I had the opportunity to interview the man behind Eurospective a couple of days ago and asked him a some of questions. For next time we can try "fan questions" in case you want to know something more personal; it sounds creepy but to quote Yiska: "this is the internet."
The interview is a bit lengthy but is well worth it, Sasha is a man with a plan (very humble too) and a positive attitude towards the future. Be sure to visit and subscribe Eurospective.
Before we start this "interview" let me just say that I'm very uncomfortable with giving an interview in this situation; I really haven't achieved anything yet other than entertaining some people. Don't get me wrong, that is really all that it's about but the amount of people I reach is still very small and while you can be pretty well known in a community like WoWriot, you're still a no one in the whole picture. I'm pretty sure I don't even score 5% of WoM's hits.
Eurospective roster has increased, all of them will blog or just a selected few with random guest appearances?
Well there are certainly people on the blog roll who probably won't blog in the future. I had a fun writer who didn't respond in the last couple of days, which I'm pretty sad about considering the "teasers" he send me were very fun. Maybe it was a troll, who knows. I have a couple of other guest writers in mind; some of them already agreed but that's probably not something that will happen in the upcoming weeks, we'll see.
Who inspired you to start blogging?
Definitely Ming, no question about that. I've been a religious reader of WoM way before he came to Gameriot. I liked Dahis blogs when he was on his old blog, but sadly I heard about him way too late considering I wasn't really in that whole American scene thingy back then. If I recall correctly, I got hooked up reading Ming's blog when he had these inane walls of text back and forth with sunken about Rogue specs. Maybe it was his combat dueling video, I don't really remember.
Do you do it for the money, fame or both?
First off, the amount of time I invest in Eurospective and also ComplexityGaming is not near enough to justifiably call it a job. I'm a law student and writing whenever I want and not having to attend a call center at 6pm is a big plus. The small income I have via blogging happens to be about the same I had to take from my savings for food and sometimes gaming gear.
Will Eurospective bring girls to the roster like WOM?
The blogging philosophy Ming and I have are different and that's one of many reason he didn't pick me as a writer. While the blogging style of Eurospective can be less serious and more goofy at times than how they blog at WoM, our content is mostly is first hand information that isn't "fabricated". If a female blogger is able to provide an interesting, thought provoking or funny article I surely wouldn't refuse her, I can't be picky in my situation. What I can do though is giving a few tips to writers how to make their blog more appealing to the WoWriot crowd. Back to the point, I won't refuse a female writer but I won't actively search for one for the purpose of having tits on my blogroll. If tits are required I can still take the Slapnuts' way out and just post pictures of beautiful women in the blog itself.
Any Yiska WoW Movie? Arena? BG? RL?
No movie, considering my computer always hasn't been that awesome and because I play with two screens which is even heavier on the performance. Playing with lower resolution, therefore adjusting my UI again and also sacrifice a monitor just so I can show people how bad I am: Ney. The only movies on the internet including me are the ones on the Eurospective account. Here's a little leak for you: That might change in the future.
Any sexy pictures for the Yiska Lovers?
I CAN'T BELIEVE I'M DOING THIS!!!!!

That's me a good year ago (I think) on the way back from a night with friends. I haven't been beaten up, my eyes look like that.
If that's sexy? Hell no. I like to remind again, I'm not gay. Does anybody at this point even believe me anymore?
This is me two years ago when I joined university.

