Stay tuned for updates. Sony has a hell of a show from Microsoft to topple. Seems to be a slight delay so far. Not sure what the deal is. Be sure to catch up on my hopes and expectations for the Sony show here.And we are off... video montage of some games. Red Dead, Ratchet, Prototype, Brutal Legend, Arkham, Madden, Gran Turismo, all sorts of stuff highlighted by Queen's "One Nation". Jact Trenton coming to the stage. He makes jokes about leaks regarding their content (PSP Go!, Slim PS3?), lol. Lots of PR talk about Playstation brand.
PS2 talk. *Yawn* I get it still sells like Mcnuggets at lunch time but that is the last thing I want to hear about. Well that and Trenton having hemorrhoids. PS2 is still set for another new 100 titles this year.
Talking about InFamous and its success so far this year. 35 titles this year that are completely exclusive to Playstation.
Uncharted 2 talk. Beta for multiplayer opens tonight! (Yes! code came with InFamous). They are about to show of some singleplayer. Uncharted looks amazing, incredible graphics in some sort of mountain canyon. The draw distance seems impressive. Drake vs attack chopper, this could get messy. Chopper blows a hole in the side of a building, keeps on shooting Drake as he tried to hide out. Even the particle effects are impressive.
MAG time. 256 reasons to be excited (number of online players). They are going to show live gameplay from the first person shooter. Zipper Interactive does good work, looks like we are going to see live 256 players at once. Wow... from around the country players (devs too) are going to be in on this demonstration. He is voicing over gameplay including various options within the game and gameplay styles like bombing various locations. Game features a top down command view as well. Will be running on the show floor with 256 players all being able to play. Should be out this fall.
PSP time. Talks about some the great games on the system. Assassin's Creed Bloodlines, Final Fantasy, etc. Pink PSP with Hannah Montanna, lol. (Not my thing, but mainstream appeal I am sure).
PSP Go time. Worst kept E3 secret for sure but still very cool. Completely digital, no UMD slot. Not replacing PSP3000 or UMD, they will all be marketed and supported still. This is just a new option. Launching Media Go to transfer media from the PC to PSP. Lower dev kit cots to spur development. Available on Oct. 1st for 249 dollars and Euros in both locations. Nov. 1 in Japan for 26800 yen. Video store available now to the PSP as well. Showtime, G4, E!, HD Net and more are all joining the PSN Video Store.
Kazunouri from Polyphony Digital is here... the rumored Gran Turismo for PSP? Yup, there it is running on the PSP Go. Says it is a full scale Gran Turismo game running at 60fps. 800 cars, 35 tracks, 60 layout various of those tracks. (Hey, about some Gran Turismo 5 news while you are up there Kaz?). Can trade and share cars between garages and other players. Video shown.
Kojima is here to talk Metal Gear on the PSP. Metal Gear Peace Walker (as rumored here), 10 years after MGS3. This is a Snake story, the team behind MGS4 is working on this, a true sequel to MGS3 it seems. Trailer time! Snake looking as good as he can on the PSP, story revolves around the rise of Outer Heaven. There were four Snakes at the end of this, what the hell... due in 2010.
Resident Evil Portable being shown. Lists off a bunch of upcoming PSP games like Little Big Planet, SOCOM, MotorStormm, Soul Calibur Broken Destiny, Fat Princess (on the PSP!), Rock Band, etc.
PSN talk time. 24 million registered users. 50 classics coming to the PSN for download. Home is booming and plenty of special Home themed areas are in the works like SOCOM and InFamous, etc. Home video time.
Yes, FF7 is coming to the PSN as of today.
PS3 montage time. Uncharted 2, InFamous, Madden 10, FF13 (new footage), MAG, Batman, Ghostbusters, Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2, Saw, Tekken 6, Tiger Woods, Some crazy hamster game (what the hell was that?) DCU, Fuel, LBP (new content), Bioshock 2, God of War 3.
Agent, the new Rockstar game which is exclusive to Playstation 3 is mentioned. Espionage and assassins in the era of the 70s.
Assassin's Creed 2 demo time. More diversity this time around. Takes place right after the first. The details are much better than the original, graphically and tactics it seems. This time around he has a flying machine. Fireworks throughout the sky as you fly around. Double headed blade stab, rofl, wow. 30 weapons, more with use of the PSP title. The games are both (PSP game) due this holiday.
New Final Fantasy XIII footage. Some of the shots from MS footage but a lot of it is new. Some new characters show so far. All cut scenes so far. In-game battle footage, awesome... all sorts of creatures and summons shown. Very awesome, definitely need to get video of this up here.
WOA! Final Fantasy 14, the ONLY console you can play it on when it launches in 2010. WOW! Footage is impressive. More of a classic spin then modern tech based. It is online, "A new online epic begins".
New motion controller being shown, prototype at this point. 1:1 tracking via the Playstation Eye. Camera based, the tracking of the Eye is very impressive. The controller seems to look a bit like a microphone/wand and the eye is able to recognize it from almost anywhere. These guys are clearly devs and not PR guys, they seem a bit nervous showing this off. This blows the Wii away, even Motion Plus when its accuracy. Has a trigger for use in FPS games, etc. Sword fighting, etc. Due for launch in Spring of 2010.
Mod Nation Racers is next after discussing new LBP costumes (Jack Sparrow). This is a game in the veil of LBP when it comes to creating your own racers, cars, etc. They looks kind of like Sack folk bit with a bit more plastic. Weapons, real-time physics, etc. Creating tracks seems very diverse and easy. Drag terrain around create what you want. Add trees, sheep (lol), etc. 2010.
Team ICO gaming information. "The Last Guardian". The "third game in the trilogy". Some of the imagery we saw in the leaked "Project TRICO" video. The big winged beast is all shot with arrows and the boy hops on board for a ride. Extended footage here with more interactions between the boy and the beast.
Gran Turismo 5 time. Mmmmm. Sorry but Forza 3 does not look as good as this in the graphics department. Video incoming.
First few minutes of God of War 3! Kratos juses the blades to ride a harpy across a canyon as there was no other way. Beats on it to make it move. Helios fighting one of the Titans. Kratos joins the fray. The jampile of monsters on Kratos looks impressive. He is now fighting a an armored centuar. Wow, he just gutted him! LOL The gore is in full effect that is for sure. He just stabbed a Chimera with a horn. The demo is live on the show floor. Due for release in March of 2010 much like I expected.
And that is a wrap. Quite the show. Wow... back in a bit with thoughts and videos

