of Alaska!  Because she is a woman?...

The mistake is also hardly trivial.  It shows how incompetent she is in terms of being ready to be VP!

The president doesn't run the country alone, the vice president doesn't really run the country at all, so you're basically reinforcing my point that the mistake was trivial considering her potential future job description. And I disagree about Bush being surrounded by 'yes' people. Just because some of the main players may agree with him on a lot of things does not mean they mindlessly say, "yes, done, sir!" and put things in motion. Look at Cheney, Rice, Rumsfeld, et cetera--these people clearly do/did a lot of decision-making themselves and I don't doubt he values their opinions on many matters more than his own. As far as McCain dying in office: there is nothing to suggest he's going to die. Reagan didn't die. We've had other old presidents. We've had presidents with polio and morbidly obese presidents. We've had unqualified vice presidents. The fact remains that McCain is more experienced and, on the whole, a far better choice for next president than his opponent, who really hasn't a clue. And, I also think Biden was a terrible choice for his VP, being a loud-mouth asswipe that likes to shout to drive his point - which is usually just spin - home: these things are called opinions.

Also, for all you know, the pressure of being on camera or something made her let those words slip out before you really considered they were talking about the Preamble, or something.  You're giving Obama the benefit of the doubt, why can't I give it to Sarah Palin?

Actually, its well documented and admitted from more than a one ex-white house employee that Bush often asked questions with the desire of a certain answer.

The republicans have been arguing that McCain is more experienced than Obama and I bought in to it.  Until Sarah Palin became his running mate, someone FAR less qualified, and basically showed McCain's true colors and the republican's real intentions which are to just choose someone who will get votes rather than choosing someone qualified for the job.

I cannot give Sarah Palin the benefit of the doubt because a numerical mistake is easier to make.  Clearly he knows there are only 50 states.  Why the heck would you think that he really thought there were 57 states its CLEARLY a slip of the mind.  On the other hand, its a huge historical mistake to say that the founders used "under god" in the pledge of allegiance.

You didn't even know they didn't write the pledge =P

Anyway, it's a mistake, yes, but you're reaching if you think it's a demonstration of her job performance and capabilities.  Whether you like McCain's choices or not, he IS experienced, Obama is not.

wtf are you talking about?I did know they did not write the pledge.  When did I indicate otherwise?  Because I asked Vir to explain his bad communication?  You're reaching now bud.

The founding fathers never would have allowed "under god" to enter in a pledge.  They didn't allow prayer at the beginning of Congress even though basically everyone was Christian.

Experience didn't seem to be a large thing when Abraham Lincoln was elected.  And hes regarded as one of the greatest Presidents by historians (from Al Gore's address at the DNC).  Plus if McCain's policy reflects that of Bush's, we may as well keep Bush in for another term.  I'd rather take my chances with change rather than go with the flow.

Very true.  But I do not really see why Hillary supporters which jump boat for a woman who doesn't even care about protecting women's rights?  Palin is practically the complete polar opposite of Hillary on many issues.