Asides from Jogging for +likes any other life risking projects?
I tried to pet a puppy today in the supermarket and it almost killed me I swear. People don't believe me but these creatures hate me; also I'm studying law which I'm 99% sure will cost me my life eventually. I definitely have parachuting on my "to do in life list" right after turning down a one night stand with Paris Hilton because she's a flat chested dumb ***** and owning a tree house (one to actually live in, not something for the kids).
Where the hell you come up with your crazy ideas?
I really don't know. Some people can draw (I can't even make a proper straight line), some people can sing (well let's say my voice might be the best weapon against dogs) and others are completely out of their mind; that would be me. I like to analyse (JESUS IT'S A PROPER WORD, YES IT HAS ANAL IN IT BUT IT'S STILL NOT GAY) my surrounding and then ridicule the outcome. For example jogging for blogging really came to my mind when I was jogging and actively thinking how I could improve my life both by jogging and my creative side (with blogging).
In a game like WoW, sometimes there is not much to talk about, even though I'm really blessed with all those people who come to me with their stories but it's not necessary, especially on GR. People like to see original content. I think people have the ability to come up with stuff like that, most of them just aren't confident enough to elaborate and publish them somewhere.
Is Yiska just your online persona or Yiska is just who you are?
Hard to answer as I sometimes really don't know who I am. I think it's really me, although most of the time I don't kiss as much ass as I do in blogs (so many ass in one sentence.. still not gay). I happen to like this life, enjoying the person from my blogs as of late. I put on my player and just go out and if one of my favourite songs is playing, I just smile all the time.
I'm still not an optimistic douchebag though. I'm a pretty twisted person and I have weird ways of seeing things sometimes. For example I read a list of "offenders on death row" and spent 4 hours reading it because I was so interested in seeing if there is a pattern not only in race, age and gender but also in personality. I found it interesting to see how many of these people turned to god in their final statement. My level of tolerance is pretty high when I see a reason for people to do certain things as well. That was totally off topic, heh.
What do you think of the current WOM bloggers?
I think the addition of Pookz is Ming's masterpiece although Venruki could've also taken the job easily. I honestly think if Serennia was willing to invest some hours a week, I could give him enough advice to write interesting reads again and by some hours I mean those 10 hours of WoW a week which should be a given for every person who blogs about WoW. Writing on WoWriot is so much psychology, you wouldn't believe it.
Bodi isn't all that different from me really. He just has a different approach and that's why he get flamed for. I might be totally off here and I apologize, but I think Bodi doesn't invest as much time into his blogs as I do and you know what? He doesn't have to as I'm pretty sure he's still doing well in hits. At the end of the day, we all come back to WoM despite all the flaming and whining about the bloggers; not only over 50% of the blogs are still a decent read but because we like to bad mouth people.
I'm sure Verdak brings more hits to the blog than I could've pulled of. That's actually wrong, let me rephrase, Verdak was the right person to pick for Ming with the information he got about the both of us. I believe I'm not only able to make these new viewers come back, but also I have quite some stuff coming up to promote me. Would've that been possible on the WoM blog roll? Meaning if people would helped me if I was working for Ming, is arguable though. One paragraph without gay, hell yeah.
Your favorite GR troll?
I think people give way too less credit to Publicity_Stunt. The guy has been around for basically ever and he's still doing his "playing dumb" stuff. If I had to pick, I'd say it's Roma with his RMP rants and general rants about balance. Heck, he makes me rage everytime even though I perfectly realize he's trolling and while I rage, I'm also literally laughing out loud in real life. The best troll in terms of delivering internet justice is definitely Vir, although I don't always agree with him.
Do you play any other MMO besides WoW? Consoles?
I tried Warhammer but quit because it really wasn't my game (it sounds like gay, but it isn't). I didn't have as much people to play with and the people I knew weren't as competitive as I am. I tried Aion beta but realized soon enough that it wasn't worth my time and also it would've effected my performance as a blogger. As for consoles, whenever I am in the city were my mother lives, I pretty much drop the suitcase (with the dirty laundry heh, i luv mom) and drive to my friends to play the **** out of the current FiFa. I had a team going for 3 clanwars who lost interest in the game because I'm such a rage bot, heh.
Any released or upcoming MMO that piques your interest?
Interest yes. The Starwars MMO sounds interesting but I'm not going to pick it up as long as I work in the WoW Community and we all know that this is probably a wise choice.
Law school.... seriously?
Fun fact: I applied for Law, Biology and Psychology and got accepted in the first two. I didn't really know what to do with my life back then and I hope I made the right choice. Law generally isn't something you do and go "WOW IT'S SO MUCH FUN I LIKE TO HAVE A BATH IN IT AND IF IT HAD AN UTERUS OH I'D SO GET BABIES WITH IT". Most of it is just really interesting and I guess I like it.
Beer or Liquor?
Depends on the occasion. Generally beer but vodka redbull is my pregaming choice.
One change you would make to WoW?
A whole year TR with spectator slots for every game.
One change you would make to WOM?
More original content. Alternatively helping Serennia to become the quality writer he once was.
Verdak or aNNa?
*Ok my last chance to not seem gay... Don't **** this up Sascha...COME ON THINK.*
BOTH AND THEIR HOT SIBLINGS ALL IN A BATHTUB.
*brilliant, if they only have brothers I fail though*
Your opinion on the Tits or GTFO trend
It's objectively stupid, but we're evolutionary designed like that. Keep in mind, this is the internet.
Message for future GR bloggers?
Be creative and trust your instinct. Analyse (the bad word again...) your own user behaviour on GR and try to transfer that into your blogs. Enjoy the game you play and express that. You can contact me every time via PM and I will try to answer your questions. Yiska out.

I wanna do more blogs like this one with other GR bloggers. Yiska was super cool about it but I don't know how others will react.

Didn't talk about Zilea either although he's the >>>WORLD CHAMPION<<<. I just thought that you're doing a very good job and I think there wasn't really any discussion needed there. Did I save it honey? ^_^
