Maybe you're the noob who feels like he can't hold his own in this 10-man capture-the-flag mayhem?
Worry no more.
Here are some tips sure to improve your game!
(And likely everyone around you will follow your great example!)
1. Fighting does not equal winning. (Although fighting does have it's place - Defense.)
-The object of Warsong Gulch is to capture the flag.
-Fighting is not always necessary, slowing/CCing is often a better choice.
2. Fighting does NOT equal winning.
-Every time you see an enemy, you do not have to engage, you can simply run by enemies to make your way to the real objective.
3. Grab the flag, for God's sake!
-If you're in the enemy flag room to take the flag, TAKE IT.
-Fighting or waiting around doesn't help you run the flag.
-After you take the flag, RUN, DON'T STOP.
4. OMG LRN2CLICKFLAG.
-Knowing how and being proficient at clicking a dropped flag is imo the most important skill in WSG. This goes for friendly- and enemy-dropped flags.
-When you see a flag is about to drop, spam right click above carrier's head in the direction they are facing.
-Fear bomb before the drop is pretty sick.
5. Defend your flag carrier.
-If you can heal, heal.
-If you can slow/CC, slow/CC.
-The whole team abandoning your flag carrier to chase that feisty kitty sprinting across the field is a good way to lose.
I haven't played a WSG in a while, and that's all I can think of atm. If you have any suggestions I'll edit some more pro tips in.
The reason I chose WSG is because it's always been my favorite BG and is very strategy-based - Fighting does not equal winning. AB/EotS/AV, while not completely devoid of strategy, involve a lot more necessary killing.

Run out and intercept the other team if their entire team is running across the field. Usually I can get 4-6 Alliance to dismount and kill me at the start, and sometimes we have a pretty decent headstart on bringing back the flag.
But don't do it after the start, or I'll kill you.
Also, give up when the class balance looks like this.

lol so true...and they just end up getting more and more buffed due to arenas ;p
you stack them, and give them open los anywhere and its just stupid.
i hate going up against that type of makeup, which happens more than it should due to ally being so NE Hunter based :P

theres alot of ways to play WSG IMO, but it also depends on what you have. i mean every game i go into always has something and lacks somethign from another game. one game you have a beast druid flag runner, next game you have nobody that wants to do it. one game you have D FR guards, next game everyone is out in mid. this is where i think individuals can shine where they can fill the roles and make the difference most players cant/dont know any better to do....but its also the frustration of PUG'ing as well. take the good w/ the bad IMO.
i just dont agree there should be specific rules everyone must follow. its kind of like people who think everyone must take 3 towers in EOTS, and if they go for the flag they are nubs. Its very similar to sitting on 3 nodes in AB or going for more. you have to play it according to what your opponent is doing, and it doesnt always make sense to have a rule of thumb that isnt always applicable. what i mean is if the other team is zerging the middle flag in EOTS you obviously go for a 3rd/4th tower....if the enemy are zerging nodes w/o equal proportion then you go for way more than 3 caps, and ninja behind them. alot of BG's is reacting off the opponent, and alot of people dont understand that IMO....the ones always yelling at everyone like they have to follow rules of thumb. i think i hear that in EOTS the most, where some people think everyone HAS to get 3 towers to win, and calling PUGs that hold 2 towers and take the flag nubs....i just dont agree.
another issue i've seen is people end up playing on teams then go into a pug thinkiing those same strats work, when the teams they play on are way more class well rounded and better players generally player for player where the strats they used are ezmode based on them being teams vs pugs. I see this in AV so much where so many stupidass's think if everyone rushes w/ no D they can win in 5 minutes like they do on the premades vs pugs....and what happens is they end up getting stomped not even making it to the enemy base before ally has killed the General. Players by and large in WoW are really dumb IMO, almost like AI dumb, and dont think for themself, they dont factor in logic but more rely on copycat'ing other successful strategies that dont apply to PUG's for obviouis reasons....like in a scenario i just mentioned.

You know you don't always have to post essay length responses.

This isn't true, sometime people that have no business carrying the flag take it and die instantly(ie warlock with pre70 leveling gear on).

You are ineffective at grabbing from a warlock with pre70 leveling gear on.

no because most likely the 5 people beating on him will be clicking for the flag too.

What to do when under geared grabs flag.
1. Nothing wait in the flag room.
fc dies
2. Take flag when its returned.
3. Run the other way out off the room so you avoid the defense.
Works every time.

Not sure if you mean me or Kelsar, but what Kelsar said works very well. If you get a distraction to run GY side then book it down the tunnel or vice versa you're home free.
If you meant me, this post was serious business.