I really don't want to hear about their extremely old system selling to people who can't afford the PS3. I don't want to sound mean, but seriously, the people watching this are watching it for PS3, not a system I played when I was 12.

I have this strong urge to buy the PSP Go!. It'll be my third after the original and the Darth Vader one. The bad part is the fact I don't even use it anymore...

I don't get why they don't advertise that many of the PS3 network games (including the PSOne titles) can be put and played on the PSP. Seems like a major feature, and I was jealous when I looked at my PS3's DLC and saw that I could put Wild Arms on my stolen PSP...

Well if it is a full blown mmorpg then you should probably expect a monthly fee, and if there isn't one then expect a lot of xpacs.

I doubt you will see a monthly fee as like Simple said, its a free network. Microtransactions, expansions, maybe. I wouldn't expect a fee though.

Ps2 network was free (after you got the network adapter) as well and their was still a monthly fee for FFXI. Trust me, played it for years. You can expect a fee

I like it more than Natal, only because there is no insane child that will take over the world. It also looks like it'll be a lot better for actual games.

its just the engineering prototype... i think the actual functionality of it looks pretty darn impressive. sony is definitely ****ting all over nintendo. this mod racer game looks way better than mario kart. ff14 will be a huge hit too... ff11 was one of the best selling mmorpgs

it is pretty impressive, and I'm sure it'll be a lot cheaper than natal. xbox basically just got one upped by a lot.
