The 2nd news conference of the day is headlined by the crew at Sony.  We will be going live at 2:37 (now) EST with all the gaming goodness.  Follow along if you like on G4TV or http://livewire.ign.com/2008/e3/index.html.

*Videos now added*

If Sony or Square talk about a FF7 remake I would totally forget the FF13 failure of yesterday.  Though I realize it is highly unlikely.  :)

Lots of typical manufacturer hype.  This stuff bores me, move along Jack Trentton!  Though this year supposedly be the year of the PS3.  We shall see.  Talking about Blu-Ray now, hey I love it too, but move on.

PS3 time.

Resistance 2
The first game to hit the stage.  Single player mode.  Holy ****!  It is the super huge monster aka Leviathan.   I posted a ways back.  You are firing rockets at it, this is nuts!  The beast is outside and you climbing a building to get a better view.  It has to be 20-30 stories high.  Wow!  It just picks you up off the top of the building and you fire a rocket at its mouth and he drops you.  Crazy. Can't wait to put this video up.

He talks about scale, and how massive the game will be.  And hypes the trailer.  I will post this as soon as it is online.  Here is a crappy copy for now...

The game's trailer can be watched here, which is obviously a bit different than the walk through.  :)

Little Big Planet time?
This game will be key to user generated content notes Jack, with social networking to boot.  They are going to show off a LBP level with Alex Evans from Media Molecule the LBP studio.  Har  har funny, the level is bar charts on Sony's financial status and console sales.  It is interesting, but not mind blowing, let's see the actual game.  That was it I guess... game coming October.

Switching gears to the PS2.  The console that will live forever!  Some EA games shown.  Singstar, The Force Unleashed and more.  Man those graphics are outdated.  :)  The PS2 is only $129 apparently, what a deal!  A new PS2 bundle with Batman Lego, the Justice League DVD at only $149.  I shouldn't bash the PS2, I loved mine, it was just time to move on.

PSN discussion time.

Ratchet and Clank Future: Quest for Booty
.  A smaller downloadable title via PSN.  Graphics look as good as Tools of Destruction.  Some new features for Rachet and a price of $15.

Trailer showing off a ton of new games.  Pixel Junk, Ratchet, new Pain level, Fat Princess, Flower (sharp graphics for sure).  Siren some survival horror type thing, this I am digging.

Talking Gran Turismo 5 Prologue's Gran Turismo TV.  I enjoy this service and they put some cool auto related videos on there for your enjoyment.  Gear heads and racing fans, hell general fans of cars should love this stuff.  New cars being reviewed and tested, and TOP GEAR from the BBC is coming to GTTV, hella nice.

Talks Trophys and now Playstation Home.  Playstation Home progress video.  Graphics look better than the old demos.  There is specific Uncharted, Warhawk and Resistance rooms with various game features, etc.

PSN's video store is in the house.  Log right in to the PSN store and switch to the video button.  The store background changes according to the movie studio.  Details on each movie with previews, size, time, ratings, etc.  HD and SD movies on the service.  $15 to buy, and a $6 for HD rental $4 for SD rental for "Cloverfield".  You can take your videos to go via the PSP and a USB cable.

Video store goes live tonight!  Nice.  Not my bag, but many will love this.

PSP time.

PSP new entertainment pack with National Treasure 2, Rachet and Clank Size Matters, a 1GB memory stick, and echochrome download for $199.

Resistance Retribution on the PSP.  More Chimera badassery, featuring some pretty good graphics for a PSP game.  Force Unleashed is shown, Madden, LocoRocco 2, Super Stardust Portable, all sorts of stuff.

Back to the PS3, finally...  Talking about working with Google and Youtube.  Uploading videos straight from the PS3 to Youtube.  Live news, weather, and web cams - "Life with Playstation", available at the end of the month.

DC Universe Online
Jim Lee!  Woooo one of my favorite comic artists ever.  He is one of the leads on DCUO, Executive Creator/Director.  Big MMO fan apparently, addicted he says.  Raves about his EQ skills.  No wonder he hasn't been doing much comic work lately.  Work with villains and heroes within the DCU with your own created characters.  Trailer time...  Supes, Batman, Wonder Woman, taken from the comics, with art straight from key artists. The graphics look impressive, this is an MMO I could get in to.

