I'm sure everybody knows Paradox and n0it. But Nikon has shown up on the radar. I've seen some statistics that rate him as the second-best player in Source while he was playing. And I can vouch for the person who developed the method, and the amount of data he used -- e.g. the sample size was more than enough to draw conclusions from.
We'll see how he does in this match, but he could be a huge darkhorse in the list of potential Source players. It'll be interesting to see if he gets into more matches later.
I have four match results for Source right now.
Chicago 10 - Dallas 6
Devastation 10 - Guardians 5
Carolina 10 - XFX 2
x3o 10 - San Francisco 5
The only team that used a mixed linup was x3o and San Francisco. x3o had Warden filling in, and the Optx used Juan/Mustang with their three protected guys. Apparently that didn't work so well. I'm not sure if it was just a matter of chemistry, but a 10-5 win for x3o is pretty convincing.
DoA Male
There was a huge match in DoA Male. Rikuto played against Master and found himself in an 0-4 hole before coming back to win 5-4.
If I was Jax, that would have me pretty nervous. The Franchise player needs to be dominant in his field. I'm not sure if Master will be that player. I think he'll be very very good, but Dallas' margin for error in the draft looks a lot smaller if they can't count on Master.
The other thing worth mentioning is that I didn't even have Rikuto in my Mock Draft yesterday. That's how deep DoA Male is. It literally might come down to a GM's preference and things like attitude and how they'll fit in socially with the other members in the franchise.
The only guy standing above the rest is Perfect Legend. I wouldn't be surprised if the other DoA Male slots aren't filled until the last couple rounds. Why pay for the spot early when you can pick up a similar player two or three rounds later?
GM Update
I haven't got a chance to do too much sight-seeing, but I'm trying to keep my eyes on the GMs. Right now CS is probably the least-spectated game. I've seen Lake a few times watching the DoA Male competition -- I don't know if that means he's looking for another guy instead of Perfect Legend, or if he's trying to gauge DoA Female candidates.
All the GMs are splitting time between Forza and DoA, it seems like. I haven't seen many of them watch a FIFA match. I'm not sure any of them have watched a full one -- but again, I've had other things to do. They pop in to watch CS from time to time, but they don't stay for very long.
Just thought it might be interesting.
