Raptus and I hopped on Hellion to get points this week. We usually do pretty well, since there are mostly Warrior teams at 2300 and they are food for us. Unfortunately, this week we were queuing at the same time as a team called High Maintenance. They have a very impressive record of 79-3, clearly dominating the ladder. I assume they are 2400 now because we fed them about 45 points.

Warlock/Paladin seems to be the best counter to Warlock/Rogue, or any double DPS for that matter. Most Rogue/Lock teams I've seen go for the warlock first, hoping to drop him after the bubble. I don't think that's possible against a good team. The warlock sent in his pet recklessly and I managed to kill it, but even without a second pet he was able to stay alive during a full fear with Sacrifice. I didn't manage to get a bandage off during the bubble because his Voidwalker ignored my vanish and continued to hit me around the pillar. If we played them again, they could have checked to see if it was us then start with a Voidwalker, requiring us to blow through two Sacrifices, which simply isn't going to happen.

Going against the paladin is not a reliable strategy either. I'm forced to blow my cooldowns offensively to force the paladin to bubble, and after my trinket/vanish/CloS are down I get feared relentlessly. With Blessing of Freedom, it's very difficult for me to keep the paladin locked down 100% of the time and if he gets one heal off outside of bubble then the game is lost.

I didn't mention that they are both human, meaning that all they have to do to get me out of stealth is turn on Perception and run around the pillars with their mounts.

Anyone have an idea how to beat them? I'm not ruling out the possibility that I suck, but it seems that the matchup is stacked against us very heavily.

Edit: I watched Neilyo's video where they fought the Warlock/Paladin team again. I can say that the team they fought was a joke; the paladin stood right next to the warlock and the warlock didn't bother to sacrifice.

You know, I don't know because I've never fought them, the guys we see on videos, but sometimes they "trivialize" some arena matrix's showing how easy they are, when sometimes what we see on videos are scrubs playing. I'm a Rogue and play with a Frost Mage, I only play 2v2 as is very hard to find any other guys to play properly arena on my server. And what I can tell ya... is Warlock / Paladin is insane for us.

Going for the Paladin is what we do, My mate try to sheep Lock, but been Spell Locked, feared, Warlock with BoF... doesn't Help. While we make Paladin bubble, my mate is almost dead. I run, CoS, Vanish, Bandage, eat, etc... But then with the mage almost dead, 2v1 isn't much easy, and this is most of the fights we went happened. We won once or twiece... I know we are no pro's and only on season 2 we started to play a little more, but it shows that combo is pretty strong to 2v2. When we won I think Lock was AFK! ;P

Btw, if you can leave your opinion here on my Spec choice for season 3 with Rogue buffs considering I have a 2v2 with a Friend Frost Mage I would appreciate the tips. :) Thanks and kudos!

Normally they start with Felhunter, but we managed to kill it right away one game and he was forced to Fel Dom->Voidwalker to stay alive. The other games weren't nearly as close.

Tried COT kicking or spell locking the void spawn to get some decent time DPSing the warlock without SL?

That's if we kill the pet quickly enough, and there is no way to prevent a .5 sec cast when I'm already around the pillar after finishing off the pet.

Not at super high rating but my suggestion is to put as much pressure as you can on the Pally save your blind for when he bubbles. Blind the warlock which will force him to either BOP the lock or he won't and it should give you enough breathing room to beable to Fear/Sap or whatever CC on the lock and get back on the pally, between Tongues, kick, kidney shot and gouge you "should" beable to stop him healing. Hopefully your lock can control their lock better than their lock can control you allowing you to kill the Pally.

From my experience it's too easy for them to get at least one Holy Light off outside of bubble and that makes it incredibly difficult to win.
