Considering the trash that I would inevitably produce should I make an attempt at blogging, how about a little sum to keep quiet?

So are you just adding all of the likes for entries posted in December, or is there some sort of counter that increments with any like given to the author? Would I be credited with a like for an entry that was posted last month?

Is there a "prize" for most +1 Likes to blogs this month?
This month's "prizes" also kind of kills any momentum GR had during the past two months to spur more quality bloggers. The incentive to blog kind of got butchered. =/

No
The last two months were also sponsored and probably the reason for higher prizes. Can't always give amazing "prizes" away or then they wouldnt be amazing anymore now would they?Â
Just my thoughts, even I don't control how this process works out.

You should try blogspot, I think they've got good incentives this month...
Oh wait, no they don't.
Try the WoW forums, I hear the good posters over there actually get paid directly by Blizzard...
Hmm, maybe not.
I could go on. The biggest incentive should always be that you enjoy the act of blogging and the responses it brings. Everything else is just icing.

Despite your unnecessary sarcastic response, my opinion that a +1 Like to blogs being a good idea still stands.
Whether you like it or not, I guess it's not up to me--but being an ass toward someone giving a legitimate opinion is definitely called for amirite?

Its silly to expect large incentives to blog. The vast majority of people blogging on the internet don't make any money to speak of. The fact that we have a monthly cash prize contest is fairly unique and I just thought it was more than a little ridiculous to say:
This month's "prizes" also kind of kills any momentum GR had during the past two months to spur more quality bloggers. The incentive to blog kind of got butchered.
Because using quotation marks to imply that the regular contest isn't worthy of note is a totally benign opinion and not inflammatory at all, amirite?
