As cool as Gib'sama and Stryider may be I believe it may be a good idea to keep my rare visits to Arizona just that, rare, especially Phoenix. It seems Phoenix is now the #2 ranked kidnapping capital of the world behind only that crap hole Mexico City. Watch the video below:
Can someone explain to me between crap like this and illegals using that ranchers land the other night why we can't do something about this? Couldn't some of the Porkulous bill gone towards that infamous border wall that will never get done? Surely building a wall would create jobs. I am guessing Washington won't care till it hits somewhere they actually care about.
There was a big uproar yesterday thanks to Amazon selling a "rape based" video game. You can see a screenshot of the page as the product has now been removed. While it certainly is disgusting and not something that strikes my fancy are we really going to make a big deal out of something like that considering all the flat out violence in video games? Why The discrepancy? Our pro-violence, anti-sex values?
Harry at it AICN had the chance to take a visit to the set of Inglorious Basterds. He runs down some key scenes with minimal spoilers and talks about some of the footage and set pieces he has scene. While Harry is often considered the ultimate fanboy this is still a great read.Â
The former head of EMI has come out stating that the fight against P2P piracy is useless. I love how these guys only have an "awakening" after they their jobs. If only they stood up to the RIAA while they actually worked at these labels and went about changing their business model.
Yes even on his way out the door little George Bush was up to his old shady practices. This time trying to pass conceal/carry gun laws on national park land even though it was completely illegal. I have a feeling it won't be long before this overturned. I really don't see a reason for it not to be allowed but they should go through the proper channels to achieve it. Not the "Bush way".
Another illegal search and seizure attempt at Walmart thanks to shoddy receipt policies. The crusade continues! This time they actually took this lady's paid for goods and wouldn't let her leave with them. Thankfully someone had some common sense and let her leave eventually. Fight the power!
Now this is a stimulus bill I could get behind. I realize others have offered this solution but few nearly as hot as her... Surely this would increase consumer spending.
While not the knock down, drag out brawl I was hoping for this is still quite impressive. This guy could give some MMA hopefuls some rear naked choke lessons.
more next week!x-small;">

I don't think it's because of anti-sex values - I really wouldn't equate western (especially America) countries' love/hate relationship with sex with the distaste for rape. I think it's to do with the way we see killing as neccessary and acceptable in some cases, but torture isn't, really. Take America - tortureis never used as a punishment, but death is. Now, torture is seen as an acceptable means to an end to some extent, but much less acceptable in general to people than violence and death.

I suppose that is a pretty valid point. There are games that have torture, though probably not to the interactive depth as say this rape game may have offered. Often that kind of thing is cut scenes, or in the background, and not "hands on".

Look at WotLK content in WOW, there are TONS of torture quests, and to be honest, I really didn't enjoy doing them.

Wow, the product description of that game... especially "like in previous installments" suggesting it's a long running series.
I think traditionally and historically we are a lot more open to violence than sex (religion being the #1 factor), and I don't know about you but I'd rather get my faced smashed in than my ass smashed in.

Leave it to the Japanese. They love their youngins, tentacle porn and rape apparently.

Being Japanese myself, I woud say it's not that there are more weirdos, it's that they are more open. As a proportion of population say, I wouldn't think there is a huge huge difference than to Western countries. It's more to do with the fact they are more "comfortable" with others knowing they are ****** up.

I really dont why I even feel the way I do about that game. A rape game ... just saying it makes you want to shoot the ones who made it. But when you think about it, how the hell are we able to justify a game til GTA where you are able to go on a complete rampage and slay everything in your way?
Oh and slapnuts, why are you bringing racism to our doorstep? A WHITE MAN CHOKING A BLACK MAN?
Its like RE all over again, wth?

I hear ya. It is a weird standard. I can run around in dead rising with a massive drill litteraly shredding zombies and humans alike, blood flowing everywhere, etc.Â
And I don't think that guy is white but you are right, it is bound to be racism for someone. =p

I think a rape game takes it to a whole other level. Yeah GTA is pretty ****** up, but the game isn't meant to actually promote killings of mass innocents. If you played the game on the straight and narrow, you'd generally end up killing bad people who had it coming. I obviously havn't seen the rape game, but assuming the premise is that it has you go and rape people...well, the intent and direction is so much worse. Also the combination of physical and sexual violence is in general more ****** up than what is in GTA.

While I agree with you, that GTA is easier to justify because it doesnt promote you going on a rampage killing innocent people but only "bad" people - its still killing people and you have the option to actually do those "horrible" things...like opening fire on random innocent people.
Saints Row 2 is also a good example. Again, it follows the basic principles of GTA, but you still have the option to go nuts and kill everything.
I just find it wierd its more accepted to kill in a video game - when its a bigger crime then rape. Although you can argue that raping leaves a greater mark, taking someones life also affects those around the dead person quite a lot.
Dont get me wrong, I'm not trying to defend this rape game, I just found it semi wierd that a "rape" game is so bad, when we use so much of our free time killing in video games.

Honestly, that idea for a stimulus doesn't sound like it makes a whole lot of sense. You give people some money back, in these economic times I'd guess most people would stash it instead of spending it.

I don't know if I agree with that. People may not rush out and buy new cars and houses but I have a feeling a lot of debt would get paid off and people would at least become a little frugal than they are right now.

Unfortunately, paying off debt doesn't help much in the way of boosting the economy.
Tax cuts are not the kind of economic stimulus that would re-ignite consumer confidence, and there’s proof of that south of the border.
A study of the U.S. tax rebates of May 2008 found that only 20% of those tax cuts ever got spent. The rest went to debt payment, savings, or purchase of imports. The study found that a dollar of tax cuts in the U.S led to only 10¢ in stimulus.

not to mention the falacy of "I can spend my money better than the government"
Yeah... be right back, gonna go take my money and build roads, better broadband internet, hire a military, and save my neighborhood from wild fires.
OH MY GOD AN EXTRA $2,000 A YEAR! gonna go buy a house and create a dozen new jobs with that kind of cold hard cash.
I'm not saying that all taxes are good, but all taxes certainly aren't bad, and neither is all government spending. The government has the ability to spend money in ways that are impossible for us to do and necessary for us to survive as a civilization. Obviously there is a balance that needs to be struck, and in times of recession like this, the balance should swing more toward government spending to jumpstart the private sector once again.

Man that video pissed me off. How much longer until we stop listening to the ******* lib tards and put that ******* border fence up? People need to stop doing drugs. We need to kick out all the illegals. And then we need to close our ******* border. 1 kidnapping a day? That's ******* insane. We got thousands of people getting their heads cut off right on the border. We got one dude killing hundreds of people in acid baths right on the border. End this **** before it spreads throughout the whole ******* country. Get them the **** out of our country and close that damn border. I don't care if it costs 50 billion dollars. Just do it. ****. And if hispanic voters get pissed than too ******* bad.

Well said sir, well said. I was reading up on the worries over the environmental impact, and the border towns that "survive" off these illegals business when they make it across (what a joke). Are these worth the sacrificing of lives and the all the issues that come with our own citizens being kidnapped regularly?

I live in Gilbert, not Phoenix. Gilbert is one of the safest cities in the nation. But either way, this state is a **** hole. THE WHOLE STATE. The only thing worth a damn to the rest of the world is the Grand Canyon. The Phoenix area is the most faceless place with rows and rows of houses and no identifiable culture.Â
The only thing we really have going for us is size. Only 5 cities in the nation are bigger. That's not necessarily a good thing...
