Xpac on the way, and right now i'm averaging about an hour of playtime a week, if that. I have pre-ordered xpac, and will be leveling up and playing in times when there is literally nothing else to do; thus, WoW will not be as much of a priority as I ever made it out to be.
I haven't checked gameriot since the last time I posted which was months ago, and coming back I realize how stupid this game has gotten. Nobody is respectful to each other in the least bit, the only teams playing for any real money at tournaments are WLD teams, RMP makes you wanna smash your eyeballs in with any object in a 5 inch radius, and the only real "trolling" that I see going on is a bunch of kids running around screaming "YA WELL WHAT HAVE YOU ACCOMPLISHED ROFL UR MOM." Guess what, you're not funny, you aren't "hardcore" and you aren't tough. It's the internet, my 7 year old brother can be as "big" as you here.
When my account is officially closed, I can say it will be the ending I always wanted. I played this game for years, beat the dead horse, stuck with my mage through the worst of times (cs on global cooldown anyone?) and always had this illusion that the game would once again retreat to the simplicity it had pre-BC. Some people call it boring, I say that was the time when there was the most potential. That was when timing was everything, quickness overcame gear, and HoT's didn't exist.Â
Xpac is a cluster**** of abilities nobody even knows when to use, everyone but me seems to know how paladins work, deathknights are going to be weird in themselves, and i've run out of hotkeys for ANY new abilities. This game needs not only to be reduced of % based things (just make everything an ability, and make it work 100% of the time, with a cooldown, and watch as people suddenly develop very unique playstyles using that ability) but needs things that will make each and every person stand out.
But oh well, what does it matter, I doubt I will be the one playing this game 15 hours a day anymore, so at this point all I want to do is log on, enjoy some of the new quests, roleplay in the mountains with my picnic basket and my swift noble steed, and continue to miss the days when WoW was an intense, competative game, instead of this slumber party full of 13 yr old girls pumped their going to high school for the first time next week, and are practicing talking **** to all the other girls walking around.
Nobody cares.
My last post on gameriot
~peace
(those of you who have my aim and want to say hey, feel free. or if you just get hella bored with your server and wanna play casually come xpac with me, cachexic, and saqe, just hit me up.)

Sailing on old ships, little pirate. One day, you'll understand.
Btw "pensioners" wtf? Did you're parents get you win 40 or something? That'd explain everything.

In common parlance, a pensioner is a person who has retired, and now collects a pension. This is a term typically used in the United Kingdom; someone of pensionable age may also be referred to as an 'old age pensioner', or OAP. In the United States, the term retiree is more common.

I know the feeling. I barely log on myself anymore. I've had much more fun doing things other than WoW. Hell that even includes War3 where I have beaten every TD on at least normal/hard and find it boring.

I love how people who quit almost always make a 'goodbye post' with negative things to say about the game. Its almost as if they're trying to take some more people with them, to justify their choice.
Oh and btw, pre-bc pvp sucked, it wasn't about quickness or w/e, it was about getting gibbed in 3 secs by some random in raid gear and not being able to do **** about it. With resilience and the arena system pvp has become much more competitive and fun. Sure its not a perfect system, but nothing is perfect on the internet, people will always be way too opinionated for their own good.
Anyway, don't let the door hit you on your way out.

you probably had bad gear, pre-bc with equal gear >>>>> BC

Naxx guild. Nice try though.
Pre-bc with equal gear didn't mean ****, it just increased damage, not survivability. Also with no arena system, all you had was BG zergfests (except there were some admittedly fun times in organized WSG). It was much like the fail system of WAR. Also gear was way harder to get for the masses, which means less competition.
Your pve progression should NEVER be the only measure of your pvp prowess.

You're ******* retarded if you think equal gear between opponents during pre-bc did not mean ****.

I mean it all really depends on what you call PvP pre TBC. Duels? BGs? I mean are either one of those NOW more balanced then they were then? I don't believe so at all.
Equal gear in those 2 categories mean about as much as they do now.

This actually isn't quite true. I started compiling a stamina set but didn't ever really finish, however another rogue on LB who raided had like 5800 hp in his stam set from AQ/BWL epics (for instance, the ring off Nef). Probably took awhile to make, but that was easily the most hp on the server, or at least the most of any known player/pvper. So it was possible, however it mostly complemented rogues best, as we are (or were) the least gear-dependant of any class as far as damage output goes.

So you're the kid I farmed in my rank 10 gear, as you ran around witht he best gear in the game and had no idea how to use it.
Why do you think I rocked elementalist spec for months? Quickness/mobility of pom fire, with less on demand burst (aka pom) but gives you iceblock so you don't get 1 shot by ap/fire mages, hunters that get an aimed shot off, or a warlocks deathcoil/shadowborn combo that took off 1/2 your hp.
I had the most simple pvp gear in the game pre-BC, never had anywhere close to the best gear, and my only epics were arcanist bracers and mana igniting chord. And guess who didn't lose - me and cachexic.
Sorry you sucked, thank god BC made it easier for you.

Mages could get by with 'bad' gear if they were an Elementalist or Frost build. Please don't think you're special because you 'rocked' people with blue gear. I know more mages who did the same thing in your gear, or worse.
That being said, pre-TBC, raid gear was ******* stupid.
I'm glad arenas got introduced along with arena gear. For the first 2 seasons, having PvP gear was enough to compete. All the good PvP-ers had their full set within the first 2 months or so(Back then I remember getting 1700 something points for 2400 rating in 5v5).
What I'm not glad about is the way Blizzard is handling balance changes. Druids have been ruining arenas since S2 in every bracket. PvE gear has gotten completely out of hand, too. It pretty much started in S2 when more and more people were clearing TK and getting their hands on T5. By S3, PvE gear became even more rampant for a lot of classes.
Meh, rants. I think TBC did do a lot of things right. The only thing I miss from the L60 days is the community.

Haha you must have been a baddy pre BC.
also, protip, current game is just as horribly imbalanced with gear. Actually its worse. I dont see very many people in blues doing well these days in pvp. But you know what? I sure did in pre BC.

Thats because level 6 blues are the same as s2 gear now, nobody who has been lvl 70 for more than 3 days has blues anymore.....
I see plenty of people suceeding in s2 gear.

that is gained by a completely boring and overly repetitive method that no one enjoys whatsoever. (not to mention all pvp gear from an aesthetic pov is terrible and unoriginal. Thus further weakening the fun factor of it all.

What? You mean the only time people try is in the arena where if they lose they can say the following..?
-Nice RNG
-Pillars lewl
-Disconnect
-Lag
-Not my main team
-My brothers nerf gun hit my screen mid game.
Opposed to the ones I run into in a BG, where a loss doesn't mean 12 points off their scoresheet, but rather just letting me know they aren't all their hyped up to be.
I'll take the street credit over the numbers on my sheet, thanks.
