First off you should start your download of this file; especially if you are a Street Fighter fan.
For those of you living under a rock, Street Fighter 4 is in development and is the first fully new Street Fighter title in almost 10 years storyline wise. It is expected to be on most or all of the current consoles and is rumored to be out this or the following year. The above link is the first glimpse we have actual in game footage after a teaser trailer in the fall.&n… More
Video games are a funny thing. If I were to ask the average young gamer if gaming was an accessible hobby they would probably say 'definitely' or 'what does accessible mean?'. And I'm not talking about cost, I'm talking about the simple matter of 'can anyone play video games?'. Sadly, the answer is not the simple 'yes' I'd like it to be. The fact is that anyone who is deaf, color blind, or has some limitation to their motor skills is going to have a very hard time picking up most video games.
While I mourn the destruction my second mic, Rock Band players everywhere are rocking out as we head into the new year. I'm on the 'Nightmare' songs on hard difficulty and until my new mics get in I don't see that changing. However, after watching a certain drumming video I am thinking that maybe I should try my hand at drums until the mics get here. The video?
This is the second drumming video I've posted. I guess after seeing Kov, Freddy, and the crew rock … More
Back in '02 a hardware developer had a dream. The dream was 'The Phantom Gaming Console' and the developer was Infinium Labs. The console was going to allow players to download games directly from the internet, thus removing the need for cartridges or CDs. It was hard to take them seriously and practically no one did.
Years later the Phantom is nothing more than a ghost of the past, but the company that intended to build it remains... on life support. Now they intend to revolutionize gami… More
Check out what Mr. Lee has managed to do with a simple Wiimote and some infrared pens. He even goes on to describe how to make your own infrared pens using a Bic pen shell and a little ingenuity. At first, I was wondering how a simple everyday guy was able to figure this out and be so awesome. Then I found out that Johnny Chung Lee is Ph.D. Grad Student at Carnegie Mellon University. The video below depicts the project I spoke of before. However, a quick visit to http://www.johnnylee.net will show you not only how to set this project up, but other projects he has. You can download the software for this project and maybe try out some more.… More
Famed Hollywood producer Jerry Bruckheimer (Pirates of the Carribean, CSI) has signed on with MTV to produce what one can only imagine to be big budget catastrophes that are all bark and no bite. Nothing against Mr. Bruckheimer but I hardly think a keen sense on how to pour millions of dollars into spectacular visuals is going to make a good game.
The move is all part of MTV's new campaign to stay 'hip' by getting into the cutting edge video game industry. Their first major title, Rock Band,… More
Step aside Dance Dance Revolution, move over Guitar Hero, sit down Rock Band. There's a new sheriff in town; and it's name is... Ok, well I don't actually know what it's called, but it looks something like this:
A lot of guys have a hard time getting their girls to play video games. Now game time is for the girl to get the guys hard. Oh yea. I went there. More
Well, this may be old news, but I am going to share it anyway due to the fact that I am fat and... fat kids love cake. There was a gentleman who found an Easter Egg in Portal. While walking through the offices he saw a screen filled with what looked like garbled text. Mixed among the text was actually a recipe for... you guessed it... CAKE! Screen shot to the right of the recipe.

The inventors of the portal gun, Aperture Science, would like to wish you a very happy holidays. Complete with cake, everybody's favorite companion cube, and hidden danger! Check out the video here: http://www.aperturescience.com/
The sad thing is that I have already figured out how to get the cake and where to put the companion cube. When the game first came out, I played it so much that I would find myself considering portals in the real world. Like in th… More
Might & Magic Dark Messiah was one of my favorite PC titles when it came out in '06. While it wasn't extremely inventive, I found it to be a fun singleplayer break from bullets and nades.
The Source engine powered Action RPG has been redone for Xbox 360 and a demo is now available on the Marketplace. Dark Messiah of Migh and Magic: Elements is the title and you can expect a fair sampling of both the single and multiplayer campaigns. The final release date is scheduled for Febru… More
