Various reasons, actually.

1) AoC is definately a disappointment, for now at least.
2) I sold --> bought a Rogue and Shadow Priest, this season looks like it will be fun for a rogue and a shadow priest.
3) S4 was impeccably times on Blizzard's behalf to start when my AoC month is nearly ending.

Elaborating further, I've levelled to 50 as a PoM, and 30 as a Conqueror, in Conan, and whilst at first I was a big fan of the game, it's become a realisation that the combat system was a novelty and that wore off a long time ago when I was trying to land combos on sprinting clothies, and also the game is just unpolished.

At first I was a -huge- fan of the NPC's that spoke, really immersing you into the game, sort of like Oblivion, complemented by the shiny graphics and sexy women pixels, and then the promise of a unique and awesome PvP system.

A month later and I'm unimpressed, levelling feels like a heavily boring chore that resembles a WoW-esque grind for power.
The PvP is terrible (at least on my server) in that whilst it's refreshing to be able to gank people 8 level's higher than you because they suck, it's dishearting to see 80% of people you may engage in the *immersive* 'World PvP' to sprint away when they realise they've lost the battle.

The game also -isn't- much more skill dependant than WoW! That was a large factor for me as I felt WoW was rather easy, being tailored for casual players of ages 12 and up, and that AoC could have been a refreshing PvP game where I'd need to stay on my toes and actually put up a fight against those who roam the world with me, BUT it wasn't the case, as long as you can block when you see something coming towards you, like say, a big two-hander, and that you have a few braincells, it's as easy as pie WoW.

When I topped up my WoW account, I was a bit disgusted at the graphics, and the fact I couldn't gank people in the same faction as myself, but I realised it was simply a polished version of AoC pretty much, and I've decided to stay with it until either AoC get's some major changes and becomes pretty awesome, or try W.A.R, or decide I should get some real-life friends and socialise more and just drop MMO's in total, and stick to Metal Gear Solid 4 whilst I wait in my corner-of-disgust-toward-modern-gaming-apart-from-one-or-two-gems for a promising Starcraft 2.

Anyway, I don't mean to ramble on, in short, AoC isn't that great or innovative when you look at the actual mechanics, it's actually pretty annoying.

Back to topic, whilst I came to realise Funcom simply wern't the devs for me, I saw my AoC time was running out, and it was time to get a gamecard.
*Coincidently enough* (nudge: Blizzard) I'd been meaning to top up my WoW account, so it came to the crunching point, WoW or AoC.

And it just so happens a new season is dawning upon us.

As a true critic, a month should have been more than enough for me to decide and indeed it has, whilst I'm not here to do a full review I can just say I'm ready to return to WoW.

----------

So, I went on good ol' WoWtrade, sold my S4 ready mage for half a bag of sand, and decided to get a nifty, agile Rogue with some T6, arena point cap, full s3 and a 5000 arena point Shadow Priest with S1/T5 mix, for just under the amount I was payed.
-Result-

I've been playing my rogue quite a lot, and maybe my urge to write this post has exuded from that 'new-toy' effect of having a new toon to play with, giving a different outlook on the game.
I farmed to 1900 in 3 days with a druid in 2v2, so I am content that I have at least gotten good enough to get my weapons next season (at least I hope), and I used to own a Shadow Priest aswell.

This season marks a lot of things, and mainly it will be the deciding factor on whether W.A.R > AoC > WoW > IRL.

----------

/WallOfText off.

Funnily enough, here were my first impressions of AoC:

The last guy who wasn't me to comment sort of hit the nail on the head, after 48 I just felt depressed!

1900? I'm happy for you man. Joking aside, the disenchanted masses of AoC players have been crawling back to WoW for weeks now, not really blog worthy.

Heh, I know 1900 isn't amazing at all, but having 3 days before S4 is released with all the teams farming titles, and having started a brand new class without any prior knowledge made it sort of tough to comfortably reach the 2100+ zone :)
And I wanted to elaborate further on the issues of why.

I was expecting something like this when I red "Why I'm returning to WoW."

"Cause I got a 70 s3 druid.

Sup."
