After being outdone by Rock Band in the whole music play along game front it seems Activision may not be sitting on their hands with their next version of Guitar Hero.

Talking to Conde Nast Portfolio magazine via IGN, Activision's CEO mentioned they will be including other instruments and vocals as well.  Sounds a lot like Rock Band eh?  They are also planning on letting gamers play along with local bands and local content.

I am not quite sure how this whole "local" thing is going…  More

Welcome to the morning news.  Any of you have any interesting GTA4 launch stories today?  Yes the game was available for sale at midnight in many places last night.  Who has picked it up?

EA trying to make up for all the negative Battlefield: Bad Company press?  Apparently they have a downloadable content pack shortly after the game drops this summer and it will be free.

Aerosmith's songs won't be making a trip to Rock Band.  Apparently their whole music catalog is exclusi…  More

No complaining about quality.  This is the cost of seeing it 4 days early.  Per usual these bootleg youtube links don't last long.  So being the smart guy I am have a back up source just in case:

Thanks to Harry over at Aintitcoolnews.

So you think you have a pretty cool mario kart/wii setup at home eh?  I think these guys have you beat.  That setup puts most Gran Turismo rigs I have …  More

The GTA Retrospective
GTAGTA IIGTA IIIGTA VCGTA SAGTA IV

Tuesday.  April 29th.  D-Day for the gaming industry and all of Rockstar's competitors.

I am going to go out on a wee little limb and say that Grand Theft Auto 4 is going to be the top selling game of the year.  I haven't even played the game yet but I that feeling this will be one title that will surely be the tops on many "Game of the Year" lists.

This blog will focus on preparing you for Grand Theft Auto 4, giving details you may have missed thanks to so much coverage, and…  More
The NFL draft has come and gone and the Lion's have stunk it up again.  Congrats Matt Millen on being a total douche.

Good thing I am not a Lions fan eh?  GO BEARS!

Anyhow, much like they have done the past couple years, most of the first Madden screen shots of the coming year drop around the post draft period featuring some of the top picks of the draft.  This year they happen to feature the whole first round.

So check out Madden '09, which…  More

The GTA Retrospective
GTAGTA IIGTA IIIGTA VCGTA SAGTA IV

Grand Theft Auto: Vice City was set in the 1980s. This may have contributed to the game's unparalleled level of awesome. The cars, the clothes, and the music all begged the question: was this acceptable in the 80s? Apparently, it was. Besides being set in that most auspicious of decades GTA: VC continued down the path that GTA III set.

So sit back, relax, and let GameRiot take you back to a day when the 1980s were retro chic. And why bother with imagination? The player below contains many tracks …  More

The GTA Retrospective
GTAGTA IIGTA IIIGTA VCGTA SAGTA IV

How do you follow up one of the greatest games of all time in Vice City?  Surely that is what Rockstar asked themselves, as did the fans, knowing inevitably there had to be a sequel to Vice City.  Rockstar answered with the resoundingly larger, more over the top San Andreas.

And while you're cruisin' down the block in your '64 with 20" Daytons, jam to some classic GTA radio.  Westside!!!!!

The GTA Retrospective
GTAGTA IIGTA IIIGTA VCGTA SAGTA IV

They say the best things come in 3's, but for the Grand Theft Auto franchise - the best things began with 3. GTA III catapulted the series from cult classic to mainstream powerhouse. And even though it was only originally available on the Playstation 2, its runaway success in sales assured later ports to both the PC and Xbox.

So sit back, relax, and let GameRiot take you back to a day when 3D was in and 2D was out. And while you're basking in that polygonal paradise why not flip on some good ole …  More
