There was some arguing about what exactly Orb walking is and it seems everyone has a slightly different view. So here I will explain my view on it, and a few of other peoples views that I've seen and also start similar to the pro tips was doing, a beginners guide - just some tips and techniques that people talk about or use that help in game play that may be a little confusing or not-so-common knowledge.
Beginners Guide To DotA Part 1
Orb Walking and Animation Canceling
Well my view was always that orb walking is when you use a hero like Viper as an example you would press C to cast his orb and use it on the enemy. Because it counts as casting a spell creeps will not attack you and neither will a tower as it normally would if you were to click attack on an enemy.
Animation canceling would be canceling the back swing on an attack and using that time to move. The advantage of this is getting in more attacks on your enemy. You can not increase the attack speed of your hero using this method, it just allows you to move in the back swing and allow for more hits. This can also be used on spells so you cast > cancel back swing and keep moving forward for another spell if possible.
Arirang taught me: "the original term is moving attack in Korea which comes from Starcraft when microing units like dragoon." Orb walking therefore would mean any attack moving at its roots.
I guess there is no full proof definition but in general terms, thats what they refer too. Sometimes orb walking is taken to mean both of the above or just one but it covers he jist and the general idea of it really.
I was asked this question in comments at my last blog: Why do pro players turn when they hit? For example hitting a neutral creep with autoattack they stop and turn then attack again.. I see this a lot but I don't understand why they wouldn't just autohit. Not only neutral creeps but other heroes as well.
Well when creeping the forest as Heldarion pointed out:
Hitting, moving back and repeating is the technique used to minimize the damage taken (since the creeps have to move after you instead of just attacking, they spend slightly more time to do it, therefore you'll get attacked fewer times then usual, and obviously, receiving less damage). It mainly consists of hitting a target, using the time when your attack is on "cooldown" to move back and create some space, hit again, repeat.
It is also used when in the jungle to gain vision of the surrounding area so you can see if a gank is incoming. If you fight at the creeps you lose a lot of vision - if you are ganked and at the creeps its easy to catch and stun you and the gank is a surprise. If you are away from the creeps you can see a gank earlier and just run back.
Protip: When playing potm and healing at the fountain, use leap at the fountain to get back to lane faster. You will get the mana and cooldown back by the time you are on lane and you gain a few seconds. Think of it like min maxing in WoW. It's a small difference that seperates the best potm players in the world from the average.
News:
In DotA scene news fnatic has sponsored TLT ie. Loda and Kwom's team. The roster now looks like this:
FnaticMSI.DOTA
Edvin `Kwom` Börjesson (Team Captain)
Jonathan `Loda` Berg
Rasmus `MiSeRy` Berth Filipsen
Aidar `Aidar` AringazinReplays:
Game 1
This game is Germany vs Denmark featuring Krobelus and a big **** up by miGGel. Kuro plays great and so does JOKER. Apart from his ****up miGGel plays a great rhasta as well getting off ward traps consistantly throughout the game.
aHCOS plays for team Germany because Kuro said: "I'm only playing if hes playing" and at that it was settled.

Game 2
DMZ vs EG at EMS IV. Some good play by both teams this game, moods plays an amazing sandking and any game where hexOr is potm is going to be interesting. Some great arrows from the word go and scores a quick first blood. DMZ are really on form this game and Kev plays a great supporter. He is all over the map and really controlling the game throughout.

HoN sounds imbalanced from what I've read but I guess it does look a lot better than regular + custom Warcraft 3 models

The new heroes are really imbalanced. But I think they did that on purpose and will tone it down before release.

If HoN is just Dota with better graphics it would be awsome, but if they cant get the balance of dota, it wont

its not just better graphics
its faster animations, less lag, you can rejoin games if you disconnect, theres stat tracking, the sounds are better, you can make new maps with far much less hassle

HoN looks really interesting. It kind of resembles what I thought DOTA would be like if they made it in SC2.
