Starting the day off with the new international trailer for Inglorious Basterds:
You get a bit more of the movie's tone this time around. Eat your heart out Dub, this looks great.
The economy here in the US is continuing down the ****ter, much faster than the promising projections from the White House and Congress. There are theories rumbling around that to cover our excessive spending on nonsense and to fix our deficit we may have to accept a VAT tax on goods here in the US. This of course is a absolutely horrible idea and the Heritage Foundation will tell you exactly why. It is a long read but well worth it for both Euros and US folk for comparison purposes.
Everyone one of these democratic New York congressmen should be out of a job. Especially the guy who sat back down. Not standing for the pledge of allegiance over some petty squabble with your republican opposition? Stupid...
I kind of discussed this the other day in some comments but it seems Deadspin took it a bit further. Clearly a lot of people are affected by the death of Michael Jackson, I just happen to not be one of them. Deadspin asks which athletes deaths would affect you in a similar manner? Honestly I think only Michael Jordan would really grab me that way out of their list. Though I would feel pretty bad over Steve Bartman after many my *******-cub fan brethren have treated him like crap.
Someone passed this trailer along to me for Daybreakers, a new vampire movie that isn't retarded like Twilight, featuring Ethan Hawke and Willem Dafoe. Apologies for a lack of credit but I cleaned out my inbox =/.
Today's humor is courtesy of alcohol and a highly defensive TV reporter:
Voting time. What should we do with Fox Friday? I'll bring this poll back tomorrow as well and voting will close about two days from now when Friday's Epic Drop wraps up. If you have new ideas, post them in the comments. Someone stated "Marisa Monday" yesterday and I kind of liked that idea. Upvote the ideas you like.
Options 2-5 all count towards ending Fox Friday:

I approve of Isla Fisher (regardless of that being a terrible picture of her)

Ya, I kind of prefer her hair when it is long and curly, I'll swap them

I definitely wouldn't toss her out of bed for eating crackers.

Actually, that's a good picture of her. Her face is gorgeous, better than Megan Fox in that dept.

I think all non-Fox Friday votes should be tallied together.

That sort of makes sense, but how do we justify ditching it if a sole option doesn't defeat keeping it around? Seems a bit silly to then pick the highest single one if it breaks that way when it cant trump keeping it around. If a majority doesn't win out I guess I can just pick something.

That's a silly way to think of it.
Are you racist?
A) Yes. 25%
B) No way. 15%
C) Of course not. 15%
D) Hell no. 20%
E) No comment. 20%
F) ? 5%
I conclude that the majority of people are racist.

No slap has a point. That is a ******* terrible comparison.
What option is better? Hard to say but for the sake of development I think it is time for change.

How could you conclude that when you have 50% willfully saying no? That doesnt make any sense.

"How could you conclude that when you have 50% willfully saying no? That doesnt make any sense."
Exactly. And you have >50% voting to not keep it, just like his example.

Except he concluded that a majority of people were racist, but they aren't if only 25% said yes.

Now you're catching on! It's a mistake to assume that since "Yes" has the highest percentage, that the majority of people say "Yes".
Slapnuts Jul 1, 2009 at 8:58 pm

Well that was my point. Even if a majority vote no, yet there is no consensus within the no's about what to do, then it seems odd just picking something that is not a majority. But that is seemingly the only choice if one of the "no's" doesn't completely win out.

You don't have any majorities, you have a plurality.
-----------
"Except he concluded that a majority of people were racist, but they aren't if only 25% said yes."
Um, he wasn't being serious with his conclusion (it was sarcasm on the internet). It was an example of why it would be silly to conclude that a "majority" of people support something simply because you have a plurality supporting it after making a poll with 1 supporting option and 4+ dissenting options.

Musiscian wise i'd be sad at the death of Thom Yorke and Bob Dylan most I think. I'd probably try and take a day off college for them =/. Oh Pete Docherty would get me also, but that's cause of my age I think...
Not really a sports man though... =/
And don't forget Slapnuts: It's Sophie Ellis Bextor saturday tommorow! You promised.

I did? But tomorrow isn't saturday? lol
I don't know if there are any musicians or actors that would really hit me. I think because I played baseball and basketball and those were big inspirations for me more so than music athletes would hit me harder. I was pretty bummed over the loss of Walter Payton from the Chicago Bears. Some retired Cubs players would probably hit me hard as well.
This may sound stupid, but maybe Kevin Smith? While he certainly isn't the worlds greatest actor his directing and humor in general has always been significant to me.

I thought it was friday for some reason but it's wedensday. I'm on holiday, maybe that's why.
I suppose to really care about someone you don't know you must look up to them a hell of a lot. I enjoy making music and those two would be my biggest influences so that'd probably be why I'd be really, really quite sad at their death(s). But Michael Jackson? He's too big of a weirdo to be sad over and I never was able to get into his music =/
Yeah Kevin Smith is a good autuer (spelling lol) director. I'd be more sad at the death of Tim Burton though I think, god I love Sweeney Todd.

Same here. As a matter of fact, he's the only director I'd give a flying **** about if he died. Ok maybe Mike Judge too just for Office Space and Idiocracy.

Ive read his website over the years, some of his books and comics, absolutely love the "Evenings with" and enjoy his movies. Probably one of the few Hollywood types I'd care about which makes sense as he isn't really all that Hollywood still living in Jersey and all.

Nope, I'm not. Consider Transformers made a lot of money and sucked so did Smiths terrible look into independent porno development. Movie stank, barely laughed. And I love porn ****. Kristen thought it was average as well and she's the big comedy movie fan.

I would hate it if Bruce Springsteen died. Course his newer stuff is nothing like the 72-85 era, but still.

Sorry slap that first movie has Till Schweiger in it = it's horrible, you hand out megan fox clones with every cinema ticket and it would still be horrible. The Vampire movie on the other hand looks pretty awesome.

You are on the anti-basterds bandwagon now too? Just over one actor?

Well considering all the people producing this movie are willing to work with Till Schweiger, I guess that makes me an anti-basterd! He's currently hosting a (x country) next topmodel like show but for actors here in germany and I always laugh my ass off when he tries to teach acting or even dancing to the candidates. I want to smack the living **** out of this douchebag so badly!
