THAT'S WHY I MADE A FEMALE GNOME WARRIOR.

Now we've gotten that out of the way, this will be an introduction of sorts, I guess, as well as some musings on... stuff. To be quite honest I don't even know why I am writing this. I suppose it's because I'm pretty bored and I have nothing to do, but then I would usually go play a game of DotA or something. I think it's probably because I want people to read my writing, I don't know. Why else would people write blogs, if they don't like attention or don't want people to read what they have written? Don't give me that bull**** about it being an ediary either, because if you really wanted to keep your thoughts somewhere you'd just write it in Word or something. People write blogs because they want/like attention.

Anyway, I started playing WoW on release and I started out on Blackrock because my friends told me to play here. Unable to handle the ****ty server it was at the time, I quit my level nine character and started a mage on a random server called Dethecus. It was a terrible server, WoW became boring so I quit before I even hit sixty, QQ. Months later my friends got me back into the game while talking about it one day, and I was pretty bored of DotA, which I was playing competitively at the time. I thought also because I had completed my senior year at high school it would be safe to play.

We started levelling characters on Wildhammer, a new server at the time. This time I played an undead warrior and actually hit the level cap. We managed to get into a guild named “Hording School”, which later became the premier guild of the server. We later merged with some Banana Boyz guild with transferred and the guild was eventually renamed Recursion. Unfortunately, the majority of the guild was American, which meant they raided during American times (duh). Being Australian, I eventually got sick of the raiding times as it meant I had to wake up early and I quit again.

DotA gets boring again, and The Burning Crusade was nearing release. One of real life friends, “Chim” (which some may know as the creator of the “Chim Minimalist” Discord UI) convinced me and a few other friends to play on Blackrock with promises of an Australian raiding guild made up of all pretty much people he knew in real life. It was pretty enticing, so I made a gnome warrior since the racial is overpowered. I hit level thirteen before I realized I couldn’t be bothered levelling, and I was going to quit again when one of my friends levelled it for me – to seventy! Alas, my friend is a bastard and after convincing us to play, quits the game.

I now play a gnome warrior on Blackrock, which is a server in the notorious Bloodlust battlegroup. For those few that don't know, it is noted/hyped for being the most competitive battlegroup, and for the record it's the best battlegroup in the entire world too, just to piss off you ****** haters.

I think I would have quit the game again some time ago if it were not for the balance of raiding and arena to keep me interested, as well as my friends. Although I only raid casually (my guild just killed Kael), arena gets old after a while and it would have been enough incentive to get me to quit. The main problem in WoW at the moment is not the balance in my opinion, it’s the time investment required. You have to put so much time into one character to be competitive enough in PvP, yet you have to put even more time if you want additional characters.

You can’t just get another level seventy either – you have to gear it up through a lot of tedious instance runs, and honor grinding. It’s ridiculous as playing one character can get really stale. I can play DotA and pick any hero to play so I can have the pleasure of raping bads. In WoW I have to gear up a new character every time I want to rape bads from a different perspective. Considering how much time I have put into my warrior, and other aspects of my life I have to attend too, that is simply something I am not willing to do.

I remember being pretty interested in arena as soon as I got to play my character at level seventy, but I was in blues. Needless to say, I pretty much got raped because I was using this 392 top end damage blue weapon from Mech, Plasma Rat’s Hyper Scythe or something. I thought TBC might’ve changed the gear dependency from vanilla but I was wrong. A few weeks later I got my Gorehowl and my rating went from ~1800 to ~2000 in one night. However, once again I hit a cockblock because almost every warrior team from here had a Stormherald which had like 60 more top end damage as well as “LOL MACE STUN IS SKILL”.

Once again, I had to spend time getting the gold etc, to level blacksmithing and then get the vortexes from Stormherald. Well basically, long story that’s getting longer short, I eventually finished season two with gladiator ranking in 2v2 and 3v3 because I am so good (looking).

Season three has been of late, boring. The competition in 2v2 (lol, yes I realize it’s a retarded bracket) is just not there and I’ve had three different teams with different druids in the top 20, and it wasn’t even remotely difficult to get there. I guess it’s also because I’ve improved a lot myself from when I started playing. I remember vsing Hoodrych/Sacapuntas (which he probably doesn’t remember – I was using a different name for my warrior then -_-) a lot during season two, and even though I hated him and the rest of AG since they always liked to talk ****, win or lose; he was the first (and only warrior) to this date that actually intimidated me. I knew I was nowhere near as good as him when we started playing.

In hindsight, I have actually learnt more from playing him about the warrior class then anybody else. Just mimicking the stuff he would do and copying his playstyle helped develop mine a lot.

I haven’t had the chance to experience much 3v3 lately, due to my warlock quitting the game. I pretty much refuse to play with any other warlock on Blackrock because they are all **** compared to him, which is pretty depressing. I would like to play 3s again, but I don’t think it’s going to happen because I’m such a dickhead when it comes to trying out new people. About 5v5, I never got a good team together in season two, but Milk Tea/Boba Milk Tea/BobaTaro MilkTea who transferred back to Blackrock from Ner’zhul recruited me after hearing I was a ‘good warrior’, and it’s been fun playing with them, even though the 5’s bracket is just as boring as the 2v2 bracket at the moment.

I think the best thing about the arena system was that you could **** talk your opponents. Blizzard had to be ******* and remove it, so now I can’t call the team we just raped bad. I would like to see the ability to talk to your opponents put back in, as well as premade characters. I realize it’s hard for WoW, due to the nature of a MMO being a timesink, but a server where you could play any character geared out would be good. I would also like to see more arena maps, and rated battlegrounds. There isn’t much to do in WoW, and while arena is fun for a while, the same maps over and over again are not. Variety would keep it – and WoW alive. Rated battlegrounds (like WSG/AB) would also provide additional things to do, and giving it an incentive like making it rated might actually get people to play.

World PvP is dead, and I honestly don’t know how to reinvigorate it, so I won’t bother going there. Actually, I think I’ve written enough for now, it’s a pretty long post and I would be getting bored if I was reading it; so I’ll leave it for now. More about balance and… stuff next time.

So you are Snuffie on Blackrock right?  Not Snuffy on Wildhammer.  I thought this was funny cuz Snuffy who played alliance on wildhammer, and was the servers first grand marshal, also came from Blackrock.  Just seems too confusing.  When I transfered to blackrock recently i saw your gnome and it stood out to me for this reason.
