As I am sure is well known by now, 2.4.2 is currently set up to introduce an instant cast version of Scare Beast with a 30 yard range.  What I say here probably won't be news or fresh insight, but I really don't care.  While this isn't a final set of patch notes, and may not even make it remotely in the final version of 2.4.2, it makes a statement about the kind of attitude that is being taken towards balancing this game.

So in case you haven't heard yet, blizzard has changed the 4 piece bonuses on the arena gear for druids, and I presume other classes as well. Before I get into discussing it, take a look:

Restoration (Live):
Increases your movement speed by 15% while in Bear, Cat, or Travel Form. Only active outdoors.

Restoration (2.4 PTR):
The casting time of your Healing Touch spell is reduced by 0.25 sec.
The casting time of your Regrowth spell is reduced by .2 sec.

Feral (Live):
Increases your movement speed by 1…  More

Everyone else seems to be doing some variant of the "2.4 changes I'd like to see," so I figured I'd have a go at it. I don't claim to be an expert on other classes so I won't even include them.


Feral Changes

Nurturing Instinct now provides 40/80% of the druid's caster form AP to +healing.

So I've decided to bite the bullet and respec. Not to restoration though, I'm not desperate to be winning with that little effort. Feral has been a lot of fun and very challenging, but it's time to try something new.

Clever title, isn't it? Well, I thought it was clever.

Blizzard has taken quite an odd turn in allocating the season three feral gear. It seems like the horde of players who cried about the healing were listened to, while many of the higher rated ferals, who championed the benefits of healing and nurturing instinct, were largely ignored.
