As our 5s ended I hopped onto my alt feral druid and started to quest again in Netherstorm shortly thereafter Ashius whisped me asking if I wanted to grind some threes. I was still a little upset and disheartened from the last 5s game where we watched Filovirus's (a tri heal team with a 95% win ratio) priest bounce between 30-70% life for close to 2 minutes while OOM as we slammed damage into him hoping for a win but alas that kill never came. None the less I agreed and we rallied our druid and started to queue. We initially started as Destro/SV/Rdruid and had mixed success dropping some games to Billian's RArcanePriest team and we really weren't making any notable progress as we had to boost 100~ rating to get over 2600.
...and then it happened...
As I was sitting there getting ready to queue again some unknown force opened up my spec selection screen and clicked on activate this spec. I was now MM speced and I reached into my stable to pull out my trusty serpent.
It's time to play this comp the way it was meant to be played! There is really only one true way to play Destro/MM/Rdruid and that can only be described as offensively reckless. Push hard, switch hard, CC hard, ram hard. If you're bouncing around 30% life and you think you need to los F that noise and push. Use that health stone, battle masters, and rely on those hots rolling. YOUR job is to create offensive pressure and to push the other team on the defensive. You need to strike the fear of death into your opponents every second of the game. That is how hunter, lock, druid is supposed to be played and that is how we finished the season. We were on a roll dropping our enemies and gaining rate. We reached 2606 and then had to ask one question of ourselves. Continue on or call it for the seasons? We choose to call it as Garathorn's internet has been decisively evil when it comes to it's timing and I didn't want to have to rely on a Monday night push for gladiator due to a possible disconnect. Monday night I'll be in bed early sleeping well knowing the title is secure.
We had mixed success before with me as MM and I don't know what changed. Perhaps it was me feeding on the pressure or maybe it was years of hunter instincts coming out in a blistering display of innate ability. I honestly can't even recount the games we played to finish the night. It's as if they were all just a blur and my subconscious took over and did what needed to be done. Regardless of what exactly happened it was done and I'm fairly satisfied with how the season ended despite not having a hunter's true love to carry me.
Paladins and Hunters have an arena sexual connection.

This is a selection of the top 25 highest rated hunter teams in the world. If I didn't tell you that at first glance you might think I was listing the top paladins. In 3v3 and 5v5 hunters and paladins have a relationship that breeds beautiful results. The added mobility a paladin affords a hunter combined with their raw durability makes them arguably the best healer to support a hunter regardless of bracket. If you're in the team building process the first place you should look is to add a paladin to your team whether that be ret/prot/or holy in 3v3 (all of which have competitive team setups) or a Hpal in 5v5 you'll want one or the other supporting you.
Blessing of might is a HUGE boost to hunter damage and since we're rarely fighting alongside a warrior having a paladin to provide AP is extremely beneficial. Hand of Freedom is just icing on the cake when combined with a frost trap.
I'll be looking for a paladin for my arena teams in S8 if I can manage it and I may not have to look far as Garathorn has started gearing out his Paladin. Internal hiring is usually best in a business environment and I'm hoping that will also hold true for arena. Arguably both my 3v3 and 5v5 team setups would be more powerful just switching out the Resto druid for a paladin and I'm looking forward to seeing if that holds true.
Good luck to everyone crossing their fingers for S7 Glad/RGlad. I'll see you in S8.

levidian has figured it out the focal point of hunter-paladin synergy is, in fact, blessing of might

You obviously didn't read the blog then as HoF and paladin durability were also mentioned.

you also gave no explanation as to why paladin durability synergizes with hunters at all thats just a benefit of being a paladin

Just because I didn't explain it doesn't mean it doesn't exist. It is mentioned and it does have a specific benefit to hunters whether I spell it out of not.
Defensive magic dispel (which druids and shamans don't have) is also a benefit but I don't mention that either. Does that mean it doesn't exist?

