I've had some requests of people wanted to see this action and they finally released some internal developer walkthroughs for media consumption.  As I mentioned the other day this is sort of a Shenmue meets a choose your own adventure book set within the real world during some serial killer rampaging around town it seems.  You can check part one of three below and further down for the rest of the videos.

I think a lot of people have assumed the game footage they have seen so far is all cinematics because it looks so incredible.  Some of the best graphics on a console and the rival almost anything I've seen on a PC.  However much of these "cinematics" are real moments within the game just without the quick time event popups.  Check out the rest of the footage and be sure to pass along your thoughts.

And if that wasn't enough here are parts four and five respectively.

Heavy Rain is a PS3 exclusive and it is due for release later on this year.  Personally it seems like a unique take on a story driven narrative and I am all for something different assuming it plays well.  This is definitely on my radar.

Should get InFamous.  Played the Uncharted 2 MP beta last night as well, very awesome.

I'm going to wait 1 more week for Prototype and then I'll decide if I pick up this or inFamous. I can only bear the maximum of one open world game per year and Prototype just looks so much more badass.

How good is inFamous in your opinion compared to games like Spider-Man or Crackdown?

Never played Crackdown.  But I'd say its better than pretty much all the spider-man games.  It has that slight GTA vibe, seems pretty massive in size so far.

Prototype is on my list as well.  Going to try to find time for it if it turns out solid.

I loved Fahrenheit up untill it turned into The Matrix, lol. I really hope they don't make that mistake again in this game.

so did anyone announce any good (potentially competitive) multiplayer games at E3?

New stuff?  Not really.  The only FPS games off the top of my head were like Modern Warfare 2, MAG, Halo ODST and Halo Breach, Bioshock 2 and Wolfenstein.  At least in the "known" franchise front with multiplayer aspects.  There were others but a bit unpredictable as to how their MP games will take off.

For some reason I made the jump between competitive and FPS.  =p

No MMOs besides WoW have become competitive and even that is debatable.  (RNG ftl).

I think balance is more of an issue in other MMO's than RNG.

Also player base. Guild Wars could probably be really competitive, just doesn't have the interest from the community at large.

In a game where your deaths don't don't end the game and the story branches a multitude of times I don't think it matters all that much.  This isn't "if you dont QTF fast enough game over".  The game continues regardless of what happens.

Unlike say God of War where you could be in the middle of an amazing fight and if you don't hit the QTE fast enough its game over.

yeah, ok. could be good. i hope it's good. but i remain skeptical. as far as i've seen, qte has never been done right.

the rest of the game looks so awesome though. gonna pick myself up a ps3 when they stop being **** about the price.

The first impression of this game reminded me of Indigo Prophecy.. I just realized that it's the same maker. I never finished that game.. Indigo Prophecy. I really liked the game when I was playing it though.
