The next big Batman game is coming in on the heels of The Dark Knight.  Unfortunately it won't be out this year and thankfully it won't be based on the movie as movie-to-game translations generally suck.

Batman: Arkham Asylum is due out sometime next year on the PC, Playstation 3 and Xbox 360.  No crappy Wii port planned at this time.  The game takes place in the infamous Gotham prison/nut house, Arkham Asylum. I don't know if you get to spend so…  More

God of War 3 made it's first "in-game footage" debut tonight on the Spike TV Video Game Awards.  If you flipped the channel to check a football score you may have very well missed it.  It isn't long, but it does look solid.  Here's the footage thanks to those great folks at 1UP:

God of War 3 'Vengence' trailer

It looks like typical God of War.  I wouldn't judge the quality of graphics yet as we are watching a  cam recording there.  Yes there is less 20 seconds of footage and that irks me a b…  More

I don't cover Starcraft 2 too much thanks to Lipton’s excellent coverage over at Starfeeder.  Every now and then I like to bring some content over this way as well or things he may have missed.

1UP’s excellent “Games of 2009” piece covers the best games of next year (see my list here).  Starcraft 2 was on today’s docket and they talked with lead designer Dustin Browder.
The screenshot headlining the blog is brand new though it may not be fina…  More

Disbarred Jack Thompson is not giving up his title as enemy #1 to the gaming industry.  While he may no longer practice law that isn't stopping him from running his mouth and making an ass out of himself.

The latest news is in regards to his favorite target, Take Two Interactive, the publisher of the Grand Theft Auto series.  It seems their stock has seen better days since earlier this year when EA attempted to buy them out unsuccessfully.  Having dropped from $26 to $7 Jack knows the reason..…  More
Plenty of news to cover in today's Epic Drop including an update on the whole Watchmen/Fox/Warner Brothers fiasco.  Enjoy the blog?  Give it a +1

Should cartoon pornography featuring underage characters and children be illegal?  This guy found out the hard way that it very well may be.  Personally these decency laws seems a bit ridiculous to me.  These laws were meant to protect real children, so what if Joe Schmoe gets off on nudes of Lisa Simpson?

Imagine my surprise today when the Huffing…  More

Tony Hawk, we miss the days of quality games based around your likeness.  The early Tony Hawk games like Pro Skater 1-4 and the Underground series were pretty damn good.  Even a guy like me who isn't big on "all things skating" enjoyed them for being quality games overall.

Unfortunately after Underground 2 things went down hill and the series has suffered.  Skate is the new big dog on the skating ramp.  The Tony Hawk series has languished so much that Activision gave the series a year off …  More
Well it doesn't look as bad as the Dragonball movie, that is a plus right?  It is in Japanese but crap "looks" like crap in either language thankfully.

Unfortunately none of the villains look anything like their in game counterparts.  Yes the fair haired chap from "Walking Tall" is M. Bison.  Michael Clarke Duncan is Balrog and that guy running around with the lame ass mask is apparently Vega played by a member of the Black Eyed Peas.

Much like we expected Valve has Left 4 Dead updates on the way and the announcement was supposed to happen before Christmas.  Well Christmas has officially come and gone and we have no news on the subject yet.

Thanks to Kotaku's podcast with Valve's Chet Faliszek, writer extraordinaire on the game, we some tidbits of news regarding the updates.  You can watch the whole podcast below and I summed up the pertinent info below.  Chet discusses the game's back story as well and how he is a bit more…  More
The Epic Drop is back in action with some quality stories for your consumption.  Make sure you check out tonight's Christmas cheer video as mom and dad get what they have always wanted for Christmas.  +1 if you enjoy this

In case you have been living in a hole the past few days and missed it, Israel smacked the **** out of Hamas Saturday in Gaza.  Sick and tired of Hamas' rocket attacks in southern Israel they have responded accordingly.  While the loss of innocents on both sides is a terribl…  More

The last edition of the Weekly Top Five in 2008 is here for your reading pleasure.  I have covered some quality ground in the past few weeks leading up to this like:  the biggest gaming stories of '08, the worst disappointments of the past year and my most anticipated games of 2009.  Now it is time for the granddaddy of them all the game of the year edition featuring my top five games of the past year.
