This is definitely worst than Titanic being the highest grossing film of all time. At least the Leo/Rose love fest had some redeeming film merits. I can't say that much about Wii Sports...The official news came from VG Chartz recently that the Wii-bundled Wii Sports has officially sold more copies than Super Mario Brothers for the Nintendo Entertainment System.Â
40.24 million units to be exact with sales of the Wii still moving at record setting pace. In November the damn thing sold over 2 million units alone; a record for a single month's console sales. Wouldn't surprise me if come the next couple of weeks when the NPD numbers hit that may have topped that in December.Â
My buddy Wadsworth1 was just raving about the game earlier today. Personally it feels like a one trick pony to me. It is alright for gatherings and people who haven't played it to death. Once the "originality" of motion control wears thin the game's monotony, bland art and lack of depth comes to the forefront.Â
I only bash on the Wii at times, mainly some of the **** games, because I want it to be better. I love Twilight Princes and Mario Galaxy, RE4 was great as well. But there is so much shovelware that comes out that looks like crap, plays like crap and is marketed to the lowest common denominator.Â
Wii Sports may hold the sales crown but I doubt anyone with a real sense of gaming value would ever qualify if it as a better game than Super Mario Brothers. Until someone beats "-1", Mario will take the cake vs. Wii Sports in this gamers mind.Â

Wii Sports is awful. Playing tennis hurt my arms and shoulder, and every other game was ****.

It isn't a bad movie from a cinema stand point even if I am not a big fan of the whole love story. But I certainly dont see it deserving as the "#1 all time highest grossing flick" either.

Well, I'm a person that enjoys romance/drama, and while I do appreciate it for that, I dunno if it's the best that's ever been in terms of a romance story.
I think it's the highest grossing film because females exist.

I dont mind a decent love story, it wasn't so much that fact. But it was that plotline that drove rabid droves of girls to the theater to see the damn thing over and over.

As much as I like it, the romance and romantic comedy genres really attract a lot of girls and screw up their perception of how to handle relationships. It's seriously f'ing lame, I've seen girls mimic so much **** they see in a movie with their own relationships, unaware of the fact that it's illogical
1) because it's a fictional movie made to be exceptionally dramatic, and
2) because the situation in the movie doesn't perfectly mimic their own situation in context, and shouldn't be attempted because everything is relative.

Slap, I promise you now and forever, if I ever watch the entire flick on a new years eve, no matter in which condition, (ie: lying in a cell prepared by jicksaw) I'll kill myself right after.

Here we go again. Have to defend myself. Not raving about Wii Sports. I do think it is a fun game to play with more than 1 person, especially bowling. Its a game all ages can play. Can your parents play Halo 3 or COD4 with you?- I doubt it- controls are too advanced for them. When I visited the inlaws for Christ-mas we would have leagues setup for bowling and add in mass amounts of beer we all had a great time. Â

I can have just as great a time with Guitar Hero and the family, and actually get a quality game out of it is as well.

Guitar Hero is a little more pricier. Is it easy to pickup/learn? Wii bowling takes about 5 minutes to learn, makes a difference. Not saying Wii sports is better, but I don't want to spend my time explaining the workings of Guitar Hero to everyone.

anytime I have seen it at gatherings everyone gets it pretty quickly. Sure some advanced things like hammer on's and star power are a bit more complex, but not necessary to know to play the game.

That is one of those games you definitely dont play better when drinking, **** gets hard. I like a little buzz at times for FPS games, but not for GH.

Wii golf is fine, the others are bad.

the advanced controller addon should have been there from the get go imho, the controls are a lot better with that giving real time depth. etc/

 I hope 2009 will be more promising for the wii. havent really looked around much for upcoming titles but the new zelda will be a must have for me, and recently saw the trailer for mad world. Plus there is no confirmation of a new zelda this year. They are working on it, that is all we know. I would hope, after the ****storm of '08 and the lack of "hardcore gamer" titles on the Wii they would do their damnedest to get it out by this coming Christmas.

ahh i vaguely remember you commenting that a new zelda was on its way so assumed somehow it was being released in 09, that sucks.
anyway i can still look forward to wii resort with that new advanced controller. especially that mini frisbee game where your dog has to catch it got me all riled up. i just hope they put some work in it, like changing the color of my frisbee and choosing between different types of dogs, would make it alot more personal. Wii's future is still looking bright man
