Just some random stuff I have come across today that I figure some of you may be interested in on the gaming front that I don't want to put in solo blogs.
Uncharted 2 shown above looks absolutely amazing. Probably the next big thing on the graphics front after Killzone 2 and since the first game played extremely well hopefully we get more of the same this time around. Check out a recent preview and some more images of the upcoming 3rd person title here.
Mass Effect 2 has been confirmed for a 2010 release by EA. In a conference call today MTV verified that the game will show up between Jan. and March of next year as EA wraps up its fiscal year. The game is expected to be multiplatform this time around as well. No word if that means the PS3 as well or just the 360 and PC.
So you think you are good at fighting games? Pretty damn solid at Street Fighter? I'd almost bet that no one that reads this will be as Seth Killian =p
Even though he lost that can easily be called a moral victory.
Microsoft calls Halo its Star Wars. My favorite part of this interview, "Asked if he believes the Halo franchise can ever be as popular as Star Wars, Pace noted: 'Depending on how you measure it we have a very good shot'". Sorry but Halo will never be in the same league as Star Wars.
Are we returning to the era of sub $60 games? That would probably make Wadsworth1 happy, damn gaming tightwad. According to Joystiq a gaming analyst feels 2009 may bring cheaper prices for games thanks in part to the recession and the overall woes that have hit the industry.Â

Same here sir. I am pumped. Capcom is getting rich off my purchases this month between the CE and the Tournament Edition stick.

I hope those sticks/pads are good, maybe I can complete my remaining MK vs. DCU combo challenges with them also

Mass Effect 2! Sadly I think it could only disappoint, its kinda like the matrix, you know the story pretty much has to go downhill.

I hope ME2 goes to PC same time as consoles instead of like a year later. I guess i should hope they go PC at all. Scares me since GoW2 didn't go PC due to all of the piracy, and i hate playing shooters on my console so they lost my sale ;p Hope ME2 doesn't lose it also.

EA just announced losing a **** load of money last year as far as projections and is laying off a bunch of folks. You can almost guarantee that most of their stuff will be cross platform now. I would almost go out on a limb and promise ME2 will be on the big three, minus the Wii.

That is because most of us that were playing back when Seth started stopped playing "full time" 10-15 years ago when we had to get 'real' jobs, instead of working at capcom. lol

There is actually a guy I used to play against once in awhile who's a pro DOA player now. Â He talks **** about how he 'dominated tournaments' back in the day, when he never could even win one of our weekly SF or MK tournaments. Â It's kinda funny. Â I thought about making a rage post about it, but his profile is gone from his team, and the google cache is gone.

Not being massively deep into the fighter world, why do some people play cross handed? What benefit is there to that? I believe Seth does normally doesn't he? Or maybe it was Markman at SRK I saw doing that.

You're right, Halo will never be in the same league as Star Wars. It's surpassed it, at least in my eyes.

Star Wars has never really been "my thing". It just didn't seem interesting at all to me. Halo on the other hand, engrossed me. I find the Halo story incredibly interesting and intriguing. Obviously it's just my opinion, and many will disagree with me, but the Halo story (have to have read the books because the games just don't do it justice) is superior in my eyes.
