So after reading the replies on my previous blog, I went ahead and went this build for Day 1.

http://www.worldofwarcraft.com/info/classes/paladin/talents.html?tal=503121503021320531021312300000000000000000000000000052300502030002000000000000

Not optimal looking back on it, but I got a taste of divine purpose.  Only comp I've run so far is mutilate rogue/unholy deathknight/paladin.  It's definitely nice, but I still found myself missing beacon , shorter cooldown freedom, and 30 second hoj.  I also found myself having to blow other cooldowns almost immediately after freedoming my rogue out of stuns, especially when there was another rogue on him.  I even had him die a few times with me bubbled chaining heals onto him, so I think a pretty strong case for divine guardian can be made as well.  I will also be picking up max holy guidance and switching to glyph of seal of light.  Anything to make my holy shock and other heals do more.  I initially thought Zilea's spec and reply to my first blog was retarded, and I was right.  I never even got close to going oom in the 30 games I played last night.  I didn't play enough good teams to decide if I want to keep divine purpose or not yet but the two specs I''m going to try when I get the chance are:

http://www.wowhead.com/?talent=sxGbxhzGVuMxRLZVdbxbh0b  - Divine Purpose Build

http://www.wowhead.com/?talent=sxGbxhzGVuMxRtacbGf - Holy/Prot Build

Basically, I dropped aura mastery, pure of heart, and sacred cleansing from my other build.  Aura mastery because I'm running with 2 people who don't benefit from concentration aura and I use this almost exclusively (unless I forget to switch from crusader aura).  Pure of heart seemed nice to me at first, but I didn't realize just how fast paced arenas were going to be.  Things were dying within my bubble that I used at first sign of getting interrupted or slowed on healing.  Eventually, if the pace slows down much, I will pick pure of heart up again.  Pretty much the same thing for sacred cleansing.  People were using cooldowns or getting cleansed to get out of magic debuffs almost immediately, and the resistance against disease and poison just doesn't seem great vs DK and rogue right now.  I don't have many globals to spam cleanse with damage the way it is, and they're applied so frequently a 30 percent chance for 30 percent resist just isn't all that meaningful right now.

Haven't touched my priest yet, and probably other then to get some points from 5s or something for awhile.  Most priests ate dirt almost immediately against our team, but there was one who did a pretty decent job of staying alive running rmp (he had like 800 resilience and over 20k unbuffed hp).  His inability to keep his teammates up though wasn't a surprise really, and I think this could potentially be a problem for priests in the future.  On a side note, mirror image poly is gay and needs to be nerfed THANKS!

Hmm, not sure how I even got orange text on there.  Must have been when I copy pasted one of the links.  Fixed!

I've been advocating 49/0/22 pretty hard for the early season, it was probably me who suggested it. I got to try it yesterday as well, but with AP Mage/Mut Rogue. The faster pace seems to kind of eliminate some of the need for 30-second HoJ and very, very rarely was I ever healing two people.

I will probably try Holy/Prot in the next few days, I think the spec you just posted is a lot better than the one you posted in the last blog. Very, very rarely was I free to spam Cleanse and take advantage of SC. I also think Divine Guardian is a must if you're going to go that deep into Protection. Pure of Heart is basically just CoT and Hex, and you're going to trinket the latter IMO.

Don't rule out what you give up by leaving Retribution. Besides Divine Purpose you're dropping undispellable Seals (2 GCDs to JoJ someone can be crippling), PoJ for kiting and 1/2 duration Dismantles, and a pretty significant 8% Spell Crit.

Well I am playing at the moment with an unholy DK so I have unholy aura a good percentage of the fight.  The dismantle thing doesn't matter at all as you don't lose armor/stats when you get dismantled, and it doesn't prevent you from judging either.  But the spell crit and undispellable seals are great.  I could have definitely made use of 30 second hoj, and i think split damage will be a very very viable strategy.  A tough choice, but sticking with the ret spec for now.

Are you absolutely positive that you don't lose the armor? I understand that maybe the character sheet shows that you don't lose armor, but has anyone done a test by checking to see if damage stays the same after a dismantle? I don't trust the character sheet because it's buggy and doesn't always seem to display the correct values or is slow to update.

If it doesn't reduce armor it's neat that dismantle is basically a big **** you to warriors because they're the only class that has key defensive abilities (spell reflect and shield wall) tied to using a shield.

I got a rogue to dismantle myself and a shaman friend followed by mutilating us. Armor definitely doesn't drop in the tool tip and it looks like damage remains the same to indicate that it isn't a display bug.

Which means that dismantle is best used defensively except when facing a warrior... Hurray for warriors, my dk is 71!

