Here's the entry I promised for you guys, I apologize for the late post but I ended up in Miami for the past week. That means no fraps yet, so I did a quick YouTube search and I'll share some of that footage that I found along with my thoughts on beta so far.
Things to note are that the servers are extremely unstable right now and lag is a big issue. They are working right now on the networking to get everything running smoothly for the ~3k people trying to access the same server. This means combat footage looks terrible because of all the lag, so bear with me until I can get some good PvP footage. Also, the graphics are not maxed out because beta locks the settings so it will look even better at release if that's even possible.
I suggest clicking on each video and watching in HD for full viewing pleasure.
And for the people living under a rock you can find out about MO HERE.

Beta Impression
I’ve been messing around with Mortal Online for the past couple days and I got to say so far it’s a winner. Sure it has its negatives right now – server stability, bugs, and lacks polish. But, that’s to be expected for a beta stress test of this size (~3k players slamming the server). The lag right now makes it extremely hard to PvP, but with the networking fixed and the game ironed out this is going to be THE MMO for the PvP hardcore crowd. It has the best first person view I have seen done in any game and the great game play to back it up.
Now onto the combat the most important part of any PvP game. I’ll paste a quick excerpt from the MO Manual to give you an idea of what the combat is like until I can get some good lag free footage.
“To enter combat mode/draw your weapons hit “X” key (make sure to have a weapon in your hands, drag and drop or right click to equip to these slots.)
Clicking left mouse button = a random swing as fast as possible
Click and hold left mouse button = Charge a swing release button to swing. Stamina will continuously drain while you hold a swing charged and if you run out your weapon will be lowered. You'll then have to wait until you've recovered enough stamina to swing again. Depending on your movement the direction of your swing differs.
Hold right mouse button to block (all weapons and shields can block, EVEN when 2 players strikes at each other’s at the same time you are actually able to hit the blade, which results in a block.)
Hold right mouse button and left click to push back an opponent
Hold Alt key and left mouse button to thrust (strikes straight forward where you aim)
Strafe left and use left mouse key to use left arm in an attack (strikes from left to right, uses left weapon hand).”
That’s just for the basic white attacks you have to figure in abilities and skills you will also be using in combat. From the laggy PvP combat experience so far it is extremely skill-based and fun to play.
It almost seems insane that we are seeing something so in-depth for a MMO. I want to leave you with that I’m feeling extremely optimistic about MO and I see it succeeding and being a great game to be playing for years just like the classic UO.
If you are interested in MO and want to get in beta check out THIS.
I’ll update my next MO beta diary within the next couple of weeks as they add more of the launch features and polish the game.

The texturing is pretty much terrible. And seriously, promo pictures taken without AA?
I'm sharing the photos available to us right now if you don't want to see them don't look.
Aren't those used as promo by quadsoftware?
And the engine is unreal 3 not grome. Grome is a terrain making toolkit.
Thanks,
Kyle.
The fps camera view looks beautiful and awesomely done.
