Some exciting news is brewing today so make sure you read up to see what is going on in the gaming world today.

Warhammer Online, some of you may have heard of it?  Well the release date is earlier than expected.  We thought Sept. 23rd but it is actually Sept. 18th according to the EA Mythic press release today.  Man up and get ready for some new MMO action.  Preorder and get access to the open beta which should be coming shortly.

Any Chrono Trigger fans out there?  Any Nintendo DS owners out…  More

Welcome back for another gaming centric edition of the Weekly Top Five.  This week's focus is the five greatest consoles of all time.  If you don't agree, too damn bad!  Only my opinion matters!  ;\

Over the years we have seen more consoles than most of us can even remember.  Great machines like the Wii or the NES to failures like the Virtual Boy and Jaguar.  The gaming dump is filled with the failures and successes of the past.  I have owned 9 consoles according to some quick calculations…  More
Quick post before I head off and fall asleep to The Wire.

I was reading around the net today and came across this forum which pretty much validated the thoughts I had when Vir first posted the idea of Sarah Palin a week or two back.  Many women and particularly Hillary backers are going to love this choice by McCain.

Here is a sampling of some of the absurd comments.  I realize this is just is just a small snippet of the online community but it does give you some perspective on why McCain …  More

Fresh from the Penny Arcade Expo, here are five new videos of Fallout 3 in action with some developer commentary.  This is definitely one of the huge titles left this year that should be fantastic on every platform.

So grab yourself a pop or a beer and sit down and enjoy some Fallout 3 action courtesy of Gametrailers, hold on, better make it two of said pop or beer as there is a lot to watch.

Yes, this is a mature game and all the videos have the warning.  No *****ing!

You want Warhammer to be good. You need Warhammer to be good. We use words like balance. Innovation. Fun. We use these words as the backbone of all our gaming desire. Most MMO developers use those words as a punch line.

Okay, so maybe emulating sentence structure from A Few Good Men sets an overly dramatic tone for the topic at hand but Warhammer Online’s success can do nothing but good things for its niche of the gaming industry. A niche that is dominated by World of Warcraft. WAR is alre…  More

Some big news brewing on the horizon today in the gaming industry.  Read on for the scoop.

It seems Square Enix is readying to make a friendly purchase of Tecmo.  Tecmo hasn't fallen on the best of times of late and this would be a wise move on their part.  I question if DOA and Ninja Gaiden are all that valuable, though maybe this could bring Itagaki back to Team Ninja?

Brett Ratner apparently wants to do a Guitar Hero movie.  In what could be the ****tiest movie idea since someone signed off…  More
The final Epic Drop of the week is here for your reading enjoyment.  The big news of the day was already addressed in my Comcast post but there are still some quality stories to cover.

Randy Couture
back in the UFC?  Don't be surprised if it happens.  A settlement could be on the way making Randy fight one of his two "owed" fights and then letting him out of the UFC free and clear.  Funny thing is, had he just fought twice he would have been done by now.  Rumor is Brock Lesnar could be hi…  More

I am proclaiming it already, Comcast has won the "Tech Douchebag of the Year" award.  If the past few years of being in the running wasn't enough, they went and locked up the title this year with today's press release.

Starting October 1st all Comcast customers will now have a 250GB monthly cap for data.  That is upstream and down combined, absolutely ridiculous.  I am going to monitor my bandwidth for the month of the September just on my PC alone, but that won't include the PS3 nor the other…  More

Some morning news here for your reading pleasure before I head out for the day.  The highlight is the 4 page interview with former Team Ninja head, Tomonobu Itagaki.

Capcom is already preparing for the worst when it comes to Street Fighter 4 lag.  Producer Yoshinori Ono noted in a recent interview that they are looking at all sorts of ways of addressing the issue.  "Trying to balance it up at user interface level and input timing by using joystick" may be one of their options.
