Unless you have been living under a rock you may have seen that Diablo III was announced at WWI in Paris today.

The long awaited next big thing from Blizzard after WotLK and Starcraft 2, Diablo III looks pretty amazing.  The rumors have been building all week long and our pal Lipton has been on the ball the whole time.

Lots of big news this morning for you folks to check and digest.  E3 is just a couple of weeks and lots of news will seemingly be dropping from that show so stay tuned.

The biggest news for me today was this.  Half Life 2: Episode 3 is supposedly being shown at E3.  Check out the game's entry here.  With an E3 announcement, and with Left 4 Dead this winter, I wouldn't expect this till Spring at the earlier.  But either way it has me stoked.

Good lord, it took long enough. D3 was very nearly on Starcraft status for being long awaited. But rejoice! Diablo is back and 1up has all the goods. Slapnut's already broke this news but I figured I'd repost a bit on account of 1up's in-depth report and screenshot library. So there.

Sony is lining up some big time shooters over the next 6 months or so.  Between Resistance 2, Killzone 2 and of course SOCOM Confrontation. 

SOCOM Confrontation is coming September 16th to the Playstation 3.  It will be available for download and there will be Blu-Ray retail package with this pimp looking Bluetooth headset on the right.  There is no single player so with the BT headset I wouldn't expect the game to cost more than your typical $60 next gen game.

EA may be pissing off some of their Madden fans, but that isn't going to keep the NFL game down.  Recently a lawsuit has been filed against EA for their "anticompetitive conduct" but that is hardly going to phase EA's big money maker.

The latest incarnation of Madden from the crew at EA is officially gold and will be heading to a console near you come August 12th.  There is no PC version this year, more on that here.

Sony is the next company to foray into the world of digital downloads on the home game console front.  Microsoft has featured movies and trailers on Xbox Live for some time now and it was only a matter of time before Sony stepped it's game up as well.

According to the announcement made today the service will debut this summer and allow Sony to send 1's and 0's as movies, trailers and television shows to your PS3.
