Some various fights I put together while the server wasn't chain crashing yesterday and today with the new prot talents.

The amount of lockdowns and cooldowns in general that a prot warrior has in their arsenal now is amazing. I feel almost like a prep rogue with so many abilities available to use instead of just mortal strike and hamstring (basically). The first fight is a true show of how much you can entirely lock down a healer as prot spec that you could not do as Arms or Fury.

It's especially funny and interesting because I would like to emphasize that there is no possible way I would have been able to beat those Death Knights had I been fury or arms spec no matter what cooldowns I use.

Prot is easily a healing reduction away from being arena-viable atm.

Serennia,

I was just curious as to how you were geared during those fights. Were you wearing typical tank gear, straight dps gear or a mix of both?

Was that a decent representation of how prot plays out in fights, or were those players noobs. (no offense =) )

What kind of stats did you have?

Would be interesting to see a prot dps gear set comming out for arenas. Block value will be quite a nice thing to have but usually you cant find that combined with dps stats, imagine arena pieces with ArP str Crit block value and sta resilence quite powerfull i'd guess.

It would be cool if they designed Prot into some kind of PvP disruption class, since everything else kind of falls into the category of DPS/MS, DPS/CC, or Healing. Problem is most classes that get trained get shut down anyway but maybe with pushback changes/removal of mace stun, etc that won't be the case.

Pretty nice video. Thanks for it.

@Serennia:
One Question:
How much stance-dancing is involved in playing pvp-prot? talking about berserker rage, overpower, hamstring (still not usable in def stance???). While beeing in Battle/Berserk.
Also, i would prefer Piercing Howl over anything in Arms (even Impale) because of not being able to hamstring in Def-Stance.

If you swapped from arms pvp gear to prot pve gear (or a mix of both), how does that affect the viability of prot pvp?  Is the increased dodge/parry/shieldblock/stam worth giving up some ap/crit?
