Today is going to have a bunch more movie/entertainment news now that Comic-Con is a wrap including such greatness as this Clone Wars Season 2 trailer. Madalorians are coming to the Cartoon Network:
![]() We've seen the arm bra, the hand bra and now the flower bra. Thanks for the Eva Haberman recommendation. |
A whole mess of Kick-Ass movie coverage courtesy of Comic-Con. The movie doesn't have a distributor yet but if the response is any indication then Hollywood big wigs will be paying out the rear to get this one off of Matthew "Layer Cake" Vaughn's hands. Check out Hit-Girl on video along with Vaughn over at Latino Review and also check out Mr. Beaks reactions to the footage over at AICN. I am curious to see what studio takes a risk with this "hard R" flick with an 11-year old female assassin, and will they keep the title?
Texas is in the middle of a nasty drought as I mentioned in the "Win a free Nissan Altima" the other day. Things are so bad that police in San Antonio and other employees are patrolling the city fining people for illegal uses of water. If they could get all the illegals to tote in their own damn water across the border maybe things wouldn't be so bad?
Henry Gates has agreed to have a beer at the White House with Officer Crowley over the whole "racial profiling" nonsense. Crowley is in a lose/lose here imho. I imagine meeting with Crowley over this won't be all that "educating" for him and if he doesn't go he comes off as an ass. Poor guy.
Dark Horizons spent some time chatting up Jon Favreau regarding next year's Iron Man 2 which just wrapped up principal photography. Some interesting tidbits including Iron Man 3, tying in to Avengers and expectations. The reactions were pretty positive to the sequel footage and even War Machine made an appearance. Hopefully this leaks online at some point.
This is the Tron: Legacy concept footage which was shown to the studio to help give the sequel a green light. I dig it. It may not be what the final art style looks like though I suspect it will be pretty close.
Numerous folks sent this one in so thanks to all of you as I would have missed it for a few days being out of town and all. Here is the upcoming Denzel Washington post-apocalyptic flick, "The Book of Eli":

great, haha
it's almost as if she was directly addressing her internet viewers, although I'm shure that we keep our faces at least somewhat better under control than that guy

the trailer and this IMDB synopsis are about all I know. The links in my PM box were the first I'd heard of it so I haven't read up on it yet.
"A post-apocalyptic tale, in which a lone man fights his way across
America in order to protect a sacred book that holds the secrets to
saving humankind.?

I love Denzel Washington, I really do. But that movie, I am not sure. For one, I don't think I can name a post-apocalyptic movie that I actually like. The vision of the ****** up world isn't hard to create.. Resident Evil, Terminator, and I am Legend have done an excellent job creating that environment. But... I don't know.. most of them just kind of flop dead when it comes to character development and story.
Tron looks great. I don't even know the first movie. Friend told me about Tron and I googled to find the flash game of it. Total of 6 levels, the last 6th level is like retarded. Just sheer frustration against a computer, I suppose I can beat it after investing more time on it. But ****.. I'm not too obssessed. But that Tron game itself is really well designed. Simple, but fun. I'm sure you can play against others and have a lot of fun. It has strategy, map control, and finesse.. good game.
Here's something that caught my eye today. Maybe many already know? They're making Marvel comic heroes into Japaense animation (anime) style series. Can't say I am impressed as I love the unique style of American animation (I love the guy who made Samurai Jack. I also believe he made Clone Wars? Fantastic stuff). I think lot of Japanese animation look very generic and tasteless.
Here's one for Wolverine.. which I think is really bad.
There's another one for Iron Man, which seems little better.

Those really aren't the good examples of a ****** up world. Ever read 1984? Or watch the movie?

Don't forget Children of Men too, if we're talking recent. And the movie of The Road will be out soonish I believe, that's looking fantastic.

There isn't a post apocalyptic movie I dislike. My favs are the oldies, A Boy and his Dog, Omega Man and Planet of the Apes.

It's just, I can name very little films that uses the theme of post-apocalyptic world and it's good. In fact.. I don't think there are any.. maybe aside from Bladerunners and Matrix. Oh gawd.. you know what was really bad.. ******* tank girl.

I agree. I just find something like 1984 more scary because it's fairly realistic. The original Matrix was cool on the 'freaky' level, and bladerunner was pretty awesome. I haven't seen tank girl. In fact, I've missed a few popular post-apocalypse movies that I should have seen, like mad max.

1984 wouldn't translate well to movie, it's one of those books that are perfect as a book.
I think the best post-apocolyptic movie I've seen (other than the Matrix which wasn't really about life outside the matrix) was 28 Days Later.

vision of a ****** up world? apocalypse now portrays a pretty ****** up world and it's genre didn't even have to be post apocalyptic.
i am legend, resident evil(film) are really bad.
the new tron film looks pretty terrible(im not impressed by some special effects followed by a cliche), iron man 2 will be good hopefully

Hrm, that anime doesn't really interest me. It just isn't grabbing me as a must watch. I prefer more faith adaptions when it comes such things. One of the reasons I never got in to say "Xmen Evolutions" or "Batman Beyond" (though I did watch a bit of this at was more a future storyline)

fallout 3 the movie? lol the first thing that comes to mind is a movie that's 200 hours long with someone going round with a huge armament of guns and bottlecaps killing monsters, but eventually dieing of radiation at the end.

Ugh idiot 4chan users. ATT shut down pipes to /b/ to stop a massive DDOS attack routed through their servers for the last 2 weeks.
ATT is helping you, 4chan.

I thought about that while watching. Fallout would be a ******* sweet movie but that isn't anywhere near.
Seriously, enclave / super mutants / ghouls / raiders / ****** up mutated wild life. You'd only have to have a vaguely interesting story to have a ******* good movie.
