Yea, but the troll blogs main strength is in comments, not views. So just stirring up **** isn't going to necessarily cut it.

 

Really? You can see stats and such, so I'll take your word for it. I would have thought the exra time spent on the feed from comments would have made for a lot of views.

 

Unique views/visits are more important than repeated comments/views from the same person.

You said that World of Ming and Gameriot: The Blog are excluded, and that comments and trafficked entries don't count. But for Ming to generate so many comments, he must be popular, and that in turn gets him a truckload of blog visits, so does it really differ?
I'm thinking people will stir up troll blogs for drama and hyperlink to the blog from various places. :P

 

Linking in from various places is a valid tactic. Thatz how ze internet verks.

 

those blogs are excluded because we already kinda pay for them to exist, ya know? If Jasi wants to start his own side-blog or Kyle does and they can create more traffic than any of you kids, more power to them!

IMO Gameriot Staff should decide...

too much BS involved w/ visits in terms of friends, friends of friends, and it being a emo popularity contest.  I mean i see some retarded really bad blogs here that make no sense, and they get replies from retards saying how great it was...but you know they are just their arena butt buddies, or arena nerds that idolize WoW name value players, etc.... lots of vent full of friends based Gameriot blog praising/defending/etc/etc, and its pretty obvious in some cases.

anyways, great idea....just bad basis of judging good blogs.  You guys should anon vote in a hat or some crap at the end of the month, pretty sure most of you read everything posted.  And dont worry, this has nothing to do with me, i'd donate the money to charity or Godsmak's penis implant God knows hes suffered enough w/ that loose ****** and always having to deush....not to mention it'd be a goddamn shame to see some Arena player exploit the contest w/ promised nude pics because you know thats how they do ;p

 

There probably is already going to be an issue of 'bias' with what I feature on the top of the page. And even though I really don't have any favorites I am subject to the same objectivity that everyone else is, which means I'll like/feature some things that some people may not appreciate as much.

Either way, I'm just going to continue promoting the best stuff the same way I always have. It probably will have an effect (featured blogs have a higher view rate) but thats unavoidable unless I only feature blogs from Slapnuts, Ming, Jasi, and myself.
