Epic Drop 6/30/09: First love then obesity? Jack Bauer's worst moments, EPA inquiry, another Duke rape, Watchmen BD news

IGN has a pretty cool piece up featuring the worst hours of the life and times of Jack Bauer.  24 is one of my favorite shows on and this is a cool retrospective on some of the complete crap Jack has had to deal with over the course of the series.  Between losing his wife and dealing with torture via the Chinese he has seen almost all of it.

A recent piece over at Time Magazine online discusses getting fat after you get married.  "A few short years of getting hitched, married individuals are twice as likely to become obese as are people who are merely dating."  If you ever needed a reason to forget proposing there you go.  On top of that women are much more predisposed towards obesity then men from just living with their boyfriends.  Kick them out and keep them at a distance, wise words from researchers at UNC Chapel Hill.

Quite a few of you gave Korgath crap the other day when he posted the EPA document that brought in to question the government's current thoughts on climate change.  The good news is that Senator Inhofe ordered an investigation on this suppressed document which should hopefully shed more questions on this stupid cap-and-trade bill when it hits the Senate.  I have started reading through it and you may want to check it out as it provides some interesting points. 

The Watchmen DVD/Blu-ray business just pissed me off.  We all heard about this "ultimate edition" coming out later this year as I reported about it.  It seems the July 21st "director's cut" may be a must buy as it will be the only edition to feature all the special features and bonuses.  The ultimate edition is going to be a bare bones release spliced together with The Black Freighter.  Not very "ultimate" if it doesn't include everything now is it?  You can check out the regular directors cut here, the Best Buy exclusive with Dr. Manhattan plastic (not penis you pervs) head and the Amazon exclusive that comes with a pretty sweet Nite Owl Ship disc holder ($80, lol).  Honestly the Canadian steelbook looks the coolest, might be time to import?

Robert Gibbs at the White House gets laughed at over his own stupidity.  "I will not raise taxes on people making under $250,000".  Oh how **** changes...


Duke college has another nasty rape case on its hands this time featuring an administrator, the the associate director of Duke's Center for Health Policy in fact.  This gets bad, you have been warned.  The white male apparently is molesting his 5-year-old, African-American adopted son and offering him up for sex with others via the internet.  The "father", and use that term loosely, is also gay.  This is a massive can of FUBAR.  People like this don't deserve to live.


I am not sure who thought it was a good idea to stand in front of a bike hauling ass doing tricks and not behind the guard rail but hey, sometimes justice is a dish best served with pavement.
