Lord knows I tried to really see what I could get away with after they started tossing the bans. Like I said in Dyz's thread if I were to get banned, whoptadeedoo, I'll be playing WoW on the weekend anyways and not posting there. I really thought the 'Things I will/will not flame you for' thread I made would do the trick, but it's still there and it has caused a mild flame fest. I think there is some definate personal angst going on there against some posters.

My response to all the BS:
http://forums.worldofwarcraft.com/thread.html?topicId=1602353035&sid=1
and the text to ensure preservation of my post:
A Truly Sad State of Affairs
You know, as someone who frequents these boards quite a bit and that can still post, I find it amazing what my peers are being banned for at this time. Calling themselves names, making friendly jests (and calling names), when there has been so much bad language and hate spewed on these forums in the past with not even a batted eye.
Sadly, the rogue forums, while always filled with stupid, have become moreso of late. People read something somewhere (maybe even here) and spew the garbage right back while putting some spin on it. The spin keeps on going and eventually even the good intentioned information becomes trash.
* People believe that testing a spec and posting results with no control group is conclusive evidence.
* People believe that because they top damage meters they know all about their class and their spec must be viable and/or superior.
* People believe that their opinion is fact
* People believe that if they make a claim someone contradicts their opinion that the person contradicting their claim is bound by burden of proof rather than the other way around.
* People believe that by attacking a person's armory is a good way to get out of having to supply proof.
* People's armories are typically pretty bad and will always have an excuse when their armory is poor. Sad fact: Zodar has plenty of info on items that can be obtained through quests that are typically superior to what people have.
* People believe because they have right to post openly, that they actually know what they are talking about when they, most likely, have never read Rod's sticky.
The people that have been banned so far are people that actually don't exemplify the above qualities. People that have 1/2 a clue and are typically far more eloquent that I am.
The sad fact is that this thread will probably get deleted and perhaps I will get banned too. Sadly, the policies that don't allow people to openly discuss are what is worst this situation. Of course Blizzard has every right to censor what they please, but they should take a look at their policies and ask themselves the question:
What are we so afraid of? As they have shown via their CM's tremendous ban button pushing might, we can all be silenced. The problem you create by doing that, or allowing CMs that have yet to post in these forums (I can't remember the last time I saw a blue post) ban people, is that you leave the rest of the masses (in this case far less knowledgeable) to suffer the lack of information or understanding that they deserve and actually pay for via your monthly fee.
In summary, I am saddened by what has transpired here today and believe that by being pig-headed and dropping the ban hammer you are creating more bad than good. While you've missed the real trolls, racists, homophobes, hate-mongers, and other people that are actually a detriment to these forums, you've kicked some of it's most solid contributors.
That friends is what we call Epic Fail.

Rofl, well as most of you know I was banned in the past two days on four different accounts for various bull**** reasons which include....
posting hateful language concerning sexual orientation (use of the word ******)
posting hateful language concerning sexual orientation (calling Dyz a homo as a joke, which isn't even censored)
posting on a different account while banned (Violation of ban)
and my favorite one from today...
Suspended from the World of Warcraft forums for a 72 hour period for posting about disciplinary actions on the forums.

Whatever it was I missed it. Nothing compares to the Mannoroth Forum ban. Last year Mannoroth kept lagging for weeks. Even chat lag would be about a minute. No one could raid due to the lag and the D/Ced. People started creating sites www.mannorothisdown.com (not up anymore). There was even a 40 page thread in general forums and about 12 topics created.Â
End result about 40 people got banned in one day. Even now if you go to the Mannoroth forums you will notice most people post on lvl 1s, not because they are trolling but because their original accounts got banned.

It's amazing what power under the guise of internet anonymity can do.
Rxmon Sep 14, 2007 at 1:52 pm

The main problem is
a) No one moderates the moderators
b) They are almost anonymous. My first account got forum banned when it was hacked. 16 emails later I discovered they have no real filing system so they do not know who banned you, only why. Its ****** up that you can't keep talking to the same person, so 16 emails = 16 different customer service reps (in theory). Hell sometimes they would respond with the same cut and paste entry someone else pasted three emails before.
One thing is clear, customer service needs to be reworked.

Yup they can pretty much ban anyone for no reason. A month ago Netherea banned me for disagreeing with him on the general forums. I said a blue hasn't posted on the rogue forums for almost a year, he said I was overreacting and that blues DO post on the rogue forums. My reply was "Oh, my bad Neth, you posted patch notes on the rogue forums 7 months ago, that was the last blue post. Thanks a lot for that, very helpful." 3 day ban....

It's funny that the CM's can't handle criticism at all. They're like little kids on a power trip. So pathetic.

It really started yesterday when Dyz made a joking @Dyz post and it was fairly funny. For some reason the mods deleted it, so he made another post this morning calling the mods out. That thread basically was a lot of trashing the forum mods for being retarded, and it was deleted to which I think Cramerr (he would have to confirm) got the 72 hour ban. I'm not sure if Dyz got slapped with one on that thread or not. Then Myrx made a thread about Dyz's thread getting deleted as well as what was for lunch, and that one was deleted, he then made another thread about all the deletions and that was deleted again in about 15 minutes. If only Blizz had people as diligent at fixing broken game mechanics as they do with forum mods.

I'm pretty sure the @Dyz threa got deleted because I called Dyz a homo (which I got banned for). It seems like any time they delete a thread, it's because they banned at least one person in that thread.

I got banned the other day for calling Mangosalsa and idiot. He then reports me and I get banned, even when he called me an ******* in the same thread.

****. I didn't get banned today. The rogue forums, as usual, are filled with a ton of stupid, dare I say filled with retarded. I am seriously considering just abandoning them all together. There is a ton of fail and illogic on the blizzard forums, yet the ump-teen number of trolls get to troll away to their hearts content. You report it...nothing occurs.
Sorry guys. Sucks bad.

I have noticed something interesting. There are intelligent forums out there. Elitist Jerks, a couple of blogs that are being posted here. What is attractive about the WoW forums though is the size of the audience. More people = more ideas, unfortunately the forum community is getting worse and worse. The trolls are pushing the knowledgable players away, lowering the community as a whole.
If you think the rogue forums are bad you should check out the lock forums. There is so much crap in those forums that none of the legit posts are looked at.

Sadly this is a new thread today after all the bans.
http://forums.worldofwarcraft.com/thread.html?topicId=1602252838&sid=1
Thread title: Can you still Dice N' Slice with slow axes?
Thead's OP: A friend told me that its better for a rouge to Dice n' Slice with fast weapons. Is this true?
Oh ya the rogue forums are doomed to become filled with idiots.
On a side note I did have fun with a poster asking what Blade Twisting was for.
My respose was: The first time you click it is to select being stupid. The second click is to confirm your stupidity.
