Good (Valve) and evil (Activision) are about to head to court over $424,136.

It seems Activision owed Valve a big chunk of change according to Gamepolitics and the court complaint.  The two companies had a dispute settled from 2002 over royalties and the arbitrator ruled that Activision owed Valve $2,391,932. The 2 million plus was money from Activision distributing Valve content way back when before Valve took it upon themselves to distribute their own stuff.

Activision apparently didn't take too kindly to that ruling and stiffed Valve $424,000 stating they had overpaid them this amount in years past.

Activision has stated they won't pay the difference threatened to countersure Valve if they took it to court.  Valve channeled the spirit of Gordon Freeman and his never-back-down attitude to take the wielders of fake-plastic guitars to court.

I find it amusing that these companies are going to court over $424K considering their size.  It is even more amazing that Activision, which is much bigger than Valve and makes more money, is refusing payment.  It just goes to show that even the big corporations get in to seemingly petty disputes.

They should seriously just settle this in game.

An orchestrated tournament where two teams of 4 players are assembled from each company to battle it out in a series of Activision and Valve games.

Winner takes 2mil.

All we need now is to decide on the games, suggestions?
