News trickled out this weekend thanks to the upcoming issue of PC Gamer via CVG that the Pyro is the next class to get additional weapons/attacks and new achievements in Team Fortress 2.

So this got me to thinking, what new weapons would I like to see the Pyro feature? 

My first idea was a shorter ranged napalm like fire spray.  A spray that while having a shorter range, burns through other Pyro suits at a normal damage rate, and burns other classes at like a 1.5-2 times rate.  This could heighten the sneak attack effect of the Pyro which Valve seemingly wants to emphasize with the class.

For the shotgun I wouldn't mind seeing upgrade to some sort of incendiary cannon.  Possibly a double barreled shotgun that shoots projectiles that light people on fire.  The accuracy could decrease rapidly as distance increases, making it much less accurate than the normal shot gun. 

And now for the ax.  A flaming ax would be bad ass.  Make it a slower swing animation, leaving you open for easier attacks.  However any melee critical attacks will light your enemy on fire, hopefully finishing them off Backdraft style if you have done enough damage before then.

So those are my ideas, what do you guys think?  Yea or nay?  Any ideas of your own?

Hmmm.. how about a fire based cannon, that you use on teammates, making their weapons add fire dmg/DoT fire effects. The "uber" part would make you and your teammate 50% invincible and any enemy doing damage to you will burst in flames taking 25-50 dmg per shot.

For the shotgun... incendiary ammo is about all I can think of.

Axe... um... yea... add a fireshield that gives return dmg when you are struck in melee maybe? Then reduce the dmg by ~20% to make up for it.
OR make the fireshield gib spies that backstab you.

Nice idea.  I wouldn't mind a incendiary canon ala TFC, but it doesn't really fit with how they did the medic.  Generally they just modified each weapon, so I figured incendiary shotgun blasts was the best we could do. 

The fire shield could be pretty sweet.

Another thing that got me thinking with napalm, though it may require a further nerf, is spreadable fire.  Get too close to your teammates while burning with it and they light up too.

Maybe just add a dmg meter for the amount of time/damage you do with the thrower, then add a suicide or napalm explosion (think 360 degree thrower including vertical angles) if you manage to fill the meter. And as a downside (just like every medic weapon) it can't crit?

nothing yet.  though earlier on they did insist that they would come much faster along than the medic one did. 

various other quotes from the guys at valve made it sound like by early next year they would be complete, so if thats once a month, I dunno.
