The first internet addiction center in the nation has opened up near Seattle, Washington. $14,000 and a 45-day program at ReSTART will supposedly cure you of your addiction and help you be a more well-rounded individual. If Serennia asks for a bus ticket to Washington for five Hershey bars will someone help him out? I think the closest I ever came to such an addiction was after a nasty a breakout with an ex-fiance and Counter-Strike was my escape and I was playing upwards of 8 hours a day. Thankfully I just got tired of it, got back in to the dating scene and moved on.
Steven Crowder brings up some interesting points in the whole gay marriage debate. Interestingly his points fit in line with some of my comments yesterday noting that the government should only authorize civil unions and leave marriage to the church. We can't have marriages being accused of denying civil rights:
I see this NCAA Football handshake business is going a long way to promote civility and sportsmanship. In the first televised appearance of the NCAA-encouraged handshake went fairly well, if you ignore the post-game sucker punch (see video) after Oregon was spanked by Boise St. Classy move, I hope this guy doesn't touch the field the rest of the year.
Anyone going to see Extract this weekend? I am a big fan of Mike Judge's work (Office Space, King of the Hill) but this one seems to be getting mixed reviews so far. The Tomato Meter is only at 56% though here is a pretty positive review from Capone at AICN.
A new study shows that men become retards after talking to pretty women, women of course weren't affected in the same manner with hot guys. So this is why those of you buy them drinks? To dumb them up too? ;]
The health-care business is pretty crazy out there. Yesterday a protester had his finger bitten off by a pro-Obamacare supporter. I am all for expressing your opinion but biting someone's finger off so they may reconsider their need for nationalized health-care may be a bit excessive.
Disney is going to release Tron Legacy the same weekend as Seth Rogan's Green Hornet in December of next year. I was hoping Tron wasn't that far off but hopefully it will be worth the wait. I would almost bet that Hornet moves to a third date after already having moved once.
There are "horse people" and then there is guy who seems to be a bit clueless. Dude, you forgot your hat?
I forgot to post this one earlier in the week so here it is now. Some of the worst acting since Megan Fox in Transformers 2!

Marriage should never have been a legal document to begin with. Videos like that aren't helping though. All that video is going to do is piss some people off and regurgitate what reasonable people already know. People should be pushing for that middle ground and not be attacking others' points of view (even if they are right).
edit: Oh, ****. Second and wasn't gunning for it. It's 4:20 AM in Alaska atm and a bear was eating my trash and keeping me up all night. ****.

Honestly I dont see why people are making such a big hoopla over Obama speaking to the American youth. When Reagan and the first Bush did it, nobody made a peep. It's the RNC hype machine people. Don't be so alarmist.
I just saw that youtube video. If anyone has anything negative to say about the message relayed in that video, you are not from this world

okay you found one democratic voice from almost 20 years ago. Now when i say "not made a peep" i was exaggerating of course. What i meant was that compare how people responded to what Bush did to how people are responding to Obama today.
Blogs everywhere, parents protesting to not send their kids to school, opinion polls on facebook, mass media coverage on the issue. It's outright disgusting in my opinion

One democratic voice? Did you even read the article, come on.
That was 18 fricking years ago, the media is a whole different monster between then and now. A considering his son didn't make a similar speech there really is no other basis for comparison that is more current.
Personally I didn't bring it up as I don't see it a huge deal, hence why didn't blog about it. Just don't bring up stupid counter arguments when the facts are out there and others that have done this haven't been warmly received either.

Ok granted things are alot different today than they were in 1991. But you are not gettin my point. The amount of baseless dissent is outrageous.
When bush did his speech a few politicians spoke out. What do you expect, that's the dance Democrats and Republicans do.
Now in 1991, i was like 6, so i dont have any memory of what the actual temperature of America was when Bush gave his speech. Do you really think states like Colorado refused to air the speech? Or do you think parents held their kids out of school for the day?
Now you can take what Im saying and nitpick it to death. While you're doing that, you're missing my point. So i'll put it bluntly, get off Obama's back when it's not warranted.
P.S. I am not a huge Obama fan atm. So plz lay off the "OMG YOUR A FANBOI!?!?! TEEHHEE"

You brought up this whole topic of the speech, not I, not anywhere. There wasn't any anti-Obama sentiment even today minus me feeling the celebs are stupid with their dumb ass commercial.
So who is feeling defensive today?

Hey retard, try reading comprehension some time.
"by a pro-Obamacare supporter."
That is "a supporter of Obama's idea of a nationalized health care plan" not "bitten by an Obama supporter"

For me, I think Gay's should have the right to get married. Marriage isn't as sacred as conservatives and Christians like to think it is. The divorce rate in this country is over 50%. I read something the other day that said "It's too late for Gay's to destroy marriage. The straight people already did it."
I could also give a **** if the church ceased to exist. Throw that **** off a cliff imo.

The divorce rate shot up when this country lost it's religion and embraced idiotic ideas from our domestic socialists, aka democrats.

I think same-sex civil unions should be allowed aka you get married by a judge. The people who oppose this IMO are (as the video put it), homophobic hate mongerers.. blablah. It doesn't affect you at all, so why opposite it?
Same-sex marriages on the other hand is a bit tricky, because as far as I know there are religions that oppose it, and some religions that support it. Allowing same-sex marriages within the religions that allow it should also be allowed imo, but unlike what he said, churches that have always opposed it should not be forced to go against their religion and start performing same-sex marriages. I honestly don't see what the problem is with this either... the religions that allow it obviously support it, or they wouldn't have even though of making that point clear or not in the first place, so they get what they want. All the catholic people get what they want because it would be impossible to have a catholic/christian/whatever same-sex marriage.
The one thing I do agree with the guy in the video though, are those damn parades. Yes you are gay, and yes you can be proud about it, but you don't need to flaunt it by running down the street half naked. IMO that actually enforces a negative stereotype about gay people which I think causes a lot of people to think all gays are like that. Apparently they don't see that though.
And to sum it up... can someone please tell me how allowing same-sex civil unions or same-sex marriages within the religions that allow it... affects you negatively in any way whatsoever? I have yet to see a response about opposing same-sex marriage that didn't revolve around suggesting that every single person in the country should follow the teachings/rules of just a single religion. So please, enlighten me.

I'm not a violent person. However, for some people, I think violence is the only language they learn from. Getting a stern talking to from your coach, maybe benched a game, I don't believe that kid would learn anything. Getting punched in the face for being a douche, that's a consequence someone remembers and thinks about before being a douche again. I'm pretty sure everyone could use a punch-in-the-face reminder here and there to think before they act. I'm glad someone is taking time out of their day to dispense these helpful reminders.

My advice to the gay community is to take a long look at the legal contract that is marriage and decide if you really want it. Monogamy till death and split all your assets with a monthly stipend to the poorer spouse if it doesn't work. Sounds like a contract worth spending a lot of effort to be part of!
How about something like a 5 year renewable contract. Be creative. You can even throw parties at the renewal. Come join Bob and Ted as they renew their union!! The word "married" is not that big of a deal.
