I ask myself the same question about the s2 thing, I'm pretty sure its because these retards rather keep a horrible epic set instead of wearing better lvl80 blues.

 

because blizz hates casuals and didn't put in an epic bg set so we're forced to wear S2 epics

 

If you don't raid/PvE you aren't getting that much better equipment than S2 until 80.  I haven't found much in terms of upgrades when it comes to just questing.  Most BG'ers i've seen aren't even 75 yet although its erratic.  Even with welfares at 50-60k honor a pop i don't think you'll see too many BG'ers with much better than S2 for a while. 

Its funny how out of touch Gameriot'ers are with the masses.  I did a BG the other day and i swear everyone was 70-71 but me, and i see more 70-75's than anything 75+ in my battlegroup.  Strands tends to have a higher player level, the other BG's are mostly < 75. 

 

S2 is terrible and is better to use blue questing items in bgs.

 

Maybe it depends on the class.  I just know everything i've picked up doing quests up to 79 haven't really been better than the S2 i have.  Then again my S2 is enchanted out, and i'm not about to enchant out questing blues i'll be throwing away at 80. 

The only reason i'd gear out with Wotlk gear right now would be for a haste based set.  Otherwise i drop in just about every other stat.  80 gear is a huge jump up though, even from what i've seen of 75-79 gear unless i'm questing in the wrong places.
