Leading off tonight with the story of a 10-year-old girl getting tased. You guys say I am so anti-taser, which I am at times, but I challenge you to read this story and find any justification for this happening. Her mom should face punishment for "authorizing it" and any cop that needs and uses a taser to subdue a 10-year old needs to find a new job. The mayor of their town wants the FBI and state police to look in to this incident so that is one plus.
Our friends down under seemingly still buy in to professional wrestling. Hulk Hogan and Rick Flair "got in to it" at a press conference and the Aussies report it like its fact and some sort of brawl between Ron Artest and Allen Iverson at a post-game press conference. You can watch it all you want, I don't mind, but can't we call come to the consensus by now that 99.5% of it all is staged? Read the comments as some of them are nearly priceless.
Movie popcorn is amazing. Deny it all you want but sitting down with a bag-of-crap-that-isn't-good-for-you is half the fun of going to the theater along with being blown away by sound and picture quality you can't get in your own home. Apparently however movie popcorn is bad for you, like all awesome things in life, so you shouldn't eat a lot of it. Read up at MSNBC just how bad it is then when you giggle with glee going to see New Moon this weekend you can sneak in tofu or some ****.
![]() Does Megan think she is some sort of gymnast? You know what, I don't care, I just approve. More at Egotastic and these were the outtakes... |
The Road director John Hillcoat sat down with Comingsoon.net to talk about his adaption of the much-loved book. They discuss his work with Cormac McCarthy, the books writer, in post-production to help the movie come to life and the differences between the two mediums. They talk about Viggo, shooting locations, etc. Check it out and get ready for The Road November 25th when kicks New Moon in the werewolf testicles.
The FCC has outlined plans for its larger role within the world of U.S. broadband. You guys know I am weary of government intervention in such a market but they have trampled over internet access and broadband access for years at both the Federal (USF), State and local level (exclusive contracts, denying competition) so it seems they may be needed to help balance things back out. The good news is they may be on top of the issues that soon may face cell phone wireless access that soon may dominate the airwaves.
Vir sent this to me late last night and while it has gone viral on the web already I figured I would post it here in case Zilea is looking for that someone special!
And in case you already saw that one here is an awesome boxing K.O.:

There's plenty of possible justification for the tasing, though many people would disagree that it's valid:
The cop didn't want to be kicked in the balls anymore and for some reason couldn't control the kid normally. The kid needed to learn to respect this and all cops' authoritae. The kid is a whiner who deserves it. The alternative (perhaps an arm-lock or something) could've actually been more dangerous than the tasering. In the long run it's better that the kid gets tough-love rather than be allowed to act out. Etc.
I don't buy much of that and think it was unnecessary, but I don't have much of a problem with tasering anyway so don't really care. Speaking of which I don't care about Megan Fox. The celebrity celebrity fad should've died with Paris Hilton, I prefer my hoes with real talent. It's still early for Cutler and he's a good QB. That's not a KO in the video, though it is really cool.

Cops don't hand out punishments, that is the job of courts, for obvious reasons.

This is horrible. So the parent calls the police because basically she's a horrible parent who can't control her child? Then they taser a 10 year old?!? Unless she was holding a gun/knife there is no reason for that, a quick kick in the face will take care of business.

OH GOD POLICE BRUTALITY!!! RAWR RAWR!
The way it went down, nobody was hurt - not longterm anyhow, and the situation was defused.

I am of the mind the police should not be under any obligation to restrain a 10 year old in its own house. This is the job of the parent, and the cops should not have responded to the call imo.
The dad was apparently very upset when he learned about all this. My question: Why not call the dad before the cops?

So let's assume for a second that this kid decided to keep thrashing and broke an arm, leg, wrist, etc hitting a wall, or the floor? Let's assume for a second that the cop grabbed the kids arm with no intention of hurting the child, and she bucked and thrashed and sprained/broke something?

A grown man couldn't sufficiently restrain a child? Despite him likely weighing roughly three times her weight? You must've met some strong kids. I've never heard of one that could actually break their own limbs either.
But I tend to agree with dcs, the police shouldn't even have been called in to resolve something that parents should be able to handle themselves.
If this kid was messed up before, I bet she's even better now! Imagine the wonders that a light tasering and a night in the "youth shelter" can do. That'll teach her. Yeeeeah....

i have to admit I expected the Bears to be pretty good this year, even though I did say in one of ur blogs that I thought the Vikings were the best team but they didn't have a QB(this was before they got Favre). Now I know why people say Cutler reminds them of Favre (when he's good, he's really good and when he's bad, he's ******* terrible). I think the Bears would do well to divorce themselves from Lovie Smith he's not the right coach for that team or that city.

Funny you bring up Lovie as I have been saying the same thing to my Bears friends the past 5-6 or weeks. Everyone wants to point fingers at various units here and there within the team or positions. But there are enough general issues with pretty good talent all around that to me a lot of blame has to sit with the coaching staff.
Lovie cant live off one super bowl appearance forever and maybe it is time for a change.

The browns have sucked all my life. I am a Steelers fan, and have been all my life (I am also a fan of P. Manning, and would watch any team he plays for) but I would like to have a good team closer to me so I can go to more games. Been to two Cinci games this year though, and have tickets for another so at least there is that. Of course up till this year they were in the same ship as the browns. Pitsburgh is a 4.5 hour drive from my house, and tickets are not cheap.

Make sure you read The Road before you see the movie. Its a short book, would only take a few hours to finish.

I think the age for a human to be tasered is from 5 years old on up right?
Megan Fox has a weird way of letting out farts.
I love movie popcorn too, makes up for the fact I had to get out of the house to go watch a movie with the ****ty public. Just don't get butter on it, should be better for you that way. Probably a lot of salt in it, enough to attract deer.

I hate popcorn unless it is kettlecorn. Usually buy gummy bears and throw em in my gf purse to snack on. She is the reason I am at the theater 99% of the time anyway. At least I get to pick the movie, but I generally dislike being in a theater with so many other people.

Yeah, kettlecorn is great, my mom gave me some a few years ago when I visited and its good stuff. Yep, I hate being in a crowded theater as well, also the seats suck ass, I like to recline. Watching a movie at home is for superior imo. I usually go to the cinema in the morning/early afternoon to skip the crowds.

Pretty sure the media reported Hogan losing an arm wrestle with a female sports minister too but nobody actually believed it was real.

FCC are also really in favor of net neutrality so I like the FCC. Charging for bandwith, disabling apps'/ports and other **** is absurd and republicans should be shot in the head for opposing it, saying its regulations.

Yes the Bears have non-existent run game. Matt Forte blew up last year and it is hard to repeat as a dominant running back in the NFL. However.... your best running back is on the bench and playing special teams. Adrian Peterson of Georgia Southern University (Not to be confused with the vikings AP) averages over 5 yards a carry when they do put him in. His is a smaller back, but the boy can run. I really wish he would find another team willing to take a chance on him.