I really agree with the majority of what's being said.  DP is only so great right now because people are dying in stuns so fast :\.  It's nice to be able to DP my rogue out of a cs so he can react before he gets hit with insane dmg followed up with a ks.  Same goes for getting myself out of stuns when I don't want to use trinket or it's down.

I'm probably going to test out holy/prot once I can get more resilience and dmg isn't so out of control.  Beacon has so much potential, so I'm def not giving up on it for pvp yet.  Holy Prot just seems to favor longer games so much more.

I'm really having a problem giving up the 8 crit in ret though, when a holy shock crit is as important as it is right now.  + The lack of crit on our offpieces

The 30s HoJ is probably more useful for you than for me with an AP Mage and targets dying before the CD would be up. Admittedly I haven't got to do more than a handful of games with Naxx being last night, so I can't speak from anything but anecdotal experience.

The Dismantle doesn't prevent Judgeing but I'm about 95% sure it's bugged and doesn't show the loss of armor. I dueled a Rogue yesterday, and almost dropped in 3 seconds with a Dismantle/Expose Armor combo. I should have tested it further (and will tonight) but it seemed that I took far more damage Dismantled than just Exposed, and I didn't block any attacks while it was up either. If I hadn't had DP I wouldn't have won. Right now I don't really think I'm beatable by Rogues.

If split damage becomes a viable Strategy than I am going to be one happy camper :) Paladin is already one of the best healers in the game (ignoring the current state of damage) and I don't see how any other healer can compete with Beacon.

What are your stats like/name of your Paladin? I'm not quite in ideal gear but I'm at something like 53% Holy Shock crit with 1950 +Healing. My crit trinket means no Egg, I kind of wish I were a human... except when we kill people inside Arcane Torrents.

Hah, yeah you do :P

http://www.wowarmory.com/character-sheet.xml?r=Mug'thol&n=Oradol

I have 2 trinkets but I can't use them both :( For now, I think it will be the Egg. What Blizzard needs is a trinket with +84 Resilience and an on use +SP or +Haste ability (or procc based). I think long run not needing a PvP trinket is going to be cool as a human, but short term it's sucks that you're missing the Resil.

I'll probably ditch the Boots for now, the itemization kind of sucks. The Cloak/Neck are itemized really well so I'll probably go for them first.

I do want The Undying though :(

I was using like cloth boots or something before so I bought the pvp boots first.  My aim for trinkets is going to be Embrace of the Spider / Living Ice crystals.  Might drop embrace for rune of repulsion but I doubt that.  Embrace is so much better then egg, procing off cleanse and judgements -.-

Boots makes sense then haha. I hate mine, I passed on Poignant Sabatons 3 weeks ago and haven't seen a pair of epic boots drop since.

Rune of Repulsion the Parry trinket? Hmm... I picked up the Soul of the Dead last night. it's pretty insane, it will work out to about 75 MP5 and has over 2% Spell Crit, really potent when damage in Arenas settles down and matches become less about heal-size and mana becomes a factor. I don't think Divine Plea is going to go without nerfs. I don't really like the Living Ice Crystals unless the heal portion benefits from +SP.

Spider's is sick, I'll be rolling against plenty of other casters for it though I'm sure. Have you thought about using both that and the Egg? Neither has an ICD on the proc and they can stack.

err I meant forethought talisman lol.  Soul is alright if/when mana regen matters, but for now I'd much rather have the heal trinket.  It doesn't scale with spell power but it can crit and is based off your spell crit so yea.

Yeah that isn't bad. I'll be using a +Healing trinket like Egg/Spider until damage becomes at least somewhat under control. I rank Soul pretty high up there, just not quite yet. Right now I have much more MP5 than I'd like (I'd rather have none to be honest). Once I equip T7 legs, PvP Neck/Cloak, PvP BP/Helm, a new shield and better ring I'll have none. I'm guessing the same is for you (you have about as much as I do). So while mana doesn't seem to be even a slight problem now, once I get "better" gear I think it actually will be worse.

I'm probably going to try to pick up a Forethought since there isn't much left for me in 25. Having 4-5 trinkets at your disposal doesn't hurt, especially if you were a human.

Do you think Pally/Warrior is a viable 2's comp Kintt? What spec would you recommend? Good read.

Yea I think its viable.  Either of the two specs I linked would prolly work.  But with the large amount of Plds/mages/and rogues I think ret sub is probably best.  It's such a tough decision though, gotta play more to decide.

I have to admit, I had absolutely no idea that people would be dying faster than patch 3.0.
I've only used Divine Plea two times in all of my games.

So, yes, you're right Kintt, currently, my specc is awful. It won't be if resilience makes the game more like pre 3.0

Generally though, the game is obscenely stupid right now. Every team runs a rushdown strat onto one player and someone always dies in less than 10 seconds
