The Dallas Venom have been making some really interesting choices with their CS team. JaX has been testing out a brawwwr, zid, Dominator, da_bears, n0it lineup. I'd be pretty lonely if I was Dominator considering I'm the only person with more than ten bullets in his gun.

Forza was taking a little break, and I'm going to try to watch a few matches when they restart pretty soon, but it's becoming apparent there are a plethora of options. I'm going to list the guys that I've been impressed with based on results and hype that are still available in the draft (in no order):

The Optx are trying out more players. They're playing against coL's full lineup from last season, but instead of Mustang and Juan they're using Paradox and Nikon. For some reason n0it is playing for Moe, as well. Not sure what's going on there, they probably just want to see more people.

I'm sure everybody knows Paradox and n0it. But Nikon has shown up on the radar. I've seen some statistics that rate him as the second-best player in Source while he was playing. And I can vouch for the person who…  More

I wrote down the Forza matches, and I've got some early results. The CS teams have to wait; there isn't a master schedule, probably because of the pug factor. I'll update those as often as I can.

It was a late night for me, sorry about the late posting. I'm already on my second coffee.

I've been running around to find out the challenge matches. I don't know a specific order, and I don't know if these lists are complete but I believe they are. I've got FIFA and DoA, plus some CS. Forza will be coming in a bit. Here are scheduled challenge matches for today.

The CGS teams finally (FINALLY!) got a chance to announce their protected players. As I covered in my reactions to the choices, there were a few, but not too many, surprises in the group.

 

But the most important effect of the announcement wasn’t the realization of a dream for the gamers, or the possibility of a career in professional video gaming. None of that mushy crap. The most important effect was that I can finally do a mock draft!

There was some fun things that happened during Day 1. And more importantly, there were a lot of fun people.

We had guys and girls screaming their lungs out, playing their hearts out, and I think one person even fainted from all the tension and excitement. Alright, that was me, but still. It was a big day.
