Epic Drop 9/29/09: Poll time! Teen beaten to death, Palin's 'Going Rogue', Zombieland, Blood drink, Optimized laptops?

Starting the night off with this saddening video out of the Chicago area.  A massive gang-related brawl took place a few blocks from a school and one kid was beaten to death in front of stunned and gawking onlookers.  Video is slightly graphic and definitely appalling.  Derrion Albert was apparently trying to help calm the situation when he found himself getting smacked in the head with a large board and the kicked and stomped on after the fact.

I know all of you out there can't wait to get your mitts on this one.  Sarah Palin's "Going Rogue" will be out November 17th for some quality toilet reading.  Honestly, while I may not be the biggest fan of hers, I almost want to read it out of curiosity sake.  I'll probably wait for the paperback though. 

Quint has seen Zombieland twice and he loves it.  I think I will have to drag friends to this one as my girlfriend is not a fan of zombies, creatures and all that jazz.  Still impressed that she dealt with District 9.  I will definitely find a way to see this over the weekend.  I realize it is only 8 reviews so far but it is at 100% on the tomato meter and that is a promising start.  (better than the bomb that was Tucker Max's "I Hope They Serve Beer in Hell")

The great folks at Latino Review have an exclusive look at the script for the Robert Rodriguez reboot of Predators.  Not sure what to think of this quite yet.  The good thing is Rodriguez is writing it and producing but I almost wouldn't mind him behind the camera.  I do dig the concept of the film though, an interesting spin off of the original.

Best Buy has a new bonus for prospective laptop buyers.  You can now buy laptops "optimized".  AKA "the box is open but we did some **** to it to justify selling it to you at premium".  Leave your returned goods to some other poor schmuck, I'll pass.  They create the recovery disks for you, ya, way to go out of your way Best Buy...

True Blood come to life?  Some idiots thought it would be a wise idea to sell "Blood Energy Potion", a $6 energy drink that tastes just like blood.  This is just awesome, what is next, Anna Paquin getting naked every week?  Maybe this isn't a bad idea...
