I'm done for the season unless we decide to mess around with some 5v5 shenanigans Monday night. Our Sunday evening 5s series left us broken and disheartened as we ruptured points to some of the BGs top competition (and some team with a Bryntroll DK). I was hoping to push 5s to 2619 passing an inactive team and being "safe" glad so the pressure was off my 3s team but that didn't happen. As our 5s ended I hopped onto my alt feral druid and started to quest again in Netherstorm shortly thereafter As… More

A post over on AJ about the new Path of the Titans abilities got me thinking. Every expansion we see new abilities which need binds, new activated talents which need binds, and now seemingly we're seeing new alternate activated abilities that are going to need binds. When is enough enough or more specifically when is too many too many? This isn't just a hunter issue either as a lot of the classes in WoW are approaching or have arguably surpassed a critical amount of binds forcing those players no… More

Hunters have come a long way and I along with many others have worked bring to light aspects of the class that are imbalanced from viper sting nerfs, to aimed shot buffs and to help the class evolve into a competitive PvP platform. I challenge anyone to argue that the hunter of today is worse off in regards to being a balanced class than any time in the past. There is however still room for improvement with hunters as there is with every class in the game. Today I want to highlight one broken aspect of the class that has existed since WotLK's inception. … More

Lets start this blog with a question... How can it be that a spec with a silence is weaker than a spec w/o a silence VS casters even when said spec has an ability to reset its cool downs? Many would argue and many would agree with me that inside the confines of the 3v3 bracket SV fares better than MM(despite the abundance of tools MM has) in combating high spell or "wizard" cleaves in a variety of hunter team matrices. We're going to explore why this can possibly be true and what can be changed co… More

Every time I play or watch streams of people fighting as or against hunters I see endless mistakes and strategy issues that I can't help but think are related at least partially to ignorance about the class and its mechanics. I've had situations where I've played multiple teams with the same setup and one gets destroyed and the other wins because they're more aware of hunter weaknesses and how to combat one of the most easily disrupted and the most easily LOSd classes in the game. This blog won't… More

I have a dream that some day soon we'll get to see an experienced capable MM or SV hunter compete in a major arena tournament. I have a dream that the BM tree will disappear from competitive play until it's revamped into something other than a cool down ram and pray spec. 3.3 is on the horizon and with that Blizzard has one of the last if not the last opportunity to get the hunter class set up to be competitive and viable to round out this expansion. So why exactly are non BM hunters having a har… More

I'm losing faith in Marks as we've fought more and more teams that focus on nullifying my damage and being successful @ it. I re-specced back to a high damage output SV build (5/5 MT etc) and my 3v3 team shot up to 2650 last night (2nd in the BG), I've also noticed 5s teams with ever increasing focus on defensive affliction scrubbing which is especially painful as MM/Destro. I will say this however that there are teams where MM definitely has a clear advantage but from my experiences the over … More

Halloween 2k9:I hope everyone has a good time for Halloween. I hit up the local traders store and managed to scramble together a costume for this evening. If anyone is going to be out in Indianapolis tonight you may see me. The sweatshirt is official NASCAR gear so I had to drop 20 bucks on the shirt alone but it will be well worth it. If I had the foresight I would have grown out a sweet mustache but this will have to do. Epic comment:I actually managed to to create a post that had the epicness … More

Yea, you read that correctly. See I'm one of those people that likes to tie up as many loose ends as I can as fast as I can. When I used to raid that meant getting **** on farm as fast as possible so we could cut down to a 2 day raid week leaving as much time as possible to PVP. Nothing was better than having access to the best PVE gear in the game with a limited time investment (farm mode) and being able to utilize that gear to 1 up the competition doing what I enjoyed more than ever which was P… More

For a change of pace I'm going to go over an aspect of the game unrelated to hunters. Doing a few Isle of Conquest BGs this week I've realized that some how people are still clueless at how to best approach this BG. I'm going to go over the basics including how to best approach the BG and a few tips that can help tip the edge in your favor. This is going to be geared toward horde obviously but much of it can be applied to alliance as well for obvious reasons. It's generally accepted by people tha… More
