Recently, Razed has been attempting to gear his dwarf priest. I figured that I would help him out by getting him points every week and Gladiator for the season (later realizing that you can't do that anymore durr).

So, we created a 2v2 - A 180 resil (he didn't have gloves at the time), 800 healing, 9K HP buffed discipline priest and a very well-geared resto druid.

First off, the combo is pretty awful (but that goes without saying). Secondly, he's squishy as hell and has less healing than most casters have spell damage.

How'd it go? We hit 1780 (the owner of the druid disbanded the team -.-). Yes, 1780 is far from impressive, but looking around Ironforge, you'll find that idlers that are wearing full vengeful are mostly on 1400-1600 teams (unless they're on a point-buying team heh). We beat several Warrior/Druid teams, Priest/Rogue teams, this Tier 6 Paladin/Warrior team (among other PW teams), and even squeaked wins against Healer/Warlock teams. Again, this is Disc Priest/Resto Druid.

----

S4 reminds me of the AP tests. Some genius decided that one of the factors in ranking schools is "Number of Students That Take an AP". Schools in South Carolina actually pay for the exams for their students (86$ a pop) and not surprisingly, they all get 1s or 2s (but hey, the school's rating goes up!). Although this is frowned upon, it actually boosts the scores of other students since the AP is scaled. Everyone wins, the SC students don't pay for the tests, their schools get better ratings, and everyone else scores higher.

Allow me to tie this to the Season 4 changes. Right now, bad players are paying for their ratings to be boosted. Once they have all the gear, they have some incentive to play arenas. Team-Selling is frowned upon, because it "screws the balance", but can you imagine what it would be like without it?

----

OMG THE TOURNAMENT WHY ARE YOU STILL ONLY 1850 WTFFFF
We'll start playing again this week.

----

P.S. Ming and those idiots that made their team name "GoingToRapeHafuAtRegionsIRL" or whatever are ******* creeps.

How long did it take for the teams you faced to AFK on average?

would be interesting to let him bust out the pewpew shadow form. Then see where that takes you.

Meh, some of it is outlasting, and I think that Disc Priest does a better job of that.

It wouldn't matter atm because of his gear.

Also I lost access to the druid because I *****ed at the owner for disbanding my 2v2 team to get back at me for changing his bars.

I'm pretty sure most states pay for AP tests that correlate to a class you've taken. Virginia paid for all of mine back in early 2000 =P

If they hadn't paid for it I certainly wouldn't have taken the AP Comp Sci exam... God that test was miserable.

AP exams in california are charged directly to students. I had to pay I think $81 for each of my AP exams. Actually, numerous friends I had didn't take AP exams just because of the cost. Pretty foolish considering they took the class but my high school was a blue ribbon high school and had an AP class for literally every subject: Physics, Government, Psychology, Calculus, Statistics, Chemistry (just to name a few). The list goes on.

AP exams are a joke and dont replace University level instruction especially in the case of lab oriented courses such as Physics and Chemistry.

Of course they're a joke.  They're for your academic resume, so you can get INTO good schools.  High school in general was a joke.  The ACT was even a joke, and people still don't even realize how much good schools look at that.  24ish is the average?  Pretty sad

Except that you can get college credit if you "pass" the AP exams which allows students to bypass what I would consider a proper education.

So you end up with students in say Organic Chemistry who have no idea how to determine the Limiting Reactant or even use an analytical balance because AP courses are taught (for the most part) as test prep courses where the objective is to get the students to excel at the exam instead of actually understanding and being able to apply the material in real life circumstances.

That is definitely true.  It's sad that schools are just money machines nowadays, trying to go for blue ribbon and all that.  I was lucky and a couple of my AP teachers did a good job.

Connecticut definitely didn't pay for mine the years I took them in HS (2000 and 2001), but I'm not sure if that's still the case.

The schools I'm referring to pay for students that literally random the multiple choice section and leave the essays blank.

anyway yeah, they pay for the tests in classes you take, but if you want to take other tests you have to pay for those yourself.

At my school, student were required to pay for their own exams, so I didn't take any, I just took the courses to better prepare me for college.  Although the year after I left, they made the AP test a requirement for the 5-point GPA scale from the AP class, basically forcing students who want to take AP to pay for their grade.

My AP teachers were the best teachers at the school.  Most of them were older and they actually enjoyed teaching and made the classes enjoyable.

Yet the actually classes cost around $500 each at a university.

Not to mention books are around $100. But it's ok, cause you can just sell your books back...for $15.

The whole "do well on the AP and you save money" thing is bull**** though because 90% of the time you're going to take a higher level course if you get college credit from the exam.

What you mean bull****?

My brother took AP classes in highschool and walked into college with around 24 credits.
After a semester he is a classified sophmore.

How does that not save you money?

You have to take the basic courses for the 1st 2 years in college regardless. The AP exams speed that up.
