I'm about halfway through the modes, so my hope is to get it done by late this afternoon. Sadly, I have to stop playing for a couple hours to upload "Super Smash Bros. Brawl" tournament videos.
= = =
I believe it was IGN that said that some of the regular modes can be brutal. I got a chance to play several 100cc Grand Prix cups, and they were correct.
This is 100cc! This isn't even the main course (150cc). How brutal can it be?

As I mentioned last night, you can't make a mistake. If you fall off the track or hit the skids, you go from first to fourth at best.
But let's say that you don't fall off or ride onto the grass or snow cavities. You're not safe. Oh man, you're far from safe.
Ever get hit by an item, then recover and get hit again? Sure, I'm betting that it's happened to nearly every person that has played any form of Mario Kart.
However, M.K. Wii turned up the insanity about 10 notches.
At times, I was hit by four consecutive items in a span of six seconds. In one race, it happened twice. Twice! It went: red shell, red shell, blue shell, lightning. The first time a quartet happened, I almost threw my controller. The second time, I laughed. I still won that particular race.
Remember, this was on 100cc. I can't imagine what is in store come 150cc.
Back to playing. This game is too fun.

"I was hit by four consecutive items in a span of six seconds"
Happends all the time
But dont worry, 150cc is not that bad. After a few races you will win EVERY time. ( If your not teribad)
The real fun though, starts online

I was going to start playing online immediately, but I want to get some practice in before doing it. About a week, then I'm tearing up the field online. Best believe that.

We try to cover the California tournament scene (and other areas), with an emphasis on "Super Smash Bros. Brawl" and "Madden."