80GB PS3 will now be $399.  Wow, nice deal!  Same functionality as the 40GB with double the storage.  This pack will be available in September.

Boring video of devs and publishers raving about the PS3.

More PS3 footage.  Pure, Little Big Planet, MGS4, SOCOM, Ghostbusters (this looks cool), Soul Calibur 4, The Agency (spy based MMO), Naruto (ming will love this), RE5, SingStar, Killzone 2, 50 Cent Blood on the Sand.

GOD OF WAR 3 TRAILER!
Alright... now this I can dig.  "In the end, there will be only chaos".  Graphics look sweeeeet, but no gameplay.  =/

Infamous
Roam the planet as a hero, a worn down planet at that.  The scenery is all beat down, ala Fallout 3.  The main player has a bunch of powers, lightning, force like effects.

MAG: Massive Action Game

256 players online, 8 man teams of squad based action, characters improve and grow.  Trailer time.  A massive shooter based experience.  Squads and tanks roaming the desert side.  A view from the top, ala an RTS is shown.  Seems like a cross betwene SOCOM and a futuristic shooter.

And that is wrap to Sony's show.  I'll update with videos as they come out.

No massive announcements to steal back the FF13 hype.  God of War 3 was a nice, but expected surprise, that and the Resistance 2 walk through were the highlights for me, and DCU Online is right up there as well.

A big thanks to Gametrailers.com for being so Johnny on the spot with the videos and letting people embed them.

The Top Gear track will be on the full version of GT5 as well.

I just d/l each episode by torrent each week so GTTV isnt that big a deal.

So far on GTTV I have gotten a kick out of the behind the scenes with the cars in the game, and the game creators testing them.  That kind of stuff always entertains me.

Ah, excellent. PS3 Coverage. Hopefully they'll go over something about the PS3s RAM bottleneck...

The only reason I see DCUO having any potential is because Jim Lee has a pretty big role in how it's realized. Though I can't imagine getting an MMO for the PS3 if it's coming out for the PC as well, just not a console genre.

Jim Lee alone gives me hope for this game.  I am definitely intrigued.

I'll only buy it if it's on the PC.  I may end up buying a PS3 next year but I wouldn't ever play an MMO on a console.  As it is I hate RTS games on consoles...

Playing on a console could be rough.  But the PS3 does have USB keyboard mouse support, if they were smart, they would build that into the game.  I could get behind that.

It is planned for the PC, so that solves that debate for both of us.

Hell ya.  Now all I need is confirmation that I won't have to play w/console players...

Not to give you crap Oggy, but the obvious choice would have been to wait for E3 and any announcements.  I certainly wouldn't have settled with a 40GB, as MGS is basically free with a 80GB.  Could have been worse, they could have just dropped the price of the 40GB today by $50 and not sept, and really pissed you off.  :)

I got the 40gig because I didn't care about backwards compad, but then a few days ago I wanted to play max payne after I saw the trailer. OH WELL LIFE GOES ON. maybe I can sell my ps3 to someone for the price of the 80gig.

p.s. I didn't even think about E3 when I bought it :(

MAG looks cool.  Gonna be laggy though on the PSN.  Though some games seem to run half decent online.

GT5P and various sports games I play online seem to run pretty smooth on the PS3.  I have to try any online shooters or anything like thought.

I also have a damn good router, and top notch cable (for the US at least), speeds.

My main issue is the difference between lag on PSN compared to XBL when I am using the same connection/router.

MAG looks like Call of Duty 4, which could be both good and bad.
Good being the fact that I enjoyed COD4.
Bad being I got bored after a month or so and never played it again.

Well, judging from the video which are always better looking than gameplay, I doubt it will have the quality of COD4.  Thats too bad you don't play anymore though, I still do.  But I'd play more if my clan wanted to be competitive again.  But yeah, watching the vid again, it definitely doesn't look like that's footage made from gameplay.
