The game is two weeks away but it is already climbing the Gamerankings/Metacritic charts.  The reviews have been coming in this week and the game is looking like a major hit on the critic's front.  Drake not only gets all the ladies but apparently he can charm the reviewers as well.  I will won't have this for another two weeks but I'll be sure to write about it when I get a chance.

I listed some magazine reviews a while back but these are some of the first online reviews I have had a chance to check out.

The notoriously tough Eurogamer gave it a 10 out of 10 stating:

"Whether or not the multiplayer sticks, however, is arguably a footnote, because at the core of Uncharted 2 is an action-adventure masterpiece whose minor flaws are washed away on a tide of rhythm and spectacle."

IGN handed out a 9.5 which was solid praise noting:

"Really, you just wanted to know how good it is, and fortunately I can say that it's very, very good. It's easily one of the best games on the system, blending fantastic presentation and visuals with gameplay that is practically second to none"

1UP handed out one of the first A+'s I have ever in quite some time:

"What Uncharted 2 proves is that games are, at the very least, craft. Just as Raiders is Spielberg at the top of his game, Uncharted 2 is Naughty Dog at the top of theirs, and further proof that they are masters of their craft.

The Gamerankings score is at a 96.43% right now which would rank it as the highest rated game of the year so far if the scores keep this pace.

I am sure I'll play around a bit with multiplayer but the real appeal for this game is the fantastic single-player mode.  The first game was an engrossing joyride and if the second can bring more of that to the table I see other games having a hard time pulling me away.  The cover system worked pretty well though things at times did get a touch redundant.  Hopefully with the elevated levels and scenarios, new tactics and weapons we get a bit more diversity this time around.

Two weeks, just two more weeks...

Btw, the free for all, open multiplayer beta is now available on PSN for any and all PS3 owners.

Good read. I've got a question. I'm from the EU but ordered my ps3 from the US when it came out because I knew the EU store would be **** compared to the US store (boy was I right). If I want to play any expansion (expansion will then be DL from the US PSN obviously) that may/will come out later for Uncharted 2 (or any other game) do I then need a CAN/US version of Uncharted 2 or can I buy the EU version from my local store and download the US expansion? I have a strong feeling they won't work together.

Can anyone answer me this?

Maybe a little off topic, but what has the origin of your console to do with which store you access? I have a European PS3 and I can access the European, US and Japanese stores. It all comes down to your credit card. If you were to buy UC2 and DLC would come out, you could just make a European PSN Store account and buy the European DLC just to be sure?

I am guessing that Lesane is right, I wouldn't recommend cross buying versions though between disc and DLC.  You probably want to create a US account and try to buy from thereo

Yea, already got the US account. I'll just keep ordering my games from Canada, cheaper anyway.

Think I can make an EU account (if I bought a EU game) and DL the EU expansion and then switch over to my US account (where all my trophies are, reckon they are stored on the account anyway) and play from the EU game with the downloaded EU expansion there (god-aweful formulated, but I hope you understand=p)?
