Yo I'm Rokman

Hey, you may know me from World of Warcraft as Rokzilla, the rogue. I even made a video that got a little bit of attention. I quit playing WoW in July of 2009 and moved onto better things. Right now, I'm mostly focusing on HoN and soon to be Warhammer. In HoN, I haven't accomplished much beside starting a stupid HoN meme, you may recognize as "TOO BAD IT'S ME BLACKSMITH" other than that, I've only written a guide on Blood Hunter tactics that was promoted to Premium. I'm actually not even that great at HoN, as it's my first multiplayer RTS, although I have learned a lot quickly thanks to some friends.

The reason I'm making this blog is because, frankly, I'm pretty bored most of the time since after playing WoW for so long, it feels awkward not being on the computer. And I can write about HoN and movies on here. And you can read them.

HoN vs LoL

I've had the distinct pleasure of playing a couple of games of DotA at my friend's house. I mostly watched him play and the few times I tried I was a huge failure. I was mainly turned off by the step backwards in graphics and awkward over-the-head gameplay that I was not used to. Fast forward to August of this year and I get an invite to HoN from a TF2 buddy (sup Vash's Krew!) and I played some games with my friends.

Immediately, I loved how little it was like WoW, which I had grown to hate. HoN was a competitive game that focused on individual skills in a team with much less rng than WoW ever had. HoN was also built upon a great game among RTS fans, DotA and the dev team, S2, has a positive history of game development with the Savage series. Also, S2 feels very strongly about making a DotA clone that can be self sustaining, unlike the original.

I might be biased in saying this, but I prefer HoN over LoL for a lot of reasons. First off, LoL just looks terrible. It's bright colored, cartoon style is something I don't want to be looking at for hours at a time. I need something that looks good without over the top color schemes. Secondly, LoL is trying to cater to new players. By taking out denies, it specifically takes away a very skillful attribute in early game matches. That's almost reason enough not to touch it. But finally, the icing on the cake, it's a free game. But to unlock all the characters and special ****, it's going to cost you a hefty bill.

Play LoL if you're a slow learner and never played RTS. Play HoN if you have friends that can help you conquer the learning curve, if you don't need help learning, HoN is the obvious choice.

Warhammer endless trial

I made my Warhammer account back in May of 2009. I really enjoyed the game overall because it was a new MMO. It's main faults were the tiny amount of sluggish-ness and few bugs. Many people have promised me that the bugs that were so annoying have been purged and the game itself is very polished. Hey, it only took a year, right? You definitely can't say that about Age of Conan. Also, Don't forget Mythic are the guys responsible for Dark Age of Camelot and Ultima Online! They can produce some high quality stuff!

Recently, Mythic has changed their policy on free trials. Now, it's free forever but the only limitations is a level 10 cap. At level 10, there is a lot to do. There is one world PvP zone for each faction, there is multiple "battlegrounds," a ton of gear to get from these battlegrounds, there are professions, and there is siege battles. All of this is available to level tens within the first tier! After you sit through the long patching process, it really is a great game. I highly recommend you to try out the trial, head over to the Warhammer home page.

Men Who stare at Goats review

I just now got back from seeing The Men Who stare at Goats and it was a great comedy that I was looking forward to. I feel the trailer gave way too much information away and a lot was ruined, possibly even the entire story. I think there was a lot of potential to throw in some curve balls and surprise you but for whatever reason they felt they did the right thing. Grant Heslov, the director, did a great job compared to his short directing career. I look forward to seeing other movies he directs.

Good

Man, I loved the Star Wars references all throughout the movie. They really snuck in some treats for Star Wars fans! There was a lot of good shot compositions in the movie as well, with some great camera angles that you don't see very often. Really good writing because you could see very clearly the development of the main character during the film, great acting from everybody, especially Jeff Bridges, and overall a solid, original, comedy.

Bad

Kevin Spacey's role was way too small. This guy is an incredibly talented actor that was underplayed and he could of done a lot more and the ending was very disappointing and somewhat predictable. There really isn't much else I can complain about.

Overall 3.5/5

I think you should definitely go see it this weekend if you enjoy a comedy. The R rating is pretty stupid, there is some drug use, but come on, it's 2009. Decent movie, I'm not sure if it's good enough to own on Blu-Ray though. I'm planning to go see The Box Saturday or Sunday, I might make another blog post for that.

It was sound issues, the drivers were crashed on the competition PC's, we had to move positions on computers over and over.

Trust me, the tournament started 40 minutes late, and ended an hour and a half late, no one was happier to be done with the tournament than us at Check 6 tonight.

Hopefully we'll all be refreshed tomorrow.

The movie was pretty mediocre. It had a few good moments here and there but overall it was really weak.

" Don't forget Mythic are the guys responsible for Dark Age of Camelot and Ultima Online! They can produce some high quality stuff!"

No not really dude, mythic just maintaining servers and doing whatever expansions are comming now for UO.

the mythic dudes however had nothing to do with developing UO.

however warhammer is still nice
