Third Place - Lipton
Prize $100
Lipton's blog, Starfeeder, is based on material posted on Lipton's own website and includes info and media on all things Starcraft and Starcraft II with a few pictorial anecdotes thrown in for fun.
A Stracraft blog in a Warcraft world, Lipton had his work cut out for him. An early lead in the contest from his Kotaku'ed "A Gamer's Wedding" may have helped Lipton hold on to some momentum. But throughout the month he was forced to contend with a tide of WoW blogs that could not be overcome. Still, props to Lipton for fighting the good fight and bringing some variety to WoWRiot's content.
Second Place - Roma Victor
Prize $150
Roma Victor's blog, The Life e-Casual, publishes popular goings-on in the World of Warcraft, cutting diatribes, and the occasional mixed drink guide.
A crowd favorite and rightful emperor of all things casual, Roma managed that which doubters said could not be done. He won his place in the contest through the quality of his articles, topic selection, and writing ability. His most popular article did adhere to GameRiot law and concerned WoW arena.
First Place - Vir
Prize $250 to be donated to Gilda's Club Northern New Jersey
You heard that right. Vir is donating all of his winnings to this organization:
Gilda's Club is an essential complement to medical care for those living with cancer and their families and friends, to help them take control of their lives and learn to live with cancer, whatever the outcome. It is a place where people share and learn how to help themselves by helping others. The combination of activities through which members form a cancer support community are what make this such a unique place. More than 2,000 men, women and children touched by cancer have joined our special community.
from: www.gildasclubnnj.org
Vir's Blog, Serious Business, covers global events, U.S. politics, anecdotes, and of course the World of Warcraft. His most popular entry was the leaked Wrath of the Lich King patch notes which was featured on Slashdot.
There is an expectation everywhere you go, even on the internet, that people tend to walk lines similar to the one they talk. Luckily for the people at Gilda's Club; that does not appear to be the case with Vir. With this hand he joketh at catastrophe and that hand he giveth. Go figure.
----
Finally, I am pleased to report the contest is now a permanent monthly feature. July will see a revision based on May's results and user feedback so don't miss it!

Yeah I was tempted to put the cash towards a PS3, but I know someone who does charity work for Gilda's in NJ, and they're short on money this year.

I've got my 360 and my Wii (which is very dusty), so I think I'll manage.

judging people based on shock value is stupid,
altho i guess there will always be overly serious nerds that take what people write on blog forums super seriously like its a resume, IQ test, SAT's, grammar contest, spelling bee, etc. all wrapped up into one everytime they type on teh internetz ;p

Judging people PERIOD without knowing them well is stupid, but it can be useful and often is.

Yep we just reset the post counter and will be paying out most likely on a monthly basis. If people keep contributing, we'll up the prizes after a while to a) boost payout for the winners and b) allow more people (say top 5?) to win. Our sales team is also pushing for additional prizes to drop in like a prize pack (couple games, dvds, **** like that).
And noone except Jason/Kyle/Jasi/Ming are disqualified from winning

Congrats to all the winners. Wonder if the same 3 can win it this month as well.
Also, you guys should post the stats for all the blogs, I'd like to see how many more people go to Ming's blog than the 2nd most visited.
