Zune HD day is here for those of you ready for a 16GB or 32GB model. Yes it looks awesome and yes I will have one here in a couple of days but it won't be mine. Ordered one for a friend in the land of the mounties but I can dick around with it for a few days before I send it up to him. Still waiting on a 64GB version for myself. Check out some of the latest news via Engadget including news on the Nvidia Tegra chip and awesome gaming like Audiosurf Tilt!
A new trailer for the HBO miniseries The Pacific was released today and unfortunately it is super small. If someone wants to link a bigger version, feel free. This is a day-1 watch for me, can't wait for this to come out.

Harrison Ford says Indy 5 is about ready to roll as Lucas is writing a script. If everyone likes it Ford is ready to don the hat once again. I have mixed emotions about this. I love the series but a few things about 4 bothered me. Lucas can write good scripts, there is evidence of that, usually his directing is where things suffer.
In more super-sequel news, Spider-man 4 starts shooting in January. Rumors of Bruce Campbell as Mysterio persist though I would much rather have Kraven or Lizard. Honestly I wish Venom would have been done right in the third film and maybe we could have Carnage and Vemon this time around but that was totally botched thanks to the plot of the last one.
This 107-year-old Malaysian woman is seeking her 23rd husband. Those of you prowling Craigslist for some nasty tail may want to hit this lady up instead. You know what they say about those older girls, they die off faster and leave you their money!
And will someone please open a bar like this around here? This is just one more temptation towards the portable breathalyzer that will surely get me thrown in jail some night...
You probably saw this one already, but being Star Wars it is mandatory that I post it:
And if that didn't catch your fancy, shirtless retards fighting just might. Maybe if he would have pulled his pants up things would have gone better?

No comment on NFS: Shift? Seeing how this is the first NFS in years that seems to be actually worth something.

Jaworski: What would you do coach? I've been waiting all summer to ask you a question in a situation like this!
Gruden: Well, I'd kick the onside kick here, so you get two chances to get the ball back. One on the kick, and one if your defense stops them.
Jaworski: Well, I'm going to disagree with you Mr. Superbowl Champ Coach, I'd kick it deep here, pin them back, and hey who knows what can happen!
Gruden: ... (you could almost hear his exasperation.)
So, I'm sitting here listening to this exchange cracking up, because I'm sure Gruden is fuming. The pats kick the ball deep, and I figure Buffalo will get a few first downs, the game will end, and Gruden will be vindicated.
Of course, the idiot returner takes the ball out, gets popped and fumbles. Jaws obnoxiously tells Gruden "AND THATS WHY THEY KICKED IT OFF!".
I'm positive that Gruden went home last night, polished up his coaching resume and sent it to every team that is 0-1.

He took the ball out of the end zone because the clock was at 2:06 for the kick, and if he'd kneeled the Pats may have had one more play before the warning. Taking it out was a good decision, but deciding to try to stand up against three tacklers was very stupid. He should've slid at around the 15.
Concerning the blog, Jay Leno is horrible and his bits are awful. I hope he dies soon. And I've never heard or remember a network playing the same show at 10pm every night of the week, NBC is basically admitting they have no desire to create quality TV. **** Leno.

IMO it's the same thing as the reality shows. It's cheaper to do than a regular sitcom other than paying Leno.

Yeah there were tons of bad calls yesterday in both games. What was ridiculous to me were some of the calls supposedly to protect the QB. I mean the sack by Adelius supposedly throwing him was absolutely ridiculous along with the sack on Jamarcus's legs where they pretended like he went so low. I thought the ref'ing in both games was horrible. And these rule changes to protect QB's has gone way overboard.

In industry terms a story credit is FAR from a screenplay credit. The movies I can think of that he actually wrote are the first star wars, American Graffiti, and THX.
Arguably his best stories, Raiders and Empire strikes back were written by Kasdan, with what's her name, Leigh Beckett or something on Empire, and Speilberg contributing a ton to the story of Raiders.
Even the prequels which he has a screenplay credit for he had other people do polish passes on them.
My point is simply that Lucas is a decent idea man, but he works best sitting down with a real writer to provide structure and make sense of what he's trying to do. If he's actually writing the script for 5 I'd be ******* terrofied of what it'd turn into.

The Epic Drop is and light on the politics tonight. Well, minus Obama calling Kanye a "jackass" and then taking it back. A move to seem edgy or just a slip of the tongue
BTW- I'm pretty sure this was a "controlled leak" to up Obama in the polls among white people where he's been slipping badly.

Of course, the majority of people agree with him. The fact that he said it so strongly and didn't take sides that people would perceive that were based on race (like the earlier incedent with the cops) makes him look more even handed. Pretty brilliant, but also transparent if you really think about it.

Let it be known that I wasn't calling for that. I did mention it, but it was Peter King from S.I. who called them vs. the Patsies.
Before the season I was pretty sure we could win the division or win the wild card. Now, seeing both the vikes and bears opening games and the Urlacher injury, I suspect they have their work cut out for them.
