I have never liked Courtney Love, I feel she is a no-talent hack who's only decent album came off the work and music left behind from Kurt Cobain. I won't even get in to the whole "was it really suicide" issue because that just gets me really fired up. I am not the world's biggest Nirvana fan or anything though them and Pearl Jam are probably my favorite bands from the whole grunge era and I would have loved the chance to see them play live.
The latest news is disgusting in its own right. First up we need to slide back a couple of years to statement Courtney made in 2007 regarding Kurt showing up a Dr. Martens shoe ad:
Love was reportedly "outraged" when she found out about the ad and called it "despicable." She also said that Cobain never would’ve agreed to it. She released a statement through her publicist that said, "Courtney had no idea this was taking place and would never have approved such a use. She thinks it’s outrageous that a company is allowed to commercially gain from such a despicable use of her husband’s picture. (Emphasis mine)
My latest disgruntlement involves Courtney selling out his likeness to Activision for the Guitar Hero series. Kurt will show up as an in-game character, possibly a boss, in Guitar Hero 5 according to IGN:
For a woman so insistent on keeping the memory of her husband intact she is doing a great job at ****ting all over it. For those that remember, Kurt would probably roll over in his grave seeing all this bull**** as he was completely against the whole aspect of commercialization. He often had issues dealing with the bands success coming from their underground roots and he never (that I know of) let their music or visage be licensed for commercial purposes.
I won't lie, I dig their music in these rock games but to me this is crossing the line. It would be one thing if Kurt were alive to embrace this music genre himself and make this call but the guy is now dead and this stinks of her cashing in on his likeness. I suspect she would be a complete nobody were it not for leeching off his fame and talent.
And I certainly can't complain about Activision, they would probably sell their corporate soul to Yoko Ono if it would move a few more music-based games off of store shelves.

Courtney love is just a dumb *****.
If you've seen her at the Pamela roast she's pretty much ****** up hardcore, if she died one of these days I certainly wouldn't be surprised.

i'm not sure whether you're pissed at courtney or activision but i don't think either is in the wrong.
if activision wants to put someone in their game, they should be able to, and if there is a consent issue at any level it shouldn't be with anyone other than said individual, definitely not a previous spouse. i don't blame activision for putting kurt cobain in a video game and i don't blame courtney for giving the go-ahead if that was the case, even if it is silly that she should earn a dime off of "allowing" someone to portray him in a video game.

Kurt needs a game to be known as a "legend of rock" like Michael Jordan needs a game/movie/documentary to do the same thing...
And this is far from a "Legends of Rock" game. It is just another run of the mill guitar game. It isn't like this Rock Band Beatles. ******* Spacehog, Bush, The Gorillaz and Jimmy Eat World, those are really "legends".

From my knowledge the only playable characters happen to be legends. You can't play as Jimmy Eat World or the Gorillaz.

No you are pretty much completely wrong. Its clear you know jack **** about the games so you could at least look it up before sounding like a complete ******* idiot.
They are all playable characters, licensed within GWHT and GH5.

Oh no, a dead guy in a video game. I was sad when he died also, they made some great songs. But he's not like a hero or anything. Killing oneself is pretty much something people shouldn't look up to. Anwyays, that doesn't matter. WHAT MATTERS IS.

They need to redo his image on that clip. Kurt's eyes should look way creepier and his mouth shouldn't look like that at all. His hair could also do some reworking. They really half-assed that ****.