and what about a paladins durability does specifically synergize with hunters to make the two work so well together in arena
either
a. you don't know
b. nothing and you just tossed that sentence in your blog to make it look like you actually thought [heh]
c. you do know and are just too lazy to spell it out in a blog [even though thats sort of the point of these types of blogs]

It's because compared to other classes like mages/warriors/rogues/warlocks our ability to protect our healers during a train session or a switch gib is fairly weak all things considered.
Rogues/warriors have easily accessible disarms, active stuns, and if necessary 1 global abilities like blind and aoe fear. Warlocks and mages are both blessed with spammable CC, and other control such as nova/D coil etc.
Hunters however while not void of abilities to help (RoS, Scatter) We're rather limited and we're often forced to use said abilities for other reasons. One of the best strats against hunters is to open on the hunter forcing CD use and then switching to his healer/teammate while his support cool downs are cooling. Having a get out of jail free card like divine shield can be extremely beneficial to a team and allow them to recover from a defensive position that other healers wouldn't have been able to do.
If I utilize my RoS/Scatter early and they attempt to switch gib a paladin on my team he has his own powerful CD to utilize and when that wears off my RoS will be coming back up again. A paladin and hunters abilities combined allows extensive defensive play when necessary and supports the ability to outlast offensive cool downs and turn the momentum of a fight.
One example would be TSG vs Hunter/druid/warlock on RoV, from the time the gates open the druid is trained into the ground while we're forced to try to come back from a defensive position from the very start of the fight. In the case of a paladin he would be able to utilize bubble once forced low and potentially turn the fight around since the melee would be forced to target switch.
Another point which isn't specifically mentioned in the blog is HoP support which is valuable as hunter/caster team setups are fairly popular once you get away from the cleave teams like beastcleave and protwar/hunter. The defensive use of HoP can give the hunters partner the defensive freedom to be offensive and work on control/damage pushes when necessary supporting offensive pressure and adding another fail safe while abilities like ice block, demonic portal, and dispersion are coolling down. On that note keep an eye out for teams like ShadowPriest/Hunter/Holy Paladin to potentially make some noise in S8.

If I was paid to blog I would take more than 30 minutes to write one. I do this for ****s and giggles and because I know there are some hunters that appreciate my insight.
I'm curious as to why you're seemingly worried about the quality of my blog.
Also, you do realize the paladin portion of the blog wasn't the overwhelming theme right?
Now, If the title of the blog was just "Holy paladins and hunters..." you would be write that it should be all inclusive because it would only be addressing that one theme. It is not however.

So you don't play anymore but you like reading about high end arena analysis?
Why? If you're not even invested in the game anymore why spend time reading wow related content?

Cool story Hansel.
It sounds like you should just give it up then and compete for glory and honor IRL.

I see what you're trying to do here, but it's true regardless that different team setups have to play differently. For example if you're a hunter fighting against a UA warlock the longer the fight lasts the higher chance you have of losing.
If you play something like MM/Destro/Rdruid you HAVE to be offensive, recklessly offensive at times. If you're playing HPal/Protwar/Hunter you can reset and turtle at times as needed. Different comps call for different strats/play styles.

ProtRets and Hunters are 2 of the dumbest classes on live currently with pve gear. Hunter damage is WAY too high right now, to the point if they get an opening shot which is inevitable with all of their escapes now you're down to 1/3 life in a matter of seconds. its completely retarded.
ProtRets are like ProtWarriors right now. Massive survivability, utility, and with pve gear they can 3shot. did the blizztards really need to give this class a snare/silence/damage ability all in one? on top of shields?
the new PvE gear gave some classes/specs way too much damage, while their talents make them way too well rounded. WoW PvP is broken right now, only reason to login is for pve lameness.

like half of those teams are twix and toez, and they breed titles

That still doesn't change the fact that a vast majority of the top hunter teams are healed by paladins. If you extended it to top 50 the same thing holds true.
