Not a whole lot going on this past weekend.  No big movies unless you are in to Michael Jackson.  I did a bit of bowling, a few drinks and even found time to get my drunk friends home, minus the one I left downtown.  That is what happens when you chase the split-tail and don't close the deal.  +1 for Hurt Locker owning faces

Starting the night off with this awesome video of Manu Ginobili ruining Dracula's night:

Is this what this country has come to?  We are now suing Louisville Slugger for making aluminum baseball bats without warnings on them?  I feel for the family of the 18-year-old who lost their son from a ball hit off of a aluminum bat but this is just ridiculous.  Should they sue Rawlings for the ball not having a warning it?  What about Wilson gloves for not noting "glove should be between ball and face when trying to catch balls in the air"?  I really hope this gets tossed out on appeal.

A new uTorrent is in the works and is beta as we speak.  The benefit this time around is that the protocol uses uTP and not TCP therefore it won't infer with web surfing, games, VOIP, etc.  The uTP transfers will auto throttle when needed providing you with a high quality of service while downloading at the same time.  I like this move though I do have some concerns considering uTorrent's attempt at going semi-legit.  Plus this could have ISPs dragging their feet if it becomes mainstream as they may have less desire to improve speeds considering the high use of BT traffic on their networks.

Google Voice,
while simply awesome, isn't appeasing everyone.  It seems Google has taken to blocking certain telephone exchanges that were abusing the system (though legally) and costing them a fortune.  For a free service Google didn't want to pony up the cash to cover the massive amount of calls from these few exchanges (who are making millions off of them) and simply cut them off.  The question we should then ask is if Google Voice should be regulated like a telco.  It sounds more like the FCC needs to overhaul their own rules instead of going after Google.  On a side note, I can't wait to use my Google Voice # with the Android, free calls and txts is a nice bonus.

More NSFW images here.  .Lorena from Met Art.
Men In Black 3 is in the works.  Everyone can rest easy with the presumption that Will Smith will once again save Earth from an alien threat.  I am kind of hoping he can save the theaters from having to run Hancock 2 but that may be hard to accomplish even for someone as talented as himself.

Hulk Hogan is back on the Epic Drop with this candid interview with Time.com.  I almost picked up his book the other day at Best Buy as sounds like an interesting read into some of the crap he has been dealing with since leaving wrestling.  Say your prayers brother!

Firstshowing.net takes a peak at this years potential "Best Picture" nominees.  While it is still a bit hard to handicap the award thanks to all the late movies that will show up I agree with their take on Hurt Locker being right up there near the top.  So far it is probably my favorite film of the year.

AICN has one of the first reviews up on the new Nightmare on Elm Street film.  Unfortunately it doesn't sound all that great at this point even with Jackie Earle Haley.  Just goes to show that the continual rebooting of old-school horror isn't doing all that well.  These aren't hard films to make, it isn't like they were Oscar winners, why can't they make decent remakes?

More sports tonight for laughs this time thanks to the Las Vegas Cobras in what very well may have been "betting with bookie" gone wrong.

LMAO at the football vid... that looked like his instincts took over... Ball in hands, must tackle man carrying ball.

Reminds me of the time I was a little kid playing parks and rec basketball and I was in the back court and we had an inbound from the opposite baseline. I was supposed to be back there to give the inbound pass and outlet an then bring the ball up the court. Instead, when I caught it I turned and laid it into the hoop which at the time was right next to me and I scored a shot for the other team...

I'm sure it looks like a hug to you homosexuals, but it's something we heterosexual men call a "tackle" or "takedown".  You may see similar moves in other real sports such as MMA, as opposed to the ***ball you watch for entertainment.

Soccer? It's called football you ******* mong. Don't even bother trying to argue the original name either. It's not futsal or soccer. Also I like how the "real sports" you listed are back water in the grand scheme of things. You're probably trying to ridicule the most loved and biggest sport in the world because you're absolutely terrible at it. I mean just kicking a ball imagine being terrible at that...

Keep on trucking though 40 year old troll:DDDDDD:D:D:D:xDDDPPPP

My bubble is the most powerful country in the world.  What third world country are you from where they still care about communist kickball?

How does something like that baseball bat thing even make it to court? Is there not someone who says "ok, no, you cannot waste our time and money for this. Sorry, go home."

Yeah I've heard of that other crap, That coffee incident was legit. That coffee was WAY hotter than it should have been. Not millions of dollars hot, but should at least make it to court for maybe hospital cost.

Some of this stuff.... I mean is there not a clerk or something to review this **** and just throw it out before money is wasted on it?

I thought there was usually a hearing before things like that even went to court. The judge at that time must have considered the lawsuit to hold water (how I don't know).

Correct me if I'm wrong.

People are retarded and as MOST dumb americans do, they take it to court....I bet the case that ended up with chainsaw manufacturers putting "do not stop with genitals" on them was far more interesting, even though its fueled by more idiocy.

I figured Orton would be a better FFB QB than Cutler by the time the year was up but they are about on par right now.

Thankfully I have both Rivers and Favre.  2 of the top 10 QBs in my league.

Yeah, I thought about picking up Orton in my league as he's a FA, but he wouldn't have done any better, plus I figured Cuter at CLE was good for 2 tds.  Damn him.

I drafted really RB heavy (First 3 rounds) figuring I could get by with a mid tier QB.  I wanted Favre but I'm sharing the team with a friend and he wanted Cutler.  Arrrg.

There is a guy in my league that has Favre and Brady but the rest of his team is ****.  I'm going to trade a RB for one of them.  I have to start 2 RB's, one is peterson who I won't trade, but other than that I'm loaded at RB with mid-tier guys:

Tomlinson (someone actually CUT him in week 6...lol.)
Marion Barber
Clinton Portis
Tim Hightower
Ryan Moates (picked him up just to screw some dude that had slayton).

I don't support the lawsuit, but I'd love to see metal alloy bats flat out banned.  They don't add anything to the game, but increase the risk to the pitcher by quite a bit.

If you want more home runs in your scrub league, bring in the fences 30 feet.

Id have zero issue with them being removed in little league, high schools or college.  The pro game uses wood, so should everything else.

Leave the juiced up metal for softball where it belongs.

Should they sue Rawlings for the ball not having a warning it?

That is a valid point you're raising. the ball should definitely be softer if its able to kill someone. They dont have to develop another ball, but they could cover the current ball used in fur to soften the impact.
preferably bunny fur, one of the softers furs you can get in mass, and they are not on the list of endangered species.

Could wear a pitcher's mask. They retail for about 50 dollars. It'll save you having to get a doctor to realign your jaw later in life if you get hit by a ball if you don't die. :P

thats a better option actually. I reckon with some bat hits the fur gets loose pretty fast, and u'd constantly have to replace the balls, making it pretty expensive in the long run.
A pitchers mask covered with fur for extended protection might be the best option.
